Review #1,895: Nutt Kaze "Volume 1"

Reviewed on 12.23.2019 (Review #1,895)

While I have a lil’ bit of energy left for tha night, before I go to sleep, I gotta get at least one review in: Nutt Kaze Volume 1, released in 1999 on Underground Funk Entertainment! N’awlinz, stand up! Start Time: 6:49 AM | End Time: 7:33 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Intro
>>> Sounds good on tha intro, here; feelin’ tha G-Funk beat, as well as gangsta shit goin’ on, outside! It’s like a broadcast…! My Rating: N/A

02. “Knock ‘Em Off”
>>> Sounds pretty hype, here, fa a cat like you; good lil’ hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it str8; I give you props fa doin’ tha damn thang fa tha N.O., here…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds good wit how you holdin’ tha hood down, here; good shit…! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s cool, once again; good shit… My Rating: 4.1

03. “What Cha ‘Bout”
>>> Hearin’ tha hook & it’s pretty dope wit this undaground-soundin’ beat; good shit…! Got tha 1st verse goin’ on, here & it’s soundin’ nice… Tha plain beat may not offer much but it gives this vibe a nice lil’ undaground vibe, just like how I said in tha beginning… Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & this nice lil’ undaground vibe continues… Got tha 3rd verse 3:00 in & we’re only halfway through this track…! Sounds good; kinda gives me a Hypnotized Mindz vibe, a lil’? Got tha 4th verse goin’ on, here & it’s str8; good lil’ track, overall… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Get Ya Issue”
>>> A quiet lil’ intro, here… Hearin’ tha beat & it str8; hearin’ tha hook & it cool… Got tha 1st verse goin’ on, here & it sounds nice fa these “projects,” ya dig? Multiple rappers on this track? Nutt Kaze = a group? Then again, where I got it from, I don’t think features were listed? Either way, tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse cool, too… Was it me or did it sound like a long-ass hook? Was that a beginning of tha 2nd verse? Either way, I’m pickin’ up from tha more-hype dude fa tha start of tha 2nd verse, here & it’s pretty gutta…! Tha rest of this seems kinda long but it ain’t that bad… My Rating: 3.8

05. “Make It Hot”
>>> Literally sounds like N’awlinz, here; nice lil’ “hot” hook & beat! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds good; you know what these streetz iz! Got tha 2nd verse goin’ on, here & it str8; good shit! “No one iz equal” iz right! Anotha track that’s a lil’ long but it’s all good… My Rating: 3.8

½time: Sounds like you got tha N.O. on lock wit these anthemic tracks, as well as tha streetz bangerz…! A 3.9-rated CD, so far; let’s keep it movin’…!

06. “Act A Beast”
>>> A short track, this time…! Hearin’ tha beat & hook; both are cool, here, ta get buck to…! Hearin’ tha verse & it sounds good fa tha 5-0-4, once again! My Rating: 4.0

07. “Catch A Break”
>>> Back to tha semi-plain productions that sound good fa tha undaground, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad, here; regular-soundin’ rappin’ fa tha south, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it cool wit tha background-soundin’ voice ta add ta dis…; G-shit…! Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here & it sounds str8; not bad, overall… My Rating: 3.6

08. “Soulja Shit”
>>> Sounds nice; “Quarter Key,” huh? Tha “Quarter Key” from tha N.O. on here? Nice lil’ collab, if so…? Catchy hook wit tha “Quarter Key” & “Quarter Bird;” nice! “QB,” too? Lots of “Q”s! Nice lil’ 1st verse goin’ on, on this nice beat… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 2nd verse, here, soundin’ nice; rhymes, rhymes, rhymes! Vibe, vibe, vibe! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it aight, too; I’ll give it props fa its street content… My Rating: 3.7

09. “I Don’t Love Dem Hoes”
>>> An R&B vibe, here…? It’s gonna sound like it gon go downhill, here… This boring shit throws tha vibe off…; too slow & no rappin’! Oh wait, at 2:24, here comes rhymes! Sounds good/decent, even tho I lost interest by now… My Rating: 1.4

10. “South Syders”
>>> Damn, 6:49 on tha length! Betta not bore me b4 this ends…! Afta 42 seconds of an intro, here comes tha 1st verse & it sounds okay on this beat. This vibe & shit does give me a vibe of, like, tha dayz of Rap City? Undagroundness at its finest! Tha 2nd verse’s cool; nice rappin’, here… Keepin’ it movin’ wit tha 3rd verse & it’s soundin’ nice, here; just seems long, especially fa no hook… Hearin’ tha 4th verse & it cool lil’ undaground rap; what could be next…? Got tha 5th verse goin’ on, here & it’s soundin’ nice ta hear; let’s keep goin’… Also, a long but anthemic outro, here… My Rating: 3.5

