Review #1,405: De-C "Country Talkin', Gangsta Walkin'"

Reviewed on 5.31.2014 (Review #1,405)

Got anotha review I finna do. This one, straight outta Double D Records, iz De-C Country Talkin’, Gangsta Walkin’. I actually know of De-C, as he released Da Struggle, back in 2001. Even though I still haven’t had tha chance to review it, he discovered me on Twitter, after finding one of my radio edits I did for him. So, until I can get tha old reviewz done with, at least my radio edits are up online fa artists of tha past, like him, ta discover me! I wonder what this CD gon sound like? Not sure why he called it a “mixtape,” since it looks like an album? He even reached bronze status with this CD, on DatPiff, as it was downloaded 25,685 times, since February 19, 2013! Now, I gon be tha next listener ta hear this! Start Time: 7:48 PM | End Time: 10:00 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

© 2014 CD Review (Review #1,405) reviewed on 5.31.2014 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Get Me (Intro)”
>>> It has that mid-2000s feel; feelin’ it! Speakin’ of, it’s ironic ‘cause today’s tha Grind Tyme Entertainment owner, Big Cliff, who put out Lil’ Handy’s birthday today! Just gotta luv tha production and I’m feelin’ you gettin’ it on ya own! My Rating: 4.4

02. “Huh Bruh!!” Feat. Black Da Kid
Of course, diggin’ tha title… >>> More nice production; you have a nice, ageless ear fa beats! Nice intro, too; sounds like it gon be a great collaboration! “Puffin’ on dat, you know;” yeah! Pretty nice 1st verse; I’m definitely feelin’ what you got goin’ on, here! “Poppin’ pillz;” that true Louisiana sound that’s missing, at tha moment! We need to bring back that excitement, and this iz where tha excitement’s at!! “Huh bruh;” gotta luv tha hook!! Definitely tha kinda shit I appreciate!! Tha 2nd verse from Black, I believe’s pretty nice, too; well, it’s okay, but tha sound really pulls off! And, here you are on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through like a “dawg;” nice! LOL @ tha “Yeah, I’m country; not hillbilly like yee-haw,” lol! Good shit, even though err-body where I live at’s too much into country music! It doesn’t make sense fa teenagers! They’re all goin’ to a concert tomorrow, no less!! My Rating: 4.8

03. “GooD”
>>> Anotha quality-soundin’ production; whoo @ tha hook, once again!! Really feelin’ your “GooD” vibes, between what you poppin’ & smokin’! “Fragile like glass;” just like that—simple! Dope 1st verse! Tha 2nd verse sounds nice, with these inches of sizes! Nice job with tha verse, once again! Tha 3rd verse iz really consistent!! “Eatin’ niggaz like alligators;” you can’t be stopped!! My Rating: 4.5

04. “DoDatDin” Feat. Li Reep
>>> Oh, “Din” = “Den,” or, “Then,” lol. Feelin’ tha club sound, here; nice hook! You keepin’ tha excitement up! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice from you; keep it goin’! Tha faster tha beats, tha faster your flow iz! Feelin’ tha 2nd verse, too; lots ta say! Even you can get away with, “Keepin’ my money long,” ‘cause of how fast this sounds! It, just, was randomly thrown in there, and you weren’t cocky about it! Kinda has a No Limit feel to it, in a 2010s, Baton Rouge-kinda perspective! Now, we got Reep on tha 3rd verse; he sounds just as good, too! My Rating: 4.6

05. “Stop Fakin’”
I know, right? Title’s nice and directed at all those from Louisiana who took advantage of me! Bitch-ass niggaz who couldn’t rely a fuckin’ message to help me out, with a situation that’s still bothering me, to this day! >>> This sounds catchy; true shit about their “ass always [bein’] broke!” “I shit on you niggaz;” exactly what I do ta rappers when they bitch-play me…, literally! Nice job wit tha 1st verse; tight-ass shit! Tha 2nd verse’s pretty nice, too! “Smoke on good” iz right! LOL @ tha “like Popeye and eat ya some spinach” random line. And, a 55-second beat outro, here… My Rating: 4.4

