Review #1,978: Boosie "Youngest Of Da Camp"

Reviewed on 6.03.2021 (Review #1,978)

Oh boy! My next review iz for Boosie! Tha Youngest Of Da Camp release I’m up to, released in 2000 on C-Loc Records! If only I woulda done four more reviewz b4 this one, this woulda been tha same review count as Boosie’s birthyear! It’s all good, tho; we’re goin’ back to that 17-year-old, almost-18-year-old Boosie, here…! Start Tyme: 11:50 AM | End Tyme: 12:37 PM

Disclaimer:
I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

Link To Release: N/A

01. “Shout Out”
Producer: Russell Lee
>>> Sounds like some good shit fa dat Rouge, courtesy of tha 2-Triple-0! Good shit that you’re rappin’ on, Boosie; feelin’ your 225 street perspective as a 17-year-old! Diggin’ tha Baton Rouge hoods in tha mix, too: “Zion City”; gotta dig it! I like how this ended with a train; good goin’, Boosie! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Feel Lucky” feat. Max Minelli
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Sounds like a dope lil’ hook; feelin’ tha brighter but still dark side of C-Loc on tha beat, too! Hearin’ what you got goin’ on with tha 1st verse & it’s pretty dope; so glad you’ve witnessed tha streetz at an early age to express tha experiences in these tracks! Tha world needs you, Boosie, especially tha Rouge! Got Max Minelli comin’ through on tha 2nd verse, strictly comin’ through wit that street shit! Now, unlike you, Boosie, if I did just one review b4 this one, my review count would be up to Max’s birthyear, instead! Facts! Good goin’, Max; props fa collabin’ wit Boosie! Keepin’ this goin’ with you on tha 3rd verse, here, continuously “thuggin’ tha block”; gotta dig it! Wish your 10-month-older cousin, Doe-Doe, was as successful as you; glad he holds a spot in my Louisiana heart for success! My Rating: 4.4

03. “It’s Goin’ Down”
Producer: Happy P
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ street vibe, here; feelin’ what you bringin’ on tha 1st verse, here… It’s all about tha quality street content; gotta dig it! Also, that beat sound at 0:27; gotta luv tha south! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s nice; keep reppin’ dat “4” & dat “SSB”! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & you keepin’ tha street heat comin’; gotta respect you to tha fullest! Keepin’ tha track goin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ nice wit how you handle tha streetz; keep dem “eyez” open, “tired” or not! It’s all about tha grind! My Rating: 4.1

04. “Pop It On Me” feat. Max Minelli
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Sounds like a nice club banga, as if Mouse woulda made if he was producin’ fa you in 2000…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s soundin’ like a nice, laidback flow from you, mixed with this club vibe from Loc on tha beat… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds nice ta hear, here; what else can you expect from a 2000 club banga? Props fa bringin’ tha “thug” style to tha clubz, here, 225 style! Speakin’ of thugz, here comes Max Minelli on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit his consistent rhymes; gotta respect how he depicts what he sees in B.R.! Feelin’ what you bringin’ to tha table on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit that good dose fa tha ladies, here; good shit, Boosie. My Rating: 4.2

05. “That Night”
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Beat sounds nice from Loc, here, as well as tha shit you bring to tha table, here… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & you comin’ through with a regular-soundin’ flow & good content for tha streetz; good shit. Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds catchy; not too sure how to fit it in with tha track but it’s still cool. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds tha same as tha 1st verse fa me, here; keep goin’, Boo… Re-Hearin’ tha hook again & it sounds catchy with how you say tha title part; sounds like tha early stages of tha Webbie, Boosie & Mouse collabz! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it sounds good wit how you really want this sex; good but damn, “Beefin’”? Err-body always gotta encounter beef! Also, “2002 all about Boo,” huh? We’ll see how your music sounds when I get ta ’02 in my reviewz, one day! My Rating: 4.0

06. “I Thought Ya Knew”
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Sounds like anotha good but interestingly-mysterious beat that Loc produced, here…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good; can’t complain with how you handle this beat… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like a good depiction of tha streetz, courtesy of your Rouge-ass. Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with mo shit ta enjoy; good shit. “Carolina to tha levee, boy”; I love tha B.R. “levee,” Boosie! Can’t wait ta see it again in three weeks! Lol, you really luvin’ that “2002” future, huh? Keepin’ this shit movin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through with tha street side of Boosie; good shit… My Rating: 3.8

07. “It Don’t Matta” feat. Concentration Camp
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ beat, here; that B.R. street shit from Loc on tha beat & you on tha hook, here…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you & I’m diggin’ how you “tha worst in [yo] click,” when it comes to your attitude; keep bein’ tha animal you iz! You always a beast in da streetz! It’s you again, on tha 2nd verse? Sounds like a slightly-different voice but still sounds young… Either way, it’s still a good contribution; keep tha streetz on lock…! Keepin’ this movin’ with tha 3rd verse, here, C-Camp’s Max Minelli; good shit, Max! Glad Max’s 21-year-old-ass iz fully focused, here! Got tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse, here, from anotha contributor…; iz that J-Von? Either way, anotha great job from Baton Rouge’s streetz! Likin’ all tha title parts applied to tha 2nd part of tha 3rd verse; good goin’! My Rating: 4.3

½tyme: You doin’ yo shit, Boosie; I would neva doubt you, ya feel me? Currently, this release iz at an average rating of a 4.2, right now; let’s keep it up, Biggy-Biggy-Boosie!