Overall: Most of this sounded great ta hear, fa New Orleans… Only song that weakened tha CD rating by 3/10 of a point was that R&B track. Either way, I thought you did a nice job wit tha tracks. Only really loved tha “Knock ‘Em Off” & “Act A Beast”, as tha others were right under tha 4.0 mark…

Review #863: 2ooley "Life After The Bullshit"

Reviewed on 3.04.2011 (Review #863)

Keepin’ it goin’, I got my 11th review up next: 2ooley (iz that how you spell it/stylize it or iz it “2OOLEY”?) Life After The Bullshit! Start Time: 8:35 PM | End Time: 9:15 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “Mz. Popular”
Played it on my radio show and we had a long conversation on tha phone after; you had a lot of real shit ta say, too! Lemme give it a review and see what happens. >>> LOL @ your “2OOLEY!! 2OOLEY” part. I like tha energy in dis and how you come through wit it. Good shit, overall; you know what it iz. My Current Rating: 4.3

02. “Fashion Show” Feat. C-Dash
Now, I’m hearin’ more of what you got. >>> Sounds like a catchy song; I’m feelin’ dis… Thumbs up ta Dash helpin’ you out wit dis, too. My Rating: 3.9

03. “Hercules” Feat. Lil’ One & C-Dash
>>> A beat tag? Does everyone have ta have one? This sounds catchy and iz betta than tha “Fashion Show” song. Iz dis Lil’ One Da Ryder on tha feature? Nice job wit tha collaboration; mega-catchy wit dat hook and tha “Hercules,” lol! My Rating: 4.4

04. “Like A Drumma” Feat. Tawn P
>>> This iz anotha catchy song wit tha content and err-thang. Nice job wit tha collaboration, here; nothin’ but catchiness! My Rating: 4.3

05. “It’s Whateva Then” Feat. Money Bags
Bad Azz Entertainment in tha buildin’? >>> Not sure of tha beat but you create catchy music at all times; thumbs up ta tha 1st verse!! Dat’s Money Bagz on tha 2nd verse? No, it ain’t…; maybe it’s Money Bags (wit tha “s” that you listed); don’t picture him sayin’, “swag,” smh. Tha non-Bad Azz Money Bags screwed up my rating a lil’… My Rating: 4.0

06. “Get This Money”
>>> *Annoyed sound* Not these Fedarro hooks again… This iz kinda short but you sound good, minus tha stupid “swag” shit. My Rating: 3.5

07. “One Night Stand” Feat. Tazz
>>> My Rating: 1.0

08. “Yummi” Feat. Rarri
How many “R”s iz dat? >>> A lil’ on tha smooth type. Tha hook iz pretty good but why tha shout out ta tha “Juliano” dude? It’s not like he produced dis for you… Interestin’ lyrics, lol. My Rating: 3.8

09. “Girl’s Best Friend”
>>> Lil’ Tez on tha beat? Interestin’ dat you switchin’ it up to a real producer! Not tha most anticipatin’ kinda song but thumbs up ta tha production! Tha rhymes are kinda under-18, at times, but it’s aight… My Rating: 3.6

10. “Lights, Camera, Action” Feat. Rson Jones
>>> Not sure if I heard dis beat once before but it sounds pretty-good. Oh, it’s Vybe; must’ve heard dis beat… Didn’t realize tha featured artist was a female; pretty-catchy hook… Sounds like a song dat’s bound ta be hot… At least this iz over-18! Ooh, “she lookin’ like she ‘Tomb Raider’ tha way she got dem shorts on;” nice line! Gotta luv Lara Croft! My Rating: 4.1

11. “I Got Pull” Feat. Corner Boy & T.S.
Just Corner Boy and not Corner Boy P? Guess so, since Money Bags wasn’t Money Bagz. >>> Decent; what’s wit tha near-gay-soundin’ background vocals in tha hook? I had ta be alert… I’m feelin’ tha energy you have, here. Tha remainin’ verses from tha featured dudes are aight… LOL, T.S. goin’ nuts; hope ta hear him on a different song, too! My Rating: 4.0

½time: A 3.7-rated CD, so far; can you keep it up?

