Review #1,997: DJ Tremon "Trippy Tuesday 2"

Reviewed on 6.09.2021 (Review #1,997)

Keepin’ my reviewz goin’, as I’m almost to my 2,000th review! This next one iz my 1,997th review: DJ Tremon Trippy Tuesday 2, six years after 2015’s 1st Trippy Tuesday, courtesy of M.O.B. Entertainment! I’m honored ta review this one ‘cause, instead of just havin’ a drop on certain peoples’ releases, this tha 1st tyme I’m actually featured with a track on a compilation! Gotta luv tha honor! Start Tyme: 9:03 AM | End Tyme: 10:05 AM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. UGK “Swishas & Dosha”
>>> You may say, “Seven years later,” but my brother been gone six/same with tha 1st Trippy Tuesday? Or, did you release it secretly in 2014? Anyway, good lil’ intro from you & I can’t wait till I appear on here! With that bein’ said, hearin’ Pimp on tha 1st verse & he str8; mighta been betta if he spit more shit about bein’ loaded. Anyway, good lil’ country-rap sound on tha hook from him, here, with tha singin’ & luv for tha highs! Also, Bun B sounds good with his consistent, regular-rapped flow on tha 2nd verse; good shit… My Rating: 3.7

02. Juicy J feat. Pimp C “Smokin’, Rollin’”
>>> Lol, just a quick check-in from Bald-Head B—oh wait, after a few seconds, it wasn’t just a “waddup,” here. Good lil’ intro & sounds good with tha hook, here; all about tha “smokin’” & “rollin’”! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Juicy & it sounds a lot more like his 1st self with his organic flow; glad he don’t sound like tha mainstream Juicy, here. With that bein’ said, keep “smokin’”; keep “rollin’”! Keepin’ it goin’ wit Pimp on tha 2nd verse & I’m glad he has his organic flow on tha rappin’, too; gotta stay original! So glad he was for tha undaground & undadogz, just like myself…! My Rating: 4.3

03. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “Talent Show”
>>> Nice intro from you, courtesy of tha “Florida Blvd.” destination… Compared to tha previous two tracks on here, I’m not really tha craziest about Mr. Khalifa, when it comes to a southern/Louisiana compilation. Tha hook like a cheesy pop-rap vibe, here; even tha title doesn’t have a smoke reference in tha title…! Continuin’ on, Wiz iz on tha 1st verse & it’s str8; just sounds like he wants to rap with a boring flow, here. My Rating: 3.0

04. Lil’ Boosie feat. Pimp C “I Smoke Blunts”
>>> Gotta luv tha throwback Boosie, here; true Louisianimal to tha fullest! Great job with tha 1st verse ova this beat, Boosie; all about bein’ true to da streetz! Also, a nice lil’ hook from Pimp with tha “blunts,” here; gotta dig it! Mo Boosie on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit a shmoker’s “warrant” nightmare; deep but great ta hear, here… My Rating: 4.3

05. Mystikal “Still Smokin’”
>>> Luv his energy & aggression to where he only needs 81 seconds of Tremon’s tyme to set tha score high! I feel like I’ve felt him more on tha mic, as far as his aggression & delivery; this just seems like it’s okay/str8. I’ll still rate it as if I “love it,” tho, due to it bein’ Mystikal. My Rating: 4.0

06. Big Bandit “Henny Straight”
Producer: Playa Pizzle
Originally known tha “Straight” as “Str8” but this cool, still… Anyway, gotta luv Big Bandit choosin’ this Lil’ Cali sample fa tha hook—I should say, Playa Pizzle, since he produced it. Tha hook pretty dope & I’m glad Tremon supports tha drinkin’ of “Henny Straight”, straight from tha bottle! With that bein’ said, Big Bandit holds this shit down fa us ‘80s babies on tha 1st verse, comin’ through, “jiggin’ in this thang” & shit; nice & unstoppable! Also, tha 2nd verse cool, too; all tha DJs he shouts out, too, iz what’s up…! “Tremon”; he knows! My Current Rating: 4.6

07. Playboy XO feat. OBN Jay “To The Roof”
>>> Anotha hit-soundin’ track fa tha streetz & clubz of B.R., here; gotta appreciate Playboy! Props fa him comin’ through wit tha “To The Roof” action on tha hook, here; energy fa dayz!! Even on tha 1st verse, Playboy got this shit on lock; just luv how he comes through wit it! He may have a similar sound from his “Booted Up” shit but with this formula, he can keep consistently stackin’! Keep “jiggin’ out [yo] draws” & bein’ “To The Roof”! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & OBN Jay comin’ through with a nice contribution fa this, too; glad Playboy gettin’ his shine on! My Rating: 4.8

08. Fabo feat. Jeezy “Geeked Up (Remix)”
>>> Sounds okay/good fa a non-Louisiana track; Jeezy’s soundin’ good with his flow on tha 1st verse. I literally feel like I’m in tha 2000’s with Jeezy, again; great job… Hearin’ tha hook & it literally sounds like an asthma attack? Cheesy; like, coughin’ coulda helped, lol? Fabo on tha 2nd verse & he sounds like he was from so long ago. Like, his solo shit started 14 years ago, with that “Tattoo” shit? Crazy; I still feel like I’m 18/19, tho, only with evolved wayz. Seems like it’s an okay verse from him but it seems like it’s from so long ago or somethin’, compared to these current tymes… My Rating: 3.6