08. “Boosie II (Don’t Forget It)”
Producer: Happy P
>>> Sounds like anotha good beat ta rap on; tha south iz here ta stay! Here you are on tha 1st verse, Boosie, comin’ through, livin’ a good life in tha streetz fa tha 2-Triple-0; huh bruh…! “Follow me, I got tha ticket”; good shit on tha hook, Boosie! Glad I already got my G-Pass to tha hood of Baton Rouge, Boosie; I already got my “ticket”! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it sounds pretty nice with what you keep hittin’ our ears with; stay focused! My Rating: 4.3

09. “Same Ol’ Shit” feat. Max Minelli
Producer: Happy P
>>> Sounds like a cool lil’ beat intro from P, here… Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse & it sounds like some good quality fa tha streetz, here; you know what it iz, Boosie…! Hearin’ tha hook from you & I agree: it’s tha “Same Ol’ Shit”, when it comes to peeps seein’ you “shine.” I’m startin’ ta see that, now that I released my 3rd album, recently. It’s like, a lotta people wanna try & be on my dick or somethin’. Anyway, hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse & you sound good with tha street shit you continuin’ to bring to tha table… Keepin’ this movin’ with Max on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through with tha life story of a “G”; gotta respect it, once again! Glad he has “tha gas like a tank”; we gotta puff soon, Max! At 3:03, Max said a name & it was censored, in reverse; wonder what dat was? Seems like a dude that was originally cool wit Max but turned their back on him, right as this album was tryna get finished? I’ono… My Rating: 4.2

10. “Watch ‘Em” feat. Max Minelli & C-Loc
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Sounds like anotha nice beat, this tyme from Loc; let’s get it! Hearin’ tha 1st verse from Max & it’s pretty nice with what he bringin’, here; all about tha streetz, Rouge style! Hearin’ tha hook from you, Boosie & I’m diggin’ what you spittin’! “It ain’t about no age, mane, it’s strictly how you raised”; true dat, Boosie! I always feel like I develop a decade slower (e.g., I feel 22 years-old, right nah), due to my Asperger’s Syndrome. I’m glad I can connect with all tha ‘80s babies like you, tho; let’s continue to get it! Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse & you fully focused with what you bringin’, here; strictly gangsta in tha content! Can’t deny Boosie! Got BiggDawg on tha 3rd verse, here, comin’ through wit his legendary street content…! That’s right, “legendary”! Loc been legendary & this iz Loc 21 years ago! Great contribution, includin’ that after tha 3rd verse, tha beat just continued ta ride out…! My Rating: 4.5

11. “Young Niggaz” feat. Donkey
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Beat sounds nice & clubby, here; let’s get it, Loc, Boosie & Donkey…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty nice with what you’re bringin’, here; nothin’ but quality, gangsta shit, here! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s soundin’ like a good lil’ hook; always gotta be “young”! Hearin’ Donkey on tha 2nd verse, here & he comin’ through like a Baton Rouge animal; gotta feel it! Prolly coulda had him a lil’ more aggressive on tha flow but his content & contribution shows its true Baton Rouge colors, at least! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s tha Donkey dude, again? Y’all really blend in nicely ‘cause it’s that life of tha Rouge, basically! “Me, Donkey & Boosie”; but, who’s “me,” exactly? *Checks* Even on tha outro, I couldn’t exactly tell; guess they’ll just be a mystery? My Rating: 4.1

12. “My Life”
Producer: C-Loc
>>> Sounds like a nice beat from Loc, here; keep holdin’ it down, y’all…! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & you droppin’ dat heat fa tha streetz, as alwayz! Hearin’ tha hook right nah & it sounds good wit how you define your “life,” on this track; keep it comin’! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & you got your autobiography on lock, here; glad you have a legacy of longevity, Boosie! Keepin’ it movin’ with tha 3rd verse, here & it sounds aight/good; glad you got a lot in “life”…! My Rating: 3.7

13. “I Got Dat Slap” feat. Max Minelli
Producer: Russell Lee
>>> Sounds like a dope beat from Russ, here, as well as Max on tha intro & hook; keep slappin’ wit dat “slap”! Here you come on tha 1st verse, Boosie, kickin’ it off with tha life of a dope celebrity; good shit, Boosie… Keepin’ this thang movin’ with tha 2nd verse from Max, here, comin’ through with a regular-soundin’ flow but with tha content for tha streetz; good shit. Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & it’s more Max, here, comin’ through with some mo shit that sounds good; gotta dig it… My Rating: 4.0

Review #1,355: Mannie Fresh "Return Of The Ballin'"

Reviewed on 12.09.2013 (Review #1,355)

Next up, I have a 2009 CD from Mannie Fresh I finna review, that I ain’t know about. With tha Big Kanaka & MoDo LLC label this time, here’s my review for Mannie’s Return Of The Ballin’! Start Time: 11:59 AM | End Time: 12:46 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

© 2013 CD Review (Review #1,355) reviewed on 12.09.2013 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Like A Boss” Feat. The Show
>>> Sounds good, here; tha cool vibes of Mannie Fresh, once again! Tha 1st verse sounds good; you livin’ it up! Almost sounds like there’s background vocals from The Show in tha background of tha hook; I gon put him in tha feature! Nice job wit tha 2nd verse, too; strictly feelin’ good! Tha 3rd verse iz here, and it sounds like you’re always livin’ dat good “life!” My Rating: 4.2