06. “JustNot2Nite” Feat. BigA & CJG
>>> Feelin’ tha beginning, here, with tha production. Nice lyrics on tha 1st verse from this feature (BigA?)! Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit some nice rhymes; feelin’ how you comin’ through, in this tough “world.” Tha 3rd verse from you sounds good, too; true, street shit! It’s all about survivin’, includin’ survivin’ from those that don’t believe in you! My Rating: 4.3

07. “My Life” Feat. Li Reep
>>> A sample on tha hook, here; it actually sounds pretty nice with this beat! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice from Reep… Tha 2nd verse sounds good from you, too. BTW, why all tha silence at tha end of tha songs? My Rating: 4.2

08. “FreshOutDaKitchen”
>>> Anotha nice sample, on tha hook; sounds more southern, too, and this beat’s pretty good. Likin’ tha vibe you got goin’ on with tha 1st verse… And, tha rest was good, too! Nice drug shit! My Rating: 4.3

½time: Very consistent and nice CD, so far!! A 4.4 for tha CD rating; keep tha real Baton Rouge music up!!

09. “RoundHere” Feat. BigA
>>> Likin’ tha “thuggin’” shit on tha hook; nice beat, too! Tha 1st verse iz nice from this “30”-year-old A! Nice Baton Rouge perspective from you on tha 2nd verse, here… Nice shout outs of tha cities of Louisiana, at tha end, too. My Rating: 4.4

10. “OverRated (Fuck A Friend)”
Exactly! That’s my tone of attitude! >>> Oh, not an original production, but it still sounds like it fits… Tha hook’s catchy; I’m feelin’ what you got goin’ on, here, with tha middle finger to havin’ friends! Good shit on tha 1st verse; I’m glad you’re on tha same page as me… And, tha 2nd verse tells tha truth, too; who gives a flyin’ “fuck” about anyone else! I didn’t realize err-body in Louisiana ain’t down ta help; it’s like, since when was everyone always “a hoe”? My Rating: 4.0

11. “Rat”
>>> I like tha “rat” and “cheese,” on tha hook; catchy… I’m feelin’ how you came up from “tha block,” on tha 1st verse, here… Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too, with your motivation. My Rating: 4.1

12. “WhatUSmokinOn”
>>> Nice “smokin’ on” hook, with tha beat. Iz that “T-Lo” tha same dude from Da Jiggalaters? Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse. Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too. Sorry, I’m havin’ a nervous breakdown and need to get away from everyone in Louisiana. I dunno why people fake-care about me; I wish everyone would just leave me alone!! My Louisiana connection’s dead!! R.I.P. Louisiana for me! 10.11.2007 – 2.05.2014! My Rating: 4.3

13. “Baby” Feat. Vicky
>>> An okay beat; regular rhymes from you on tha 1st verse, but with this somewhat-boring sound, why iz it 4:54? And, there’s, like, no hook; bleh… Boring 2nd verse… And, a 3rd verse from this Vicky chick; nothin’ really poppin’ off, here. My Rating: 2.7

14. “Damn!! (Pt. 2)”
>>> Hmm, based off tha previous song, and this intro, it sounds like this CD’s goin’ downhill, with this softness… But, I guess it’s in tha right spot on tha CD (toward tha end). Boring beat, and not really into these depressing songs… Tha hook doesn’t make sense with tha exclamation points; I thought this was gon be a club banga! And, anotha song over four minutes; why greedy lengths? Too boring fa me… My Rating: 2.3