09. Lil’ Boosie feat. Webbie “Smokin’ On Purple”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ young Boosie, here; nice beat & how energized he iz fa tha 1st verse! Go, Boosie! Gotta luv how Boosie comin’ through on tha hook; all about tha “ease” of tha “mind”! No room fa Webbie? My Rating: 4.2

10. Three 6 Mafia “Where’s Da Bud”
>>> Doesn’t sound like Three 6, here; sounds like their production, tho. Tha hook sounds like it’s from tha ‘90s & tha verse that’s here sounds like some random rapper. My Rating: 3.1

11. Webbie feat. Lil’ Phat “Doe Doe”
I reviewed this one all tha way back on February 26, 2008, 1,930 reviewz ago (Webbie’s Savage Life 2 was my 67th review). Glad to see that I gave it a 4.1, durin’ those younger tymes; I wanna see if I’m still feelin’ tha same with my rating… *Re-Hears…* It sounds betta, especially hearin’ how much betta ’08 was fa me, now! I’ll raise my original rating to a higher one… My Current Rating: 4.4

12. Frank Calhoune feat. Level “I’m Edibled Up”
Producer: DJ B Real
Lol, gotta luv it, especially when it follows a title that’s one of my favorite people in BR (“Doe Doe”; only difference iz my patna, Boosie’s cousin, iz with a dash: Doe-Doe)! Anything anybody need ta know about my lyrics & how I come up with what I come up with, here’s tha link of how I break ‘em down: https://frankiethaluckydog.blogspot.com/2021/04/album-03-frank-calhoune-autistic-stoner.html

As far as tha track, itself, ironically, I wanted to start with “feat.” as tha ID but I tried “x” to represent tha strength of tha collab. However, I can’t figure out how all tha dance/EDM artists have “x” in their IDs. Anyway, I kept “feat.” & you were tha 1st one to have “feat.” in tha ID, which I later considered. With that bein’ said, I luv how I had all energy applied to this collab. Tha way that I visioned it & everythang, I just wanted tha edibles to speak! Luved that I was on 30 mg of edibles on this recording, just lettin’ it be known on tha hook! It’s all about tha effects of tha edible! With me on tha 1st verse, I just luv how I add tha “chiggy-chiggy” to “chocolate,” just bein’ a human DJ, with my voice/flow! Also, havin’ tha “I’m edibled up” part from tha hook to repeat 4x on my verse? That’s to consistently pump tha energy into people! Also, Level sounds dope with his collab, of course; luv tha energy he brought to tha table, of course! Only thang iz he was afraid of tha edible I went to give him, durin’ tha videoshoot. It wasn’t even potent but he acted like it was gon make him crazy, smh. Either way, definitely a highlight in my career & I will continue to bring it! My Current Rating: 5.0

13. Playboi Peezo “Incoherent Thoughts”
>>> Beat ain’t too bad, here; sounds like tha regular shit from tha trap-rap shit that’s out, these dayz. Hearin’ tha 1st verse & I ain’t feel it too much with tha “money” shit, at first. However, as tha verse continues, dude gets more consistent with tha rhymes & doesn’t stop; hope tha catchiness can remain till 2:33! Hearin’ tha hook & I’m real glad he split tha verses up with a hook; I almost was afraid it was gon be just one verse! Tha hook dope, as he a lil’ distorted in tha background with tha pill feelin’ & shit; gotta let it be known! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it he pretty motivated/focused, still; gotta luv what he bringin’! My Rating: 4.5

14. Famous “This Blunt”
Lol, I thought this looked familiar, just like tha last Trippy Tuesday; welcome home, accordin’ to you, Tremon! My Current Rating: 4.5

½tyme: Definitely sounds betta than tha 1st Trippy Tuesday, so far; really feelin’ tha consistency with most of tha tracks! So glad my energy & contribution iz a part of this mixtape compilation; definitely goes well with err-body, here! Currently, for this release, it’s a 4.1-rated compilation, so far; keep goin’, Tremon! Tha Trippy Tuesdays & that truck of yours!

15. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “Put It In A Zag”
>>> Sounds like an okay beat & contribution, once again; at least there’s more Snoop… Hearin’ Wiz on tha verse & he sounds okay, switchin’ with Snoop with tha rhymes; not bad, even tho more pop-rappy, once again… My Rating: 2.9

16. Nas “Smokin’”
>>> He’s a lil’ too NY fa this mixtape compilation; more on tha rappin’ side than tha laidback, “Smokin’” side… With that bein’ said, I don’t really have much feedback fa dis; hook cool but if I was listenin’ in ’02 or somethin’… My Rating: 2.1

17. Jay-Z “Feelin’ It”
I usually despise Jigga & have known this one since my younger dayz, too. Anyway, should just despise this fa appearin’ but if this was your truck playin’ this, it would be a nice blend. Remember that this review iz a review perspective vs. tha truck (future/current) perspective. With that bein’ said, Jigga prolly coulda been left out. Also, how iz he even on your Bandcamp upload, as well as tha other mainstream ones? Ain’t that DatPiff-like, not to sell? But yeah, I have to admit, I do feel his energy fa this mixtape & tha fact that he “Feelin’ It”; I won’t be too harsh… My Current Rating: 3.5