02. “American Dream” Feat. The Show
Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this collab! >>> Nice start from Show!! Great hook, feelin’ like tha “American dream!” Good shit on tha 1st verse, Show! Ooh, anotha verse from Show? That great voice ta make you feel good on tha track! Here you are, also, Fresh, comin’ through wit some nice shit, too! Good shit from tha both of y’all comin’ outta tha 3rd verse, too; consistency, here!! I like how Show comes through with, “Smell that? I’m so on my shit, nigga!” Dumb shit!! Long beat outro ta end this off, too! My Rating: 4.5

03. “Drought” Feat. Rick Ross
“Drought” iz right, as far as tha feature goes! >>> Wow, came outta nowhere!!! Really feelin’ tha Lil’ Jon “drought!!! Drought!!!” shit in tha background!! Also, feelin’ tha “we got dat Lindsay Lohan down south” shit in tha hook, too, Fresh!! Wow, this definitely hot!!! Rick Ross on tha 1st verse… Completely ignorin’ what he sayin’, since I can’t believe him. At least there’s no a-tune on his vocals! Fuck, anotha Rick Ross verse? Damn, this startin’ ta get worse fa me… Finally, you on tha 3rd verse; feelin’ your “fuck goin’ ta college” perspective, though I have a Master’s Degree! Loans are such a backlash; at least you can afford it! My Rating: 4.4 (would’ve been near a 4.9 if Ross wasn’t on here)

04. “I Smell Like Money” Feat. Swagg Starz & The Show
Not really anticipatin’ this title, or this Swagg Starz feature. Then again, this was years before I got robbed ½ a stack, so I don’t think I’ll mind this too much? >>> This ain’t too bad; I can feel tha vibe on tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse; not really into tha “money out tha ass” line. There was a line I heard tha year before: “I got money out tha asshole,” and unfortunately, that “money” was only $40 I earned, this year. Definitely not no “asshole”-worth! Tha 2nd verse sounds okay, so far; comin’ “out tha mud,” here. Tha 3rd verse iz The Show, and his rhymes/delivery’s catchy, here… My Rating: 4.0

05. “Get With Me” Feat. Russell Lee & The Show
>>> Nice vibe, here! Wow, you was takin’ “a Molly” in ’09? Nice and early, like tha late Sheen~Marie! Tha hook ain’t too bad, overall, and hearin’ you on tha 1st verse, it sounds aight… Tha hook almost sounds like it has Trina in it, too… The Show’s on tha 2nd verse, wipin’ his “ass” wit “paper” and shit; nice rhymes! You could’ve sworn that ass-wipin’ line woulda been in tha previous joint. Thought there’d be anotha verse, but it’s anotha long beat outro… My Rating: 4.2

06. “Go Girl”
>>> Sounds like a typical song of yours, in a great way; jammin’! Nice job wit tha 1st verse, beat, and warped vocals, at times! Tha hook’s simple, but jammin’, once again! Too bad this “girl” doin’ some gay dances (“‘Ricky Bobby’, ‘Stanky Legg’,” and more)… Either way, nice job wit tha verse, again! Tha 3rd verse sounds nice, too! Those warped-like vocals sound catchy; I’m likin’ ‘em!! Yea: “This that classics right here!” My Rating: 4.5

½time: So far, real good!! You have a 4.3 for tha CD rating, currently; all tha jamz are on-n-poppin’!! Keep up tha great productions and party-like anthems!!

07. “Already” Feat. Russell Lee
>>> Sounds good, so far… Tha 1st verse sounds like you gettin’ your groove on in tha club, wit many people who encounter you! Tha hook’s cool and simple; “already!” Tha 2nd verse’s nice, too… Ooh, Russell snuck inta tha 3rd verse, here, wit a rap-sung verse! Nice! My Rating: 4.2

08. “Feignin’” Feat. Swagg Starz
>>> Wasn’t sure how I was gon feel about tha start, but it sounds good wit tha beat, here… I thought it was The Show on tha 1st verse, but it’s a part of tha Swagg Starz. Rhymes ain’t bad, but that beat continues ta become more and more interesting! Tha hook sounds good, too; catchiness! Wow, just luvin’ tha vibe of tha beat!!! #newadventures Great shit, here!! My Rating: 4.6

09. “Strip Tease” Feat. Russell Lee & Swagg Starz
>>> Kinda sounds a lil’ too soft, here, fa me… Tha 1st verse iz on an R&B-version-of-Max Minelli-like vibe; it’s okay, but may make me wanna fall asleep! Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, either… My Rating: 3.1

10. “Let’s Ride/Watch” Feat. Russell Lee
>>> Finally, back ta bein’ awake! Catchy hook fa it bein’ a “Friday”-like party, ova this jammin’/positive beat. Tha 1st verse iz Russell Lee, singin’ some shit on this jam… Tha 2nd verse iz Russell, too? Not bad; I guess it’s more of Russell’s song, here… My Rating: 3.6

11. “Ladies” Feat. Russell Lee & S.O.L.E. Fresh
>>> Feelin’ tha positive vibe, here; nice beat!! Tha hook sounds nice; lol, “private parts!” More Russell Lee comin’ at cha wit tha 1st verse, here; not bad… Catchy rhymes wit tha S.O.L.E. Fresh person, too! Who could this be on tha 2nd verse? Could be either or, on tha feature; I’m confused…? Either way, nice deep voice… Now, here you are, comin’ through wit catchy rhymes on this track. My Rating: 3.7