12. “I’m A Legend” Feat. Nino Burl & Prospect
More features… >>> Sounds like a good joint; feelin’ tha beginning of tha 1st verse wit this flow although a lil’ Young Dro-jacked style. Nice job wit gettin’ some tight features, once again! My Rating: 3.9

13. “Getting Right” Feat. SKS
Ses or SKS? I’m confused… >>> Sounds like a mainstream-kinda song… What if you didn’t have dat “bitch;” would you die? How do you have all these drugs? Curious… What do your parents think of dis? Tha featured dude sounds pretty nice; glad you have a clique fulla good features! My Rating: 3.8

14. “Chargers & Durangos” Feat. Renzo Loco
Let’s hear dis! >>> Ooh, finally, a song where both artists are sayin’ tha title back ‘n’ forth; glad ta hear one of these songs again!! Definitely hella catchy and you got tha rhymes on lock, too! Renzo sounds pretty tight wit tha “cops” content; definitely some tightness, here!! Thumbs up ta anotha tight feature!!! My Rating: 4.5

15. “Still Ackin’” Feat. 2 Slugz
Wit a “z”; interestin’ feature! >>> Might be his song featurin’ you? I’m not sure but for this mixtape, you’re tha main artist. Tha hook’s definitely nice; sounds like a hot single! Good job wit tha both of y’all doin’ tha damn thang on tha hook!! Funny lyrics; how you make all dis shit happen? Tell me. Let’s hear 2 Slugz on tha 2nd verse… ROFL @ randomly mentionin’ “tha Saints” and then, some “ass,” lol. Definitely some tight shit wit his energy!! My Rating: 4.4

16. “Marlo Mike”
As much as tha dude was an idiot, I thought it was unnecessary ta call his name out. Really, he should neva be brought up! >>> Even though this shit iz hella catchy and good fa tha gangstas, I automatically didn’t play it on my radio show ‘cause of this dude’s name bein’ used. But now dat I’m hearin’ this mixtape of yours, there’s a bunch more hot jointz you got here! LOL @ tha longness on here, too! My Rating: 4.4

17. “It’s So Cold”
Short joint… >>> Tha lady in tha beginning actually sounds pretty-good wit tha quiet beat, too. LOL @ “Walt Disney on tha weed: Goofy” line; good shit!! Very consistent wit tha rhymes; damn!!! My Rating: 4.3

18. “Use To That” Feat. Nutt Kaze
No one eva gets it right; it’s really “used”. >>> LOL, how you spell, “O’s,” then? Whateva; it’s still a good joint, especially havin’ a collaborator wit you! Tha rhymes are interestin’ to tha fullest; glad y’all are real interestin’ at times!! Oh, was dat you on tha 1st verse? ‘Cause it sounds like a Young Jeezy on tha 2nd verse, lol; definitely nice for tha feature, regardless, once again!! My Rating: 4.3

19. “Keep Counting”
>>> Tha beat sounds a lil’ familiar wit tha sounds used and whateva. But, I’m likin’ dis catchy hook wit tha breathin’ and err-thang ta describe tha “block” when “it’s hot!” Good rhymes, here, in tha verses, regardless if you actually have ta ‘throw money’. My Rating: 4.0

20. “Ta Ta Ta 2ooley”
I guess it’s not capitalized… >>> Of course, catchy; what else can I say? BTW, what happened to #21 & #22 on tha back cover? Very catchy wit tha flow and you already know how people represent fa you! My Rating: 4.2

21. “Bonus Track 1”
No title? >>> Prolly should’ve left dis out; gay hook. Tha rappin’ iz pretty good ta describe some of your personal life. But, wit it bein’ left off tha back cover, I think it could’ve been left outta dis review, in a way; doesn’t really fit wit this mixtape. My Rating: 2.7

22. “Candy Shop”
Not an actual file dat opens? Just resaved it and it opened. >>> Doesn’t sound like a song of yours, at first. Iz dis called “Candy Shop”? Instead of “Lagniappe”, I’ll call dis “Candy Shop”; an okay song but nothin’ special ta fit wit dis mixtape, either. Tha “suck (you)” part sounded pretty catchy fa tha sexualness for tha ladies, though. My Rating: 3.1

Overall: It looks like you had a halfway-decent mixtape, here; good job and keep it up! Shout out ta my dawg 2 Slugz; I fucks wit him heavy, too!