18. Lil’ Wayne “La La La”
>>> These younger Wayne dayz…; I don’t recognize this one, exactly, but this was when his rhymes were consistent, bar for bar…! Tha beat ain’t too bad but more on tha Jigga/Nas tip, as far as tha production goes. Tha hook kinda cheesy with these kids singin’; doesn’t seem so shmoky fa me… Tha 2nd verse from him sounds good with tha consistent rhymes; I’ll give him his props… My Rating: 4.2

19. Lil’ Wayne “Kush”
Also reviewed on February 27, 2008, but 1,928 reviewz ago, lol… Lil’ Wayne’s In The Carter Chronicles…! My Current Rating: 4.7

20. Master P “Smokin’ Weed In My Cadillac”
>>> Long with tha 54-second intro, here, especially fa this mixtape that has tracks only seconds longer, overall… Anyway, after tha long intro of tha ‘90s, tha hook’s dope from P, here. I don’t remember if I reviewed this somewhere along tha line, since I got through almost all tha ‘90s releases in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon. However, P sounds good with tha verse, here; glad he holdin’ it down like a leader & comin’ through fa tha “weed in” a “Cadillac,” here! My Rating: 4.4

21. Mofo “Rain Man”
My Current Rating: 3.2

22. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “It Could Be Easy”
>>> Sounds like it’s followin’ a slower, boring flow, here; I feel like I can’t anticipate tha titles when they don’t have a shmoke/high reference in ‘em… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s ehh; it doesn’t need feedback. Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Wiz & it’s str8; not bad but why this gets 3:55 on tha length? Seems too boring fa that length on this mixtape… Wiz made me feel like I was real young when he said that he was a “Game Genie”; interestin’… Hearin’ Snoop on tha 2nd verse & it’s aight; again, there coulda been somethin’ else (e.g., Louisiana) in its spot, here… My Rating: 2.4

23. OutKast “Crumblin’ Herb”
>>> It feels weird ta be reviewin’ OutKast… I would think with how much they sold out in 2003/2004 that they would be far past tha “herb,” these dayz. However, this b4 tha sellout tymes & it’s soundin’ good with 3K on tha 1st verse. Hearin’ tha hook & it cool with tha ‘90s vibe, but through Atlanta; still good, tho. Hearin’ a young-ass Big Boi on tha 2nd verse & he sounds consistent/good with his old-school flow/rhymes; that “’94 Lexus,” huh, Big Boi? All about tha ‘9-4! Overall, again, this cool but I woulda felt more appreciated if it was a Louisiana artist rather than them. My Rating: 3.9

24. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “That Good”
>>> Glad these two are puttin’ a shmoke reference in tha title, this tyme… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s aight; again, it’s not tha shit I’d go duffy over. Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Snoop & it’s aight; good lyrics about tha shmoke, at least… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from Wiz & it’s whateva with these lyrics; they’re not gonna make me jump…! Startin’ ta sound a lil’ more on tha wack side, as tha 2nd verse continues… My Rating: 2.6

25. Future “The Percocet & Stripper Joint”
Dear God, why him, now? >>> Sounds like tha beat’s almost similar but more southern than tha joint I just heard from Snoop & Wiz? Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s whateva; glad his voice ain’t as annoyin’ as it used ta be. Hearin’ tha hook & it’s almost wtf-like; he sounds like he’s gettin’ more & more fucked up, as tha hook progresses… I think that’s interestin’ how he put it; at least he ain’t all annoying. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s str8; I’m still not gonna jump fa joy wit this one, tho. My Rating: 3.3

26. Devin The Dude “Please Pass That To Me”
>>> Outta all tha non-Louisiana artists on this release, I think Devin tha best, when it comes to tha laidback, high-type of music. Even tho this more on tha slow side, at least we’re toward tha end of tha mixtape to bring out that slower vibe. Hearin’ him on tha hook & it’s pretty zoned-out; gotta respect it… Hearin’ him on tha 1st verse & it’s decent with tha rhymes; not my favorite but I’ll give him his props… Tha rest of this seems like it drags? Guess I need a blunt? Not that bad, overall; just a lil’ supa-slow fa my tastes… My Rating: 3.4

27. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa “French Inhale”
>>> Weird hook & random voice; why it gotta be a “French Inhale”, tho? Like, are we fuckin’ & inhalin’ at tha same tyme? Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Wiz & it’s aight, once again; glad tha lyrics all about tha “smoke,” at least! Gotta “smell it all through [tha] clothes”; that’s that cologne! Keepin’ it movin’ with Snoop on tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay; nothin’ really fa me ta say… My Rating: 3.2

28. Devin The Dude “Do You Love Gettin’ High”
>>> Even more laidback than tha previous Devin track, here; sounds like a nice lil’ hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & he sounds great with this chill, shmoked-out perspective; gotta keep it up! Glad he 50, still doin’ it all shmoked out; shmokin’ don’t come wit an age! After tha 2nd hook, it went a lil’ dry fa a sec.; no more rappin’? At least it’s a nice break? My Rating: 3.8