12. “Can I Live” Feat. Russell Lee & The Show
This CD’s turnin’ a lil’ too R&B fa me. Let’s see how we can end it off… >>> Beat sounds real nice, once again… Tha hook’s Russell Lee, comin’ through wit not-bad singin’, once again. LOL @ him: “I smoke my weed;” nice! Well, I gave feedback on tha 1st verse, without me knowin’. Hearin’ tha actual hook now, and it sounds catchier! Now, we got The Show on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through with good shit over those cymbals clashing!! That was nice for tha pre-verse!! Good job wit tha 2nd verse, here, Show!! Consistent rhymes!! Ooh, anotha Show verse fa tha 3rd verse! Now, that’s “Christmas,” as far as a gift! Wow, “swine flu;” I forgot that was an ’09 thing. Damn, that seems so long ago! Great shit; Mannie Freshless, lol? My Rating: 4.2

Overall: Other than tha full R&B vibe, I was definitely diggin’ this CD! Prolly could’ve also minused Ricky off tha “Drought” song, but other than that, this was hot! Glad you still got it in you; keep it up!! No aging yet, Fresh!!

I don’t think I eva reviewed this, but I remember it from Music Choice: Rap (which they premiered back on March 23, 2006 @ 9:24 PM). Lemme hear this and see what I gotta say… >>> I prolly gon do a full review fa this when I review tha CD this iz first off of, from 2006, but from what I’m hearin’, it’s pretty catchy. Seemed like Music Choice: Rap was nice and easy-going with lettin’ this one in; I rarely hear a Louisiana exclusive, now-a-dayz… Great collaboration and catchy, screwed hook! My Current Rating: 4.3

07. “Love Hate” Feat. Kleiko Rico
My Current Rating: 4.0

08. “Legendary Mentality” Feat. Miguel
I remember this collab. Who would’ve thought Miguel would be known by now? My Current Rating: 4.0

½time: Most of tha songs on here I know, but this CD’s at a 4.1, so far…

09. “I Can’t Wait (Remix)” Feat. Natalie & Coline

Review #920: Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. "The Raw Report"

Reviewed on 3.29.2011 (Review #920)

Comin’ up next, for my 2nd review, it’s my boy Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I., formerly wit Young Money Entertainment (still wit P.C.O. Entertainment, I believe), The Raw Report; lookin’ forward!! LOL, tha last time I reviewed you was 806 reviewz ago; damn!! It was “On The Inside Looking Out”, which you liked/responded to dat review! Start Time: 7:44 AM | End Time: 8:20 AM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “The Inspiration”
Streetkings Music doin’ tha production, here; let’s see how good it iz… >>> Tha production’s nice and tha rhymes/punchlines are definitely on ‘n’ poppin’, right now! Definitely feelin’ what you got, here; good New Orleans-type Rap music! Tha hook’s nice, too; you’re definitely an “inspiration” wit dis shit! My Rating: 4.3

02. “Quit Hatin’” Feat. DJ Drama & Kidd Kidd
Stevie Drumma doin’ tha beat!! Guess I betta “sit still”, then, lol, and listen? Also, DJ Drama re-added tha “DJ” in his name, lol? >>> Good intro from Drama and pretty-good beat from Stevie, although I’m not too crazy about, I think, Drake’s voice randomly appearin’ on tha hook? Either way, definitely nice, regardless, ya dig? You’re on tha 1st verse and it sounds nice; I like tha “finish him” part, referrin’ ta “Mortal Kombat”? Good shit; glad you consistent! Tha 2nd verse from you’s soundin’ real good, too; keep dat attitude up!! Kidd Kidd’s on tha 3rd verse and I guess ‘cause it’s your CD, he’s more serious, thank God! Thumbs up fa his contributions, here! My Rating: 4.2

03. “What?”
Ooh, anotha Stevie Drumma beat; y’all got dat chemistry!! >>> This sounds anticipatin’ wit tha beat start; ooh, tha hook’s definitely tight!! Tha “’round this biiiiiiiiiitch” part reminded me of tha late Nu$$ie; good shit wit tha hook! Tha 1st verse, already, iz off to a tight start!! Definitely feelin’ your attitude, especially when you say, “not wit Young Money;” that sucks that you’re not wit them, anymore! I guess it’s tha underrated people like you that I care about tha most—it’s always been like dat in my 22 years of livin’, ya dig? Tha 2nd verse iz also good wit tha attitude; damn, you got shit on lock, here! My Rating: 4.5

04. “War” Feat. Lil’ Wayne
Anotha one wit Stevie Drumma on tha beat! I guess this was durin’ tha Young Money Ent. times? Lookin’ forward ta hear, regardless of tha feature! >>> Interestin’, anticipatin’ intro; have I heard dis before? Tha hook’s definitely hot! Damn, you got some angry rhymes, here; big thumbs up!! Wayne’s on tha 2nd verse and I guess it must be a lil’ older than ‘11/some of ’10 ‘cause he sounds a lil’ tight wit tha rhymes, unlike now. As this tight song continues ta progress, you’re on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit tha consistent, tight rhymes, again!! I like tha “bought a KISS album” line about “heavy metal;” dumb shit from Dizzy!! My Rating: 4.4

