Just
a few more hours before tha month ends… This CD I finna review from 2013 and
it’s sponsored by P.C.O. Entertainment, once again: Dizzy a.k.a. Raw D.I. The Gift
& The Curse! Start Time:
6:03 PM | End Time: 6:42 PM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything
after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening
to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or
talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01.
“Gift & The Curse”
Without
tha “The,” lol? >>> Nice piano to start this off… Sounds like we
slowed thangz down since tha Luv 4 Da
Streets disc… Tha hook sounds nice, and even though tha beat’s nice, it
sounds like this gon be more on a boring level than tha Luv 4 Da Streets songs? Either way, I fux witcha, Dizzy; gotta feel
your rhymes on tha 1st verse, includin’ those “cops sirens” at 1:17,
lol… Oh, and no hook, here? Yeah, this gon be boring fa 5:15; that’s real long,
especially wit no features… Overall, great rhymes, but too long fa an intro
track! My Rating: 3.5
02.
“Geto Boyz” feat. Raj Smoove
Here
comes tha Smoove in tha beginning of tha disc, once again… >>> Instantly
started, here, with anotha slower-soundin’ beat… Nice rhymes, once again, though
this kinda boring, too… Damn, anotha one without a hook? Oh, I hear it, but
damn, no transition in tha beat? Yuck… Nice mixin’ from Raj toward tha end of
this track… My Rating: 3.1
03.
“Shit 2getha” feat. UTP Skip
Yeah!
>>> Pretty aggressive wit tha beginning and that’s “Fuck you” movie
sample in tha beginning… Okay, this sounds much betta; hearin’ an actual hook with a beat transition
first, and it sounds nice! Yeah, I have ta agree wit this title, especially
during 2013, when I ain’t have my
“shit 2getha!” I was dick-suckin’ this dude (and, when I say that, I mean,
“Dickridin’,” but I stress my vulgar wording due to I got screwed in tha end)
from Baton Rouge, who’s a rapper/producer. He still owes me $400 for me savin’
his career and it sux how tha whole year was him, him, him, and he blocked me!
It’s like, R.I.P. 2013 fa me! Anyway, nice shit from you on tha 1st
verse, Dizzy; gotta feel how you puttin’ it down on tha track, here… Hearin’
Skip on tha 2nd verse and he’s got tha aggressive voice, too; gotta
luv how he comes through hard on tha track! Dizzy, here you are on tha 3rd
verse (almost thought tha whole UTP was on this, accordin’ to tha ID, but it
just says, “UTP Skip,” which iz just Skip); nice job, Diz! And, endin’ it wit a
quick lil’ snippet from that movie, once again… My Rating: 4.2
04.
“Bananaz”
Whoooooot!!
>>> Beat Doctor on tha beat, here… Diggin’ tha beat, here; a catchier,
slower beat with a nice hook wit you goin’ “bananaz!” Wow @ tha 1st
verse: “Eat your body like… cancer;” interestin’ how you spit dat… Once again,
you doin’ a nice job wit tha 1st verse, spittin’ like you need to
spit rhymes… Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re ready fa tha hoes,
here, wit how you describin’ their actions as “bananaz,” lol… “Bitch, I’m from New Orleans, hear it in
my grammar;” already! “Ya heard me!” A nice lil’ bridge/outro, here, with those
few spots you mentioned dat go “bananaz.” LOL, there weren’t that many spots…
Also, hope there’s a faster-soundin’ song on this CD, too…; you need them
faster club bangaz, Dizzy! My Rating: 4.1
05.
“So Faded” feat. Mugsy & Rantz Davis
>>>
Sounds nice and scary for tha beginning beat… Um, it went from a gay-soundin’
voice in tha bcakground to a hot-soundin’, synth-soundin’ beat! Nice job wit
tha 1st verse, Dizzy, handlin’ tha beat well…! Hearin’ tha hook and
it’s that voice… Even though it sounds weird, at least tha beat and tha content
of bein’ “faded” sounds nice! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty nice, too,
here; good shit… Hearin’ Mugsy on tha 3rd verse and it’s good, even
though tha Luv 4 Da Streets times
sounded catchier… My Rating: 4.2
½time: This album was off to a
boring start, but it picked up slightly toward tha 2nd ¼… So far,
tha CD rating’s at a 3.8; let’s keep this goin’…
06.