29. Devin The Dude “Doobie Ashtray”
Endin’ with a 5:17 length? Did you just wanna shout out OMG JT with tha length, since it’s his birthday length (5/17)? >>> Hearin’ this & you sound good on tha intro, Tremon; sounds like a nice way ta end thangz. Hearin’ tha hook & it’s really laidback; luv how he rhymes tha title with “why’d they do me that way?”! I feel like each Devin track keeps gettin’ more & more hazy/loaded, with how it sounds? Tha 1st verse from him cool with this laidbackness; I’ll leave it at that. Keepin’ it goin’ with tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ good, with his laidback-ass; keep it movin’…! A nice lil’ interlude of mixin’ after tha 3rd hook, here; definitely nice! Luv how tha laidback, loadedness doesn’t get boring fa this 317 seconds of a track! Tha rest of this still sounds nice with tha mixin’ & bein’ lost in this “doobie” effect! I like how he “found a bag of weed,” toward tha end; dope! I’m gonna be generous with this one, especially since it ended thangz off right! My Rating: 4.1

Overall: Thought this was a great release, for tha most part; tha main highlight iz tha Louisiana music, of course. Glad you resurrected your Trippy Tuesday compilations & I hope you continue with more of ‘em, especially for your truck! Seems like this review went by quick; guess that’s tha plus for havin’ so many tracks? Keep it movin’, big homie; thanx fa tha luv! Hope more of my other tracks hit your Trippy Tuesday compilations, especially since most of ‘em are all about tha highs!

Review #1,979: Cash Money Millionaires "Baller Blockin' Soundtrack"

Reviewed on 6.03.2021 (Review #1,979)

As my reviewz continue, I’m tryna keep my neck in check, as I review from my bed… Up next, here goes my review for Cash Money Millionaires Baller Blockin’ Soundtrack, released in 2000 on Cash Money Records & Universal Records! Start Tyme: 4:12 PM | End Tyme: 5:01 PM

01. Lovely & Atrice “Intro”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Nice lil’ upbeat beat, here; great job with tha intro, y’all (it says “Lovely & Atrice” but it’s Big Tymers, here)… Long, as it’s 4:24 on tha length; sounds more like an outro? My Rating: N/A

02. Turk, Baby & Juvenile feat. E-40 “Baller Blockin’”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Sounds like a dope track; feelin’ what Turk got on tha 1st verse, here, as well as Fresh on tha beat! Hearin’ tha hook from Turk, too, wantin’ tha ballin’ to stay alive, 24/7! Keepin’ it goin’ with Baby on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit his steez; glad he holdin’ tha track down, too… Now, on tha 3rd verse, we got E-Fizzle, comin’ through with that character needed ta make this entertainin’; awesome/unexpected contribution. Final verse (4th), here, iz Juvie, comin’ through with nice shit fa tha Cash Money peeps; good job reppin’…! My Rating: 4.2

03. UGK “Family Affair”
Producer: Pimp C
>>> A slower-soundin’ track from tha Pimp, here; not bad with tha laidback sound & Pimp on tha beginning, here… I know I seem lazy to review non-Louisiana music, so I just gon keep it quick with tha non-Louisiana ones… Bun B contributes that good, southern shit, as well; props fa UGK fa keepin’ it movin’ in tha 2000… My Rating: 3.8

04. Juvenile “Rover Truck”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Sounds nice with Juvie on this; beat’s good for tha hood & Juvie’s focus on tha constant delivery sounds great ta hear… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds a lil’ humorous vs. hood-cool with tha “bruh” parts; go, Juvie…! Keepin’ this movin’ with Juvie comin’ through fa Verse 2, soundin’ good with how he depicts this hood story… Keepin’ it movin’ with tha 3rd verse, too & Juvie keeps this shit poppin’; tha “truck” ridin’ through…! My Rating: 4.0

05. Ziggy “Big Chief (Skit)”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
Oh boy, Ziggy!! >>> Tha same skit from tha Big Tymers disc? Sounds good, still, as he’s disinfectin’ err-where…! My Rating: N/A

06. Big Tymers, Lil’ Wayne & Juvenile “Project Bitch”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
Lol, feels funny ta review dis… Of course, tha beat has buku catchiness to it, as well as Weezy goin’, “What…?! What…?!” in tha background; gotta luv it! Luved it when I was 12 & I’m happy it had its tyme, back in 2000! Fresh does an awesome job with tha catchiness on tha 1st verse & then, Wayne comes through with tha awesome youngin flava for tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse; awesome sauce…! Also, Juvie on tha hook & tha way that he made tha “project” bitches come together fa this track & its mainstream audiences iz incredible. Hearin’ him on tha 2nd verse, now & I can’t believe how raunchy he was, to where mainstream respected this! Totally locked into tha projects! Of course, endin’ with Birdman on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit his catchiness that I respected from back 21 years ago; thumbs-tha-fuck-up! My Current Rating: 4.8

07. 8Ball & MJG “Ballin’ Gs”
>>> A nice-soundin’ dark track from these boyz, here; good lil’ contribution ta this Cash Money compilation. Tha hook sounds catchy with how they “ballin’” like tha “Gs” we know ‘em as; great energy… My Rating: 4.1