05. “We Was Just F’n”
LOL @ this title; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ dis wit Sso on tha beat! >>> Production sounds a lil’ different and somewhat-anticipatin’ in tha beginning… Ehh, slowly losin’ interest in tha beat but your rhymes are pretty-good. Uh, Dizzy, what’s up wit tha gay-soundin’ background vocals? Tha hook’s aight; A-Tune part in tha hook? Thank God it’s only tha title ‘cause it works as far as that; that’s as far as it can go! LOL, might be likin’ this more throughout tha 2nd verse, as you start it off wit “we fuckin’ like animals,” rofl! Thumbs up fa keepin’ shit entertainin’! My Rating: 3.7

06. “I Hustle” Feat. Russell Lee
Both Russell Lee & Mannie Fresh are on this beat, together; Max Minelli’s Russell Lee? Has ta be, so I’m lookin’ forward! >>> Tha beat’s not bad and tha hook sounds smooth fa a “hustle”-type song. You’re on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit a smooth, nice “hustle”, here; thumbs up, Dizz-to-tha-y, lol. You’re on tha 2nd verse, too, comin’ through wit some of dat real “hustle”-type shit, once again! My Rating: 3.7

07. “Stupid”
Ooh, Sinista on tha beat? I should like dis one, lol! >>> Yea, on a Baton Rouge/Louisiana-type style! Thumbs up fa tha hot, Dizzy-soundin’ production and tha tight hook! Glad you’re in a fun mood, here, comin’ through wit your collection of tight shit! Goin’ ta “BR” ta “spend time wit (your) cousins”? Thumbs up, since you can get “BR” in ya blood! I’m really likin’ this flow you got goin’ on; definitely catchy!! You even keepin’ tha 2nd verse goin’, too! A lil’ shorter, it seemed like, but there’s room fa anotha verse! Tha 3rd verse sounds tight, especially wit tha “puffin’ on dis…” part; gotta luv dat smoke! My Rating: 4.4

½time: A 4.2-rated CD, currently; you always seem ta impress me, Dizzy! Keep shit up; lookin’ forward to tha rest!!

08. How Shit Happens (Skit)
You produced dis, lol? >>> LOL, sounds like a phone call, off top. Tha volume’s a lil’ low, here; ooh, sounds interestin’ fa a skit! LOL, tha volume got normal ‘round :43 and tha content got raw! No wonder why “raw” iz in your name! My Rating: N/A

09. “M.O.B. Shit”
Yes, anotha Sinista production; how will y’all do dis time? >>> Tha beat’s definitely nice, here, fa tha 504 perspective; nice beginning/hook you got, here! Good shit you got goin’ on wit tha 1st verse; you on yo “shit,” lol! Tha rhymes are consistent; thumbs up fa all dis… My Rating: 4.1

10. “Break It Off” Feat. Mannie Fresh, Cupid, Mugsy & The Show
Large lineup, here, wit Sinista on tha beat! I have a feelin’ dis gon be either tight as hell or a lil’ too mainstream? >>> Ehh, it’s more on tha mainstream side, especially wit dat Cupid on tha hook… Damn, The Show on tha 1st verse but last on tha ID? Should put him further in tha ID but I’ll leave it tha way it iz ‘cause I’m sure you’re good at havin’ tracklistings made. Anyway, thumbs up fa Show; sounded good/pretty-good. You’re on tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse, spittin’ some good shit, too. LOL, Mannie Fresh’s on tha 2nd verse, soundin’ a lil’ catchy wit what he spittin’… Mugsy’s hoppin’ onta tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse, spittin’ good shit, too. LOL, I think all y’all got tha same grade from me wit tha verses; I may think Show had tha best one if I had ta break a tiebreaker, though. My Rating: 3.5

11. “Me” Feat. Mannie Fresh, Mugsy & The Show
LOL, minus Cupid, lol? I guess this should be easily tighter for me, includin’ a production from this Jus10 dude? >>> Ooh, hot intro dat reminds me of Da Goonz “No Swagg”’s hot intro/beat! Shit yea, Mannie Fresh’s on tha hook and it’s definitely nice; thumbs up ta dis, especially dat beat keepin’ thangz on-‘n’-poppin’! ROFL @ Mugsy on tha 1st verse; finally, tha ID’s in tha correct order! Definitely entertainin’ shit he’s got goin’ on; keep this shit up!! Here’s tha 2nd verse, comin’ from tight-ass Show, doin’ tha damn thang, once again!! You’re on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit a focused mind; definitely feelin’ it, Dizzy, ya heard me? My Rating: 4.5

12. “I Can See”
Wil Da Great on tha beat, here, which looks a lil’ different wit one “L” in tha name, lol? I guess that means he’ll get less blunts (“L”s), lol? LOL, just playin’! >>> Not sure what ta think about tha beginning… Sounds like a decent song fa a start but your rhymes are definitely nice! My Rating: 3.8

13. “Don’t Stop” Feat. Kidd Kidd, RidaGang Ro & Boogie Fresh
Damn, lots of anticipatin’ people, here, wit Raj Smoove on tha beat? What could I expect outta dis bonus track? >>> Damn, tha vibe iz hella tight wit tha fast-paced sound; thumbs up fa tha rhymes, too! Tha hook’s catchy, too; glad you got this uptempo vibe ta you, too, Dizzy! I like tha verse about tha “popped two Viagra pillz;” dumb shit!! Tha rest of this shit’s definitely nice; glad you even contributin’ a verse, Dizzy!! My Rating: 4.7

