Review #1,501: Ganksta Mac "Fleetwood Mac (The Mixtape)"

Reviewed on 6.08.2016 (Review #1,501)

Illegal Currency Entertainment Presents Ganksta Mac Fleetwood Mac (The Mixtape), named after tha old band. My 1,501st review, here, I got this sent to me via Facebook before last year ended. However, I had no time to get to it till now, so here it goes! Start Time: 7:18 PM | End Time: 8:01 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. Fleetwood Intro
>>> Production sounds nice… Sounds more like it could be an album, rather than a “mixtape.” Do I get a shout out? I’m not really in a review mood, so I feel annoyed, a lil’… Ahh, tha “diamond in tha back, sunroof top…” singin’!! My Rating: N/A

02. “Swang Wide” feat. Frank Nitty & Lavish
>>> Was wondering what was up wit tha first 10 seconds… Now, here’s tha 1st verse and it sounds catchy with these vocals… I’ono about tha beat, though, since it kinda sounds like “Hot Nigga”, a lil’. Kinda random with how this 1st verse sounds, but it ain’t bad ta hear… Hook’s pretty plain with this repetitive hook; kinda disappointed… Like, seein’ this title, I instantly think of a southern vibe, not a NY, “Hot Nigga” vibe… Here we go with tha 2nd verse from Frank Nitty, here, comin’ through wit random rhymes…; okay, what’s next…? Lavish on tha 3rd verse, here, and it’s whateva; forget tha rest of this… Tha start of tha last hook at 3:42 sounded off-beat fa a second! My Rating: 2.6

03. “Werk Werk (Twerk Twerk)” feat. Big Curb
>>> Not bad with tha energetic production and tha 1st verse’s okay, so far… Tha hook’s catchy; at least it goes with tha beat, this time… Tha 2nd verse sounds like a random dude spittin’ random shit; bleh… Tha 3rd verse sounds like some good Louisiana rhymes with tha “stupid/retarded,” but I’ont think it goes with this beat… My Rating: 3.0

04. “Hold Dat Noiz”
>>> Where’s my manager? Lemme quote her: “Really?” Like, tha Young Ready track? That’s what it sounds like, to me, with tha beat… Tha hook’s boring fa me with tha repetitiveness… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and I’m not really feelin’ it too much; it’s just okay fa me, since tha beat throws me off… I mean, it may be an original beat but at tha same time, it sounds too similar to tha Young Ready one, especially with tha title… Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ more energetic, but it sounds like you’re soundin’ a lil’ lazy with tha delivery, at times… My Rating: 2.5

05. “Clean Up Man (Free B.G.)”
>>> Beat ain’t too bad; tha hook ain’t too bad, either, even though I don’t see much interest in this… Nothin’ much ta say about tha 1st verse, here… Hearin’ tha hook again and this sounds like some random New Orleans “real rap” or somethin’ that I’m not that big about… And, nothin’ ta say about tha 2nd verse; I think I had enough of this track, lol… Just sick of hearin’ that title!! No 3rd verse? A long outro…? Also, smh @ tha producer’s tag appearin’ again! My Rating: 1.7

06. “Let ‘Em Hate” feat. Mac Cezer & King Ryce
>>> Likin’ this beat, as it sounds like somethin’ nice fa tha streetz… Hearin’ tha hook and even though it’s kinda repetitive, it ain’t too bad… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it sounds like this dude (Mac Cezer?) tryna rap at a rapid pace; it aight, tho… Unfortunately, with tha way this CD’s been goin’, my excitement’s really dry… Time for tha 2nd verse…; sounds good. As far as King Ryce on tha 3rd verse, I’ono what it was with him, at one point (I forget), but even though this nice, it’s gonna go out tha otha ear when this track’s over… Still, not bad… My Rating: 3.8

½time: Wow, not off to a good start at all! A 3.8 iz tha highest rated, followed by a 3.0? Just not really feelin’ how tha tracks sound; not really my Louisiana sound… Either way, keep grindin’! Only a 2.7-rated CD, so far…

07. Pimp C (The Industry) (Skit)
>>> True; “tha songs aren’t dat good; tha album ain’t dat good.” Unfortunately, I can agree wit him wit this CD, so far. But yeah, if you love an artist, you gon support them! For example: I fucks wit my boy, Doe-Doe, from Baton Rouge, right now! Even though he ain’t been in tha music biz in a minute, I have faith in him to put somethin’ new out! His undeniable talent makes me wanna get him richer and try and put success in his pocket! When I blow up, he comin’ wit me!! My Rating: N/A

08. “20 Thousand Dollaz” feat. Hurk & Big Curb
>>> Beat sounds nice and so does tha hook… Hearin’ tha 1st verse and it’s pretty nice; feelin’ tha energy… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and I wanna just skip it, or pretend I’m listenin’ ‘cause all it’s sayin’ iz “money, tha money,” yada-yada-yada… Could care less about tha 3rd verse, here, with tha “money” bullshit, too… I’ono, tha 1st verse sounded nice fa a topic about “money,” but tha rest of this can go… My Rating: 2.4

09. Don Juan Cadillak Pimpin’ (Interlude)
>>> Nice message about tha “pimp game,” lol. My Rating: N/A

10. “Fleetwood Muzik”
>>> So far, this off to a better start… Feelin’ tha slow, laidback vibe that was meant for that “Swang” song… Nice job with tha beginning; let’s see how tha rest of this goes… Tha 1st verse sounded nice and so did tha hook; nice production… Tha 2nd verse kinda bores me with this slow vibe, here… My Rating: 3.7

11. “Smoke Somethin’, Drank Somethin’” feat. ELocc & OLEBAY
>>> Beat and vibe sounds nice, but tha 1st verse all random wit tha rhymes… Remakin’ old music on tha hook’s vocals, here…; sounds good ta hear… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, here… And, a long, 48-second outro, here… My Rating: 3.4

12. Zydeco History (Interlude)
Buck Wheat, here… >>> Nice lil’ check in… My Rating: N/A

13. “Zydeco Wit Me” feat. Altonio OSR TRX
>>> Sounds much louder than tha previous tracks? Like, tha others’ volumes weren’t brought up? Really different with tha instruments, here; sounds happy and kinda interesting… Tha hook ain’t too bad; at least it’s happy, I guess? Tha 1st verse kinda random-soundin’, but it ain’t bad… Hearin’ tha hook again and it kinda sounds like it’s tryna be tha sequel (or jack?) tha “Cupid Shuffle”… Tha rest of this just keeps tha vibe goin’… My Rating: 2.9

Overall: Just below-average fa me, here… Could’ve been better as far as how tha songs sounded… Thought it would’ve been a lil’ more underground sounding, at times, but yeah, you see what I said for each one… Still, keep tha discs comin’!