08. B.G. “Thugged Out”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Sounds good wit how B.G. comin’ through on this slower beat from Fresh’s 1st verse, here; keep spittin’ dat gangsta shit…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good with how tha baby gangsta makes tha “Thugged Out” perspective sound catchy fa tha earz, here; good shit! Now, on to tha 2nd verse & B.G. keepin’ it street/100 with tha continued content; gotta respect it! Keepin’ it movin’ with tha 3rd verse, as well, comin’ through with an okay verse; seems like it’s draggin’ a lil’, due to this slow production… My Rating: 3.9

09. Unplugged “Don’t Cry”
Producer: Stormy Day
>>> This sounds like a track I’m just gonna breeze by… Already :37 in & I just heard whiny vocals, over a slow beat… Yeah, this on tha R&B tip; I’m just gonna skip it, since it’s not for me. My Rating: 1.0

½tyme: Tha Louisiana shit seems nice ta hear but I’ono about tha non-Louisiana shit, especially tha R&B shit… Either way, tha average rating for this release iz at a 3.7, currently.

10. Nas & Bravehearts “What You Gonna Do”
>>> Odd to see these boyz on here…; sounds like a catchy lil’ hook that’s outta Nas’ element? Gives me a lil’ bit of a less-catchier version of “Oochie Wally”’s vibes; good goin’, y’all. My Rating: 3.6

11. Lil’ Wayne “Calling Me Killer”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Glad Fresh iz back to producin’ a more upbeat beat, here…! Hearin’ Wayne on tha hook & it sounds okay ta hear; sounds catchy with how he delivers it… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds dope ta hear him as a teen, still! Sounds real young on tha mic, here; cool but yeah, a lil’ bit of younger sound equals more of a mainstream perspective? Keepin’ this movin’ & at tymes, it sounds good with tha street shit but I feel like I can’t appreciate his voice that much in this. Like, where’s tha title/hook part? Just seems like a bunch of braggin’ about gangsta shit, here… A whole 4:22 on tha length seems rough, here… Finally, a hook again, as tha track slowly gets closer to endin’… My Rating: 3.5

12. TQ “I Got To Go”
Producer: Livin’ Proof & TQ
>>> Thought I woulda liked TQ a lil’ betta, especially after his success on Wayne’s “Way Of Life” track. However, these dayz, now, I want Louisiana rap! Can’t really fw this R&B shit, even tho it has a lil’ bit of a hip-hop feel to it. Just seems like a decent R&B track; nothin’ I can say about it… My Rating: 2.0

13. Baby, Lac & Stone “Whatever”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Beat from Fresh sounds cool, even tho it sounds a lil’ slow & dry, at tymes… Baby on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through with an okay verse; I’ll give him some props… After Baby’s verse, it seems like this iz draggin’ & I’m zonin’ away from bein’ interested in it… With that bein’ said, lemme try & stay focused… Got Lac on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with an okay verse; nothin’ really much to focus on it, tho. With tha Stone dude on tha 3rd verse, his slang may be cool but it’s still a dry verse… Even more Baby on tha 3rd verse, as well? I feel like I don’t have that much interest, anymore; track sounds too dry… My Rating: 2.6

14. Big Tymers, Turk & B.G. “Let Us Stunt”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Sounds like tha Mannie Fresh beats I’m used to, with this Cash Money sound; good shit, Fresh! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Baby & it’s soundin’ good; I give him props fa blendin’ in with this beat… Hearin’ tha hook from Turk & it sounds pretty dope with that non-stop mixin’; gotta luv Mannie! Luv tha influence he sheds on DJ B Real…! Keepin’ this movin’ with B Gizzle on tha 2nd verse & it sounds good; props fa always reppin’ tha hood, B.G.! Keepin’ it movin’ with tha star producer on tha 3rd verse (Mannie), comin’ through with his consistent Cash Money sound, on tha mic; keep gettin’ it in! Luv tha extended hook on tha 3rd hook, as well!! My Rating: 4.6

15. Ziggy “Skit”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Catchy lil’ background beat & I always appreciate tha aggression from Ziggy, here…! Took a trip to Jamaica with that accent, here? I guess so… My Rating: N/A

16. Mack 10 & The Comrads “Milk & Honey”
>>> A lil’ slow from tha pace I was expectin’ fa this compilation… Sounds like a cheesy hook; like, I luv how Mack 10 just throws tha title out, outta nowhere! Tha rest of this kinda drags; more meant for tha west than tha 504? My Rating: 2.3

17. Turk feat. B.G. “Uptown”
Producer: Mannie Fresh
>>> Sounds good with how Turk comes through with tha 1st verse, even tho it’s a slower Fresh beat, again… Hearin’ tha hook & I luv how an uncredited B.G. appears! Still, it sounds like a good lil’ “Uptown” anthem fa tha streetz, here; good shit, B Gizzle! Hearin’ Turk on tha 2nd verse & it still sounds good, despite it bein’ a slower vibe…; streetz of 2000 continue to be on lock…! Keepin’ this movin’ with Turk on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit some mo shit ta enjoy fa tha streetz; good, Turk! Good…! My Rating: 4.2