14. “Switch” Feat. Slums & K-Izzy
Suga Bear on tha beat? That’s a different name…; let’s see what’s up wit dis one! >>> Tha 1st verse sounds like Show, lol? Guess they must be his relative or somethin’, lol; good, interestin’ rhymes, survivin’ tha “hurricane!” SMH, what was up wit dat random A-Tune part? Hope that’s not what I’m expectin’ later on in tha song; you gotta prove ‘em wrong, Dizzy!! You’re on tha 2nd verse, luckily, and shit, they tried ta “lock (you) up ‘cause of a blunt”? Damn, how shitty, not Dizzy, lol! Thumbs up fa doin’ a nice job on dis track, ya dig? Should I hear tha 3rd verse? Oh, at least it’s a normal voice but I hate, hate, hate, hate that cliché, stupid-ass “Turn My Swag On” starting line!! This also sounds like anotha relative of Show, lol? Good rhymes, overall! My Rating: 4.2

15. “Football” Feat. Mannie Fresh
LOL, everyone’s favorite topic on tha title, rofl! Streetkings Music on tha beat; I should look forward, surprisingly!! >>> Tha beat’s definitely nice; I’m slowly gettin’ interested and anticipated!! Oh, fuck!! Curse of tha A-Tune thing I said previously; I thought you were too smart fa dis, Dizzy? Damn, even tha 1st verse, too? I do think this iz catchy, especially tha hook; you don’t sound that bad wit tha A-Tune, luckily, so I won’t be too harsh on you! SMDH, even Mannie Fresh has it, too? Now he’s a no-no wit dat shit! Damn, this song’s rating’s gonna go downhill when I was wantin’ it ta be up there!! My Rating: 3.9 (I guess tha catchy hook and funny Dizzy kept tha rating up)

Overall: Of course, you know I felt this CD, Dizzy!! Glad you have your special producers, good features, and your P.C.O. perspective, still, Dizzy!! You know I fucks wit ya, ya dig? I gotta find your Facebook page and show you this review ‘cause I’m barely on MySpace anymore, which was how I showed you tha previous one. If all else fails, keep doin’ tha damn thang!! Actually, just found you on Facebook. I gon post tha review on your wall when you approve my friend request. But, due to people wit a lack of business and a documentary for class, I’m not checkin’ anything ‘til April 26.

Review #378: Max Minelli "Pain Medicine"

Reviewed on 12.30.2009 (Review #378)

It’s FrankieThaLuckyDog once again, back wit anotha review fa ya ear drums!! Originally, this was ‘pose ta be tha last review of tha year/decade. However, I got a Mouse mixtape afta this via online so that’ll be my last review until further notice. For now, let’s get inta this Christmas present: Here goes my review fa Max Minelli Pain Medicine! Start Time: 5:58 PM | End Time: 7:11 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. “I Can Feel It” Feat. Nicoya
I know you’re known fa startin’ off CDs in a REAL GOOD way! Let’s see how you do wit this one!! >>> I like tha beat here; it’s definitely interestin’. It reminds me of some otha beat I can’t think of… I like tha intro also wit tha CD’s theme goin’ on and you speakin’ in it. Tha lyrics sound good in tha 1st verse, lookin’ ta help err-body to tha fullest! A mysterious female on tha hook and she sounds pretty good contributin’ ta this. Tha 2nd verse was good fa what it was; comin’ through bein’ you. I thought there would be a 3rd verse ta this but it had a pretty good lil’ endin’ wit tha gurl and tha title. My Rating: 4.0
EDIT: Looked inside tha CD and it shows who tha gurlz are!

02. “Promises To Keep” Feat. Nicoya
I know this one, thanx to my boy Jimmy The DJ fa puttin’ it on his Gangsta Gumbo Vol. 3: Point Of No Return (Hosted by 1st Degree) mixtape! Here’s what went down when I first heard it: Okay, not bad for a start, luckily! I like tha “God gave me life, mom gave me birth” part. Sounds like you gon deliver buku lyrics on this one! Not sure about that hook. It ain’t that bad for a female. More on tha mainstream Young Jeezy sounding. Music Choice Rap doesn’t have this yet? Interestin’ lyrics in tha 2nd verse. Almost wasn’t sure which verse sounded betta but tha 2nd verse REALLY picked up towards tha near-end! <- To add: Tha hook sounds GR8 on this! Definitely a growth from 1st listen and tha “random female” again doin’ her thang! My Current Rating: 4.1

03. “Do It, Do It (Swagga Walk)”
And this too contributin’ here! I recently re-reviewed it and felt it more! Here’s what I had ta say: I didn’t get ta play it ‘cause I had a Mookie Blakk song “Swagga Walk” in rotation and I liked that one betta. Howeva, this sounds betta hearin’ it once again. Gotta luv that beat (somewhat soundin’ like DJ Felli Fel’s “Get Buck In Here”)! You do a pretty good job on this one and tha hook iz catchy. Tha 2nd verse fit wit tha 1st verse as it’s you at your swaggest, lol! Doin’ ya thang on tha 3rd verse too, Max. I don’t know what else ta say about this; you know I like it. My Current Rating: 4.0

04. “Louisiana Sky”
I really like tha title but that ain’t gonna exactly tell me ‘til I hear it! >>> Off to a pretty good start; I expect a whole lotta lyrics here… Tha 1st verse was okay fa what it was; I expected a lil’ more catchiness and more rhymes. Tha hook sounds good though; I like tha interestin’ title (when you “look at” it and all dat). Tha 2nd verse here iz more interestin’; glad you added more shit ta this verse ta keep tha listener’s brain focused. Some typical street feelings goin’ on in tha 3rd verse; pretty good verse. My Rating: 3.7