“Ever Since” feat. Kourtney Heart
Once
I saw Kourtney’s name, I instantly thought of Magnolia Shorty… >>> Not
feelin’ tha beginning beat; sounds real soft… Even though this has a bounce
vibe in tha beat, I’m not really into this. Kourtney ain’t too bad, like a
Jennifer Hudson on tha hook, but I’m not too crazy about this R&B-soundin’
shit… Here’s you on tha 1st verse and it sounds like you’ve been
inflicted by your “brother” and his death…
Okay, a quicker verse, this time; at least it’s not that long… Here’s tha 2nd
verse and did “fuck” get censored? An okay verse… Even got Kourtney on tha lil’
bridge, here, missin’ ‘em… My Rating: 2.8
07.
“Downtown Nigga” feat. 8-9 Boyz & Kidd Kidd
Nice
collab? >>> Samplin’ SWV and their “Downtown,” here; makes sense… I’m
diggin’ how y’all turned this into a 2013 version, fa tha N.O., here… Hearin’
tha beginning and it sounds nice… Okay, keepin’ it goin’ wit these 8-9 Boyz;
sound okay to hear… Glad to hear that err-body on they grind… Good ta hear you,
too, here… Kidd on tha 3rd verse, here, soundin’ good ta collab wit,
as well. Props fa shoutin’ out Sess 4-5’s “Nuthin’ But Fire Records,” too. My Rating: 4.2
08.
“Fuck A Hook” feat. Paasky & 3D Na’Tee
Before
tha “Hot Nigga” no-hook song, lol? >>> Beat’s only decent, here, but
it works… Here you are on tha 1st verse and you’re comin’ through
wit some nice shit, at least… Either way, this just a decent combination,
between tha verse and tha beat; nothing striking for me… No “hook,” just like
tha title, and it’s Paasky on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through
wit regular-soundin’ rhymes… We got Na’Tee on tha 3rd verse, here,
and she’s got some nice rhymes, here… Yeah, how can they call her “average?”
She’s always been holdin’ tha rhymes down! My
Rating: 3.8
09.
“24/7” feat. Mugsy & Teco
Nice
collab, once again? >>> Sounds nice with a B.G. sample and that “24/7”
repeatin’ on tha hook, as well as Teco holdin’ tha hook down, on this beat…
Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds good from you, Diz; keep holdin’
it down… Hearin’ Mugsy on tha 2nd verse and it’s an okay verse fa
me; tha flow’s a lil’ catchy, with how it’s delivered… You’re on tha 3rd
verse, here, Dizzy…; ehh, it’s okay. I mean, there’s nothin’ wrong wit this
joint; it just doesn’t strike me easily, like tha older songs… Oh yeah, I like
when tha “7” repeats, in tha beat, like, “7—7—7—7—7—7—7,” lol… My Rating: 3.7
10.
“2 Fli”
Yup!
>>> Beat’s a lil’ soft for this ending track, which kinda fits…
Hearin’ you on tha 1st verse and it sounds like it passes tha test,
at least… Bleh, a sample on tha hook; it’s whateva… Tha 2nd verse’s
only okay, too; nothin’ special, here… My
Rating: 2.5
Overall: I’ono… This was just a
decent album for me; nothin’ really strikin’ outta it… Only a 4.2’s my highest
rating? I’ono… Prolly could’ve had a few faster beats, but not really on tha
R&B side… Also, a few tracks bored me with too many rhymes and a lack of
transitioning tha beats… But, hopefully, you’ll be hittin’ me up when you drop
a new disc; lemme know!
Rankings:
10. “2 Fli” 2.5
09. “Ever Since” feat. Kourtney Heart 2.8
08. “Geto Boyz” feat. Raj Smoove 3.1
07. “Gift & The Curse” 3.5