18. Unplugged feat. Lil’ Wayne “Don’t Know”
Producer: Stormy Day
>>> Just skipped to Lil’ Wayne’s part, since I ain’t even interested in tha R&B singin’. Hearin’ Wayne come through & it sounds good with tha shit he bringin’ to tha party; beat also nice and faster, too… As far as tha R&B shit, itself, at least it’s a lil’ more lively than tha previous Unplugged track! My Rating: 2.2

19. Rappin’ 4-Tay “Win Or Lose”
Producer: Massive
>>> Not too sure of this dude but it sounds more like a West Coast dude; beat’s a lil’ dry & yeah, this seems non-Louisiana fa me. Tha rhymes ain’t bad but I can’t dig ‘em much… Hearin’ tha hook & it aight; a lil’ quiet but it’s delivered in a West Coast way. My Rating: 1.9

Overall: Seemed like a rollercoaster, when it came to this soundtrack. Shoulda just focused on just Cash Money artists and/or strictly Louisiana artists. Didn’t really need to have tha non-Louisiana artists; tha ratings also went sour with tha R&B shit, too.

Review #1,974: Big Tymers "I Got That Work"

Reviewed on 6.02.2021 (Review #1,974)

Goin’ fa my 6th review fa today! Can’t imagine how many years it’s been since I did six in one day! But, here goes my review fa Big Tymers I Got That Work, released in 2000 on Cash Money Records & Universal Records; S/O to Mannie Fresh fa producin’! Start Tyme: 8:15 PM | End Tyme: 9:29 PM

01. Intro feat. Lovely & Atrice
>>> Luv how I started tha review at 8:15 PM, Nipsey Hu$$le birthday tyme! As far as this intro, it sounds like y’all really in tha driver’s seat for tha bitches, here; crazy! Crazy what y’all can do with y’all intentions! My Rating: N/A

02. “Get Ya Roll On”
This one well known! Throwback/Classic tymes of 21 years ago! I didn’t realize how special Louisiana rap was, when I was a pre-teen/13-year-old. I did remember that I respected it a lot; I loved Lil’ Wayne at Age 14! Just luv tha anthemic vibes of tha “roll on” & just how tha two of y’all rep this joint to tha fullest! Tha whole flow, tha hype, tha energy; definitely in a plaque, in my book! I’m fulla dem edibles, right nah, just really appreciatin’ this! My Current Rating: 4.9

03. “Nigga Couldn’t Know” feat. Lil’ Wayne
>>> Gotta luv how Weezy comin’ through on tha 1st verse! Luved “Project Bitch” when I was 12 & didn’t realize Lil’ Wayne was on that, right away! I discovered him pretty early; S/O to Weezy! Luv how tha beat sounds & how y’all come through with tha street-type shit, on tha hook; y’all know what it iz…! Here we go wit Baby on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit that everyday-in-tha-hood feelin’; huh bruh. Got Mannie Figgy-Figgy-Fresh on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ more like he just talkin’? This talk-rap flow kinda ehh; just seemed like filler? My Rating: 4.4

04. “#1 Stunna” feat. Lil’ Wayne & Juvenile
Oh, Geez; luv how this came on outta nowhere! Definitely anotha throwback classic; S/O to y’all two + Wayne & Juvie! Literally, a perfect way to express how you can celebrate your own success! Luv how N’awlinz Juvie & Weezy were, here!! Like, radio really needed that grimy, 504 dialect! Like, they just luved to be here! That’s what you gotta have in ya! My Current Rating: 4.9

05. Big Chief (Skit) (Ziggy)
>>> Gutta-azz Ziggy, here, comin’ through with tha hoodest-of-tha-hood, here! Like how B.G. had “Hottest Of The Hot”, 19 years ago? Now, two years older: “Hoodest Of The Hood”; that’s what I woulda came up with! But yeah, hope to meet Ziggy, one day; gotta luv how he has maximum energy on tha mic, skit-wise! My Rating: N/A

06. “No, No” feat. Lil’ Wayne
>>> Sounds like a catchy-ass track with tha Figgy-Figgy-Fresh beat & how Wayne collaborates wit y’all! Luv how y’all make “No, No” a title that represents not just a turn-away but a comedy-like sound with tha way this sounds; huh bruh! Gotta luv how catchy this whole entire shit goes! Like round & round; that’s what I feel like tha “no, na-no” shit really goes around your head, like sheep, lol…! Js! Luv how all three of y’all held it down, consistently; really zoned into that title part! It’s nice & infectious…! My Rating: 5.0

07. “We Ain’t Stoppin’” feat. Hot Boy$
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ 1st verse from Juvie, here; feelin’ how he brings his all to tha hood fa y’all…! Got Lil’ Wayne on tha 2nd part of tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit some gutta street shit; gotta feel it to tha max! Also, B.G. on tha hook, here? Definitely catchy, here & now, transitionin’ to both Figgy-Figgy-Fresh & Tiggy-Tiggy-Turk? Awesome with how y’all two came through on tha 2nd verse! Ooh! Birdman & Weezy on tha 3rd verse, as if it was Like Father, Like Son, which wound up bein’ six years later! Luv how they alternate from Birdman to Weezy, on tha 3rd verse; definitely an awesome way of mixin’! My Rating: 4.8