05. “Supa Charged” Feat. JonDo
Surprised of all tha familiar songs… Didn’t realize a lot of them leaked onta buku mixtapes and all dat! LOL @ not even one of tha songs from Pre-Med bein’ featured on this CD yet… Anyway: LOL @ tha beat intro; anotha beat on tha cool intro type! Almost sounds like your “I’m Coolin’” song wit tha “buzz kickin’ in” durin’ tha beginning. I really like this really slow beat here and tha hook iz pretty cool too; glad you “supa charged” on this shit! Wow, tha hook just keeps progressin’ and soundin’ REAL, REAL GOOD on tha beat!!! You have your top status here on tha 1st verse as you’re always glad how you’re respected err-where! Still doin’ tha damn thang on tha 2nd verse, feelin’ X-TRA good!! This was a cool song, ya dig! My Current Rating: 4.3

06. “Doors On A Lambo”
This iz a new one fa me. It looks like it’ll be on tha cool/interestin’ side; let’s see if I’m correct… >>> Almost sounded like some like 70’s R&B kicks in tha beginning… Tha beat iz pretty cool; nearly an ol’ skool twist added to tha beat here. You sound pretty cool in tha 1st verse too; didn’t expect a nice twist fa a song like this! Cool 1st verse here once again wit your catchy lyrics. Really, you don’t “need ta make a dance up” ta impress people. I’m lucky I’m impressin’ people wit tha shit I do fa Louisiana wit all my reviewz, commercials and havin’ my undaground Louisiana Rap radio show. Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good; interestin’ lyrics that give me a “zoo” feelin’ at times. You mixin’ in some cool shit here fa this song; I don’t know what ta expect from you, ya dig! My Rating: 4.2

07. “Lean On Me” Feat. Russell Lee
I heard a bunch of Russell Lee collaborations in tha past. Most of tha songs weren’t fa me so I don’t know how this one’ll feel; not sure if I heard it also… >>> Tha beat start sounds cool here; I might like it! Pretty good “goin’-through-stress-type” lyrics here. I thought I heard this before (maybe on a compilation?) but I couldn’t find a previous review… As for tha hook, it fits fa what it iz so thumbs up ta Russell Lee this time. Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ betta here; keepin’ tha lyrical content goin’ along here! We got anotha 3rd verse from you here and interestin’ about “tha world feelin’ like an elephant;” you DEFINITELY have catchy rhymes/lines dat come outta nowhere, ya dig! Nice job havin’ tha 3rd verse here, ya dig! My Rating: 4.1

½time: Off to a pretty good start. No matter if tha top rating here iz 4.3 or not, you’re holdin’ tha CD down ‘cause tha average CD rating iz at 4.1 right now; doin’ big thangz! How many copies did this sell in its 1st week? Keep grindin’!

08. “American Hustler”
I usually see UK people puttin’ “American” in their titles. You’re a Louisiana “American” boy so let’s see what makes this “American,” ya dig… >>> Tha start sounds a lil’ odd; I’m not big about samples at times… Sounds like tha beat gon have a pretty good kick in; yes, it did!! You got a good flow goin’ on here on tha 1st verse; soundin’ betta than tha intro! Nice job wit tha 1st verse and it sounds like you’re on tha top here wit tha hook. Tha sample doesn’t even matter now dat you’re on top of it as well as tha beat! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty good fa a start here too. I like tha “smell tha weed burn” part; tha boy Max feelin’ good! We still got anotha verse comin’ up so I know you gon add some catchy rhymes! Yup, you’re comin’ through wit some tight rhymes in tha 3rd verse too; tha streetz DEFINITELY luv you! My Rating: 3.9

09. “Money I Made Today” Feat. Russell Lee
Anotha Russell Lee collaboration… I like tha title so I hope you come through fa tha next 310 seconds (‘cause its length iz 5:10)! >>> This iz a lil’ different, more on tha mainstream soundin’ here. Somebody should pick this song up ‘cause it has a mainstream taste… Pretty good beat for tha mainstream outlets here and tha hook sounds good too once again from Russell Lee! Here you come on tha 1st verse, “gettin’ milked,” lol (as you said, “these hoes wanna milk me”); good line right there! You did ya thang on tha 1st verse, makin’ this a jam. Too bad Russell’s “English fucked up” (or if he’s referrin’ to a typical high school drop-out), but “he knows his Math,” so that’s a plus! You know I’m a beast wit Math and thanx to these reviewz, I became gr8 wit English as of last year! You got a good motivational tip for those “tryna make money,” ya dig. Nice job wit tha 2nd verse; let’s see tha next one! I like how tha rappin’ sounds without any of tha claps goin’ on in tha beginning of tha 3rd verse. Pretty good deliverin’ tha 3rd verse too, ya dig. My Rating: 4.0

10. “Can’t You Tell”
I can “tell” you’re doin’ a GR8 job wit this CD right chea!! Let’s see how you hold this track down by yaself… >>> Soundin’ NICE & creepy in tha beginning wit tha beat!! You DEFINITELY showin’ off your cool in tha hook; good shit right here! This iz catchy and I wonder what you gotta spit on tha verses here! Here’s tha 1st verse and it’s pretty catchy. You can handle any situation you get it so you KNOW you’re watz up! Tha 2nd verse iz on a decent/good level; I prolly would’ve expected a lil’ more catchiness this time ‘round but you sound betta now that I’m hearin’ tha end of tha 2nd verse. Tha start to tha 3rd verse sounds good wit tha “sleepin’ on my dreams wit tha triple beam” line (or whateva it was). Got tha hoods attracted ta watch this verse here so that’s a plus! My Rating: 4.1

11. “Be With You” Feat. LeToya
I feel a decent anticipation; let’s see… >>> I guess tha mysterious female gon sing on this one too? Sounds like one of those feel-good Summer-type songs in tha beginning here… It almost sounds like LeToya but I know it’s one of your local gurlz. Tha hook sounded like a turn on when hearin’ her so that’s a plus. Tha 1st verse was okay; it was more fit fa this song itself. Tha 2nd verse iz more on a decent level fa me… I don’t have much ta say about it; glad there’s at least one “takin’-a-break-type” song on this CD ta fit a different mood. Tha lil’ part of your 3rd verse was okay also. Tha gurl sounds like she’s singin’ a previous song from tha past. My Rating: 3.6

12. “Get Up Off Me” Feat. Derty
LOL, Derty on tha feature! I always hate that I could’ve been tha 1st one ta play Derty on tha radio if I had my Tha Louisiana Pit undaground Louisiana Rap radio show last year around this time (‘cause I had “Uh Oh” in November 2008)! Anyway, this iz an anticipated one fa me; lookin’ forward!! >>> Gotta feel tha Shonta feel here; he got some gutta/dark beats!! I easily predict a top-ranked song here! Tha hook sounds pretty good; you comin’ through, representin’ your tough side! You sound catchy on tha 1st verse; REAL GR8 flow here as you goin’ crazy! As much as tha 1st verse sounded cool wit tha way you delivered it, tha 2nd verse sounds pretty cool too; nice job wit tha catchy rhymes. ROFL, here comes Derty on tha 3rd verse @ 2:48!! Why iz he CDless? He sounded REAL GR8 fa contributin’, includin’ dat he sung Mookie Blakk’s “Rocky Balboa.” Nice job wit this collaboration right chea, ya dig! Kick-ass style here!! My Rating: 4.4

13. “Mama’s Only Son 2” Feat. Russell Lee
It says “2” here for tha version. However, I have a feelin’ on tha Max-A-Veli (The Realest Shit I Ever Wrote) mixtape, they didn’t put a “2” in tha ID so I prolly heard it. Lemme see… >>> So far, it sounds different so maybe, there’s no error. I recognized a Jennifer Lopez “If You Had My Love” sample in tha singin’ wit tha last one. However, if that one was just okay, then this ain’t gonna pull it off that good fa me… Not too interested in tha hook here… You sound okay wit tha rappin’ here on tha 1st verse. I might have ta offer a lyrical rating fa this one ‘cause it ain’t up ta my standards. Glad you seem motivated in tha 2nd verse too; at least you’re alive and still doin’ this Rap shit! Tha 3rd verse iz on some real shit here; I like tha “doctor” part and yea, Max, you “got a strong heart beat,” ya dig! Lyrical Rating: 4.6 | My Rating: 3.1

14. “What If I Don’t Make It”
To answer tha title: Then, you’ll STILL be recognized as a legend, ya dig! Let’s see what you got ta offer here… >>> I knew this was gonna be kinda not on my level… It’s a lil’ betta and catchier here. Tha beat iz okay and tha hook iz good for yourself. Tha 1st verse DEFINITELY iz true wit all tha shit you’re sayin’ (e.g., “If I would’ve wrote 1,000 bars”). A lotta people get underlooked. If you think you’re underlooked, look at me: I have a lack of attention and I don’t know why. That’s why I do everything I do, ESPECIALLY fa Louisiana!! I believe I gon be remembered as a legend but I don’t believe in dyin’! There’s NO WAY someone wit Autism dies in my opinion!! Tha 2nd verse was still motivational here so I’m givin’ you more props ta lettin’ tha unmotivated people know ta stay motivated! Glad you kept tha 3rd verse goin’ along too! Once again, offerin’ anotha lyrical rating here; it’s betta than tha last song! Lyrical Rating: 4.7 | My Rating: 3.8

15. “If It Wasn’t For Love” Feat. Frankie J
Oh, it’s this again, lol. This iz a good ending song and here’s why: More smooth shit here although Frankie sounds good on tha hook. Tha beat iz pretty good fa what it iz. Tha beat kicked in betta when you came through on tha 1st verse, Max! Still comin’ through wit those pretty good lyrics here! Glad you didn’t “play football” ‘cause football players I dealt wit in 2007 were all about bullshit! BULL-SHIT!! Not about real shit, ya dig! Tha 2nd verse pretty good wit tha lyrics fa this; sounds like you spit some powerful shit! Talk about powerful shit: Tha 3rd verse DEFINITELY has some powerful lyrics into tha body and err-thang, ya dig! Tha ending wit Frankie J sounded like it was strictly fa tha R&B peeps. My Current Rating: 3.8

Overall: This was an above average CD. You did ya thang, supplyin’ tha hood. There weren’t that many songs that were REALLY, REALLY capturin’ though. Glad you put out anotha CD though and I’m definitely lookin’ forward ta checkin’ out all your older CDs in my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon!