08. “My Life” feat. B.G., Juvenile & Turk
>>> Sounds like a calmer track but still catchy, on tha hook; good lil’ Figgy-Fresh, here… Also, Figgy-Fresh iz on tha 1st verse, comin’ through with a catchy lil’ vibe, here… Hearin’ B.G. talk about his “rough life” b4 tha 2nd verse came in & I thought that was somethin’ special ta add… Either way, hearin’ Fresh on tha 2nd verse & I feel like it’s a mix between a long hook & a less-catchier vibe? Let’s see how tha rest of them boyz do… Hearin’ Birdman on tha 3rd verse & I can see where tha Fresh’s long hook came outta; tha “My Life” repetition iz tha catchiness. Just hearin’ that title part frequently iz a similar type of repetition that came through in one of tha previous tracks & I really latched on to it! Shout out ta Turk makin’ a lil’ appearance on tha check-in, b4 tha 4th—oh wait, no rappin’ from him? Damn; just…an…out…r…o……… My Rating: 4.2

09. “Sunday Night” feat. Lil’ Wayne
>>> Sounds like a laidback-type of beat, here, ridin’ on dem “dubs,” as well… S/O to Baby fa holdin’ down tha 1st verse; who woulda thought those “DVDs” would be on tha extinct tip, like Blockbuster? Keepin’ this shit goin’ with tha hook & it sounds str8; almost sounds like y’all tryin’ too hard? “Sunday Night”; like, “Ight”, as in “aight”, lol? Anyway, y’all got Weezy on tha 2nd verse & I’m really feelin’ his presence; definitely nice with what he brought to tha table, with his 17/18-year-old-ass! His representation was alwayz cool, back then! With Mannie Fresh on tha 3rd verse, here, it sounds like anotha spoken-word set of rhymes; not really feelin’ it fa a flow… It sounds like he’s readin’ a checklist off or somethin’…! His semi-cheesy hook sounds betta than his verse? Who woulda knew?! “Goin’ up ta 2001…”; huh bruh. It’s funny ‘cause that’s where I’m goin’ with my old Louisiana reviewz that I’m doin’. Though I will resume it again at sometyme, I’m goin’ from 2000 – 2008, from what I collected & didn’t get ta review, yet. With that bein’ said, it sounds like a long outro, too… My Rating: 4.0

½tyme: Sounds like a real awesome release, with lots of quality energy! A coupla Fresh fuck-ups but with him on tha whole album’s production, at least he really has tha tracks on lock, somewhere! Also, an awesome 4.6 for tha average rating, so far; keep achievin’ those stiggy-stiggy-starz…!!

10. “10 Wayz”
>>> Sounds like anotha checklist from Fresh; this one sounds like it’s more for tha beach, too! Geez, that hook sounds like so much fun or somethin’; like, this was tha sound to appreciate to tha fullest, ethically. Keepin’ this movin’ with Fresh on tha 2nd verse & this sounds more like rappin’, at least; props fa tha slightly-betta flow, Figgy-Figgy-Fresh…! Got a 3rd verse from Fresh, too, comin’ through with tha most-Mannie Fresh of Mannie Fresh’s verses on here; more piggy-piggy-props ta you, Fresh? Also, even Fresh doin’ tha outro, too; just seems long but I liked how he did tha outros, on certain outros. Oh boy, “Stuntastic”; I luv attachin’ “tastic” to words, too, ya heard me?! My Rating: 4.1

11. “Hard Life” feat. Juvenile & Lil’ Wayne
>>> Sounds good with Baby on tha 1st verse, as well as tha beats goin’ on fa tha Big Tymers vibe, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice with Juvie, here; he’s such a great role model fa tha hoodz of tha 504—sound, too…! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 2nd verse from Weezy, here, comin’ through with greatness! So glad Weezy got his rewarded success, in tha end; glad his longevity long af! Got tha 3rd verse from Mannie Fresh, here, comin’ through with a catchy vibe ta flow with tha beat; good goin’, Fresh! Keepin’ this shit movin’ with Juvie on tha 4th verse, comin’ through with mo shit fa tha hood; so proud of his representations! My Rating: 4.5

12. Big Chief (Skit) (Ziggy)
>>> Luv how Ziggy speaks tha facts, in an aggressive way! It’s like, “WALK! WALK!! WALK!!” He’s tha type that really forces out tha good, in tha end! Almost sounds like tha male Cita! “Cita; she’s a big baby!!” My Rating: N/A

13. “We Hustle” feat. B.G., Juvenile & Turk
>>> Sounds like anotha nice-soundin’ Cash Money beat, here; feelin’ how Juvie comin’ through on tha 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook from Turk & it dope with tha “hustle”; no wonder why I “hustle” with my talent! It’s tha quality like this that brings tha most outta people, I feel like! That goes ta those that focus on their dreams in a major way (e.g., myself)! Got B Gizzle on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with his usual, laidback, hood content; not bad, Mr. Gizzle…! Got Birdman on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit his bossmade-soundin’ self, here; not bad/good job… Luv how this has a “Tha Block Is Hot” feel to it; Mannie Fresh & his consistent-ass! Also, Fresh doin’ a 4th verse? Oh, tha checklist-type of flow! Lots of decentness & now, this? Deep… My Rating: 4.3

14. “Pimp On” feat. Unplugged
>>> Sounds like a different type of track that I prolly wouldn’t be too-too excited about… That male singin’ on tha hook’s kinda sappy; a lil’ catchy but it seems like it neva ends? Finally, some Birdman at 0:54 fa tha 1st verse… Diggin’ tha celeb/car-like rhymes he be spittin’; can’t deny but to appreciate success! Oh boy, tha 2nd verse iz Fresh with his checklist-soundin’ flow…! Even “in tha shitter”; go, Figgy-Fresh! Of course, a long outro with that hook just takin’ ova tha speakers, entirely…! Oh wait, Baby saved tha day with tha 3rd verse & his “Girbauds”; huh biggy-biggy-bruh! Also, Fresh on tha 2nd part of tha 3rd verse? At least it’s a normal flow than tha check-liggy-liggy-list! My Rating: 4.0

15. “Stuntastic” feat. B.G.
>>> Can’t believe I’m listenin’ ta somethin’ called “Stuntastic”, right now! Talk about leaders!! Beat’s definitely pretty pure, includin’ how B.G. holdin’ down tha 1st verse! Oh, just luvin’ how tha beat gets more excitin’, startin’ with Bar 5! It was Bars 5 – 8! Also, Bars 13 – 16! Interestin’-ass thought, Fresh! Gotta luv tha hook; that’s me, all tha way! That’s tha way I express my dialect! B.G., you nailed it!! Hearin’ Birdman on tha 2nd verse & it sounds cool, as well; definitely feelin’ how he expressin’ his “Stuntastic”-ass…! “Stuntastic, straight out tha plastic!” That’s B.G. for ya!! Keepin’ this movin’ with Fresh on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through with a decent-soundin’ flow; sounds more like a list of what’s bein’ shown, tho… Also, no special beat sounds durin’ his verse? How cutthroat to his damn self! Oh, now, tha excitin’ beat sounds came back, once B.G. hit us with tha hook, again! “Ballerific”, just like “Ballaholic” (Beelow)! Luv tha lil’ outro from B.G., as well; it’s all about that dialect that catches tha most customer service attention, lol… My Rating: 4.8

16. “Rocky” feat. Juvenile
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ 1st verse from Baby, here; spittin’ catchy rhymes on this nice beat by Fresh, of course…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds catchy with Juvie’s “Rocky Balboa” reference; props fa hittin’ ‘em, Juvie! Early auto-tune? At 1:15, Mannie Fresh says, “Cat cave,” or somethin’ & it sounds like auto-tune…! Did he realize he coulda made a lot more off of it than T-Pain? Who knew…? That’s just my opinion… As far as Fresh on tha 2nd verse, here, it’s a decent lil’ verse; good contribution that was overshadowed by tha auto-tune discovery I made…! *Sigh* Okay, Fresh, you’re on tha 3rd verse, too, as I can give you props fa doin’ a good job with tha verse. It’s like, you always want a win, Fresh! Gotta keep goin’ fa tha big “W”! Also, tha 2nd part of tha 3rd verse with Birdman, here, comin’ through with a good contribution ta split up Fresh’s extra full verse… My Rating: 4.4

17. “Big Tymers” feat. B.G., Lac & Stone
>>> Sounds like a slower anthem-type of beat, here; sounds good, regardless… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Birdman & it sounds good; analyzin’ tha streets like you know every eyeball! Feelin’ tha perspective of tha “jumped off tha porch,” just strictly movin’ up to tha next stage in life…! Keepin’ this thang movin’ with B Gizzle on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with that real-soundin’ gangsta shit; you know what it be…! Oh boy, tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse iz Figgy-Fresh; at least he comin’ through with a good flow fa this track. Hearin’ tha 3rd verse from this Lac dude & it’s pretty dope with how well he flows with tha beat! Definitely dope! Also, tha Stone dude sounds nice & southern with his presence; definitely nice! Did I forget ta mention, props fa B.G. fa reppin’ fa tha “Big Tymers” on tha hook, here; definitely dope with that siren-catchy beat sound, too! I made a dedication-type of track like this one ta 70th Street Carlos called “Fulla Dat 70th”; I wanted ta celebrate how great he iz, on a track. My Rating: 4.7

18. “Snake”
>>> Sounds like a decent lil’ beat ta end this release off… Hearin’ Fresh on tha 1st verse & it ain’t bad; basically, he showin’ everythang all off, once again. Hearin’ tha hook & I can see where DJ B Real gets his inspirations from; Fresh, you really provide that dose of catchiness…! All about tha “rattlesnake,” basically… Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 2nd verse from Birdman, comin’ through wit how he makes it with his “Snake”, accordin’ to this title & its content… I’m glad that it’s at least entertainin’; tha Big Tymers done earned they ratings! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it sounds more like an outro? Oh, well, maybe it’s ‘cause Mannie Fresh lead it off with his checklist-type of flow; it even spilled into Birdman’s court! Either way, to me, it sounded more like filler space! My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Awesome job, y’all! Some of tha flows I may’ve not’ve agreed with but tha tracks really stood out, altogether. Great job with tha continuous dose of catchiness y’all two applied ta this release! Glad y’all got even more out there than just this but these tymes are pryme tymes!