15. “Thank God” Feat. BigMayne
>>> “God,” why a gay voice on tha hook??? Flo Rida doesn’t make rap music, anymore! What was tha 1st verse? I guess, it was okay. Damn, why 4:29? Was that intended to piss me off? Regular rhymes from you on tha 2nd verse, here. And, tha 3rd verse’s drug references sound weird in this; this beat doesn’t equal tightness for drug references. My Louisiana connection died when DJ B-Real blocked me on February 5, 2014; he still owes me $400 for gettin’ his stolen equipment back! No one wanna tell him to unblock me, or give me his new number, so I’m like, “Fuck Louisiana!” My Rating: 2.4

16. “Nothin’ (Lil’ Wayne Remix)” Feat. SlumLife
Low anticipation level on this Lil’ Wayne remix… >>> Catchy on tha hook with tha Wayne sample, as well as this beat. It seems like we’re in 2008 again, or somethin’? Okay, tha 1st verse from SlumLife’s a lil’ off-beat; decent… Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit good rhymes and a flow. My Rating: 3.8

17. “LateNites”
>>> Beat gives this a lil’ bit of a mainstream vibe…; sounds okay, with tha 1st verse and hook. Only one verse? Wow. My Rating: 3.5

Overall: Real nice beginning (first 12 songs), but then, it got sour toward tha end. You had a great ear for beats, throughout tha beginning. Your style and Baton Rouge representation’s awesome! Keep it up!

Review #1,404: Tha Kidd AJC "Rehab"

Reviewed on 5.30.2014 (Review #1,404)

Have absolutely no time fa reviewz, at tha moment. Let’s hope I can stop reviewin’ for a while, so I can catch up on my own shit, soon. Here goes my review fa Rich Kidd Entertainment’s Tha Kidd AJC Rehab. Start Time: 7:58 PM | End Time: 8:50 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! 01. Rehab (Intro)
>>> I don’t get err-body with these movie skits fa skits and intros… Good “weed” shit. My Rating: N/A

02. “Come Down” Feat. Murda Millz
I hope there’s no repeat songs on this CD ‘cause I don’t even have time to check anything… >>> Cool background beat in tha beginning, but fa’real, I ain’t got no time fa these gay-ass vocals on tha hook!! Would just skip, but I’ll continue ta listen… Here you are on tha 1st verse, and it sounds good ova this beat… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse and it’s good/aight, once again. I still think it sux that DJ B-Real completely ruined my Louisiana connection, three months ago. I’ll neva be able ta luv current music and put it on my playlist, anymore… :( At least 1 ½ points are bein’ taken off from that hook; how gay it sounded! What was Murda Millz thinking?? My Rating: 2.3

03. “Eyes Wide Open”
>>> Tha beat from tha last song was better, but this ain’t too bad. A lil’ bit on tha East Coast tip; I’m feelin’ how tha beat sounds around 1:13… You sound like B.O.B., here; it’s pretty good with this vibe. After almost two minutes, tha hook’s here; sounds good… Tha 2nd verse iz pretty good. Speakin’ of “lost,” one of my old classmates lost their battle with drugs, last night; pretty shocking. I haven’t really talked to them since tha Kindegarten dayz, but my mom kept in touch with their mom… My Rating: 3.9

04. “Havin’ Thangs”
Original production from you, here. >>> Barry White on tha beat sample, here… Tha hook ain’t too bad; sounds like a regular song. Tha 1st verse’s regular, too; regular rappin’, here… Tha 2nd verse’s aight, too. Oh, you’re my age; I must’ve not’ve known… Bein’ in tha game for a while, I almost thought you were older… Good shit, but a lil’ quote-like when you said, “I went from negative to positive…” My Rating: 3.7

05. “Dat Life”
Muggz beat. >>> Kinda cocky on tha hook… I dunno, this beat sounds very mainstream, but I’m liking it a lil’ more than usual, here… Tha 1st verse’s flow’s nice; I feel it… Too many “money” / “racks” references at 1:32? Boring part… Tha 2nd verse’s cocky, too… I thought this was aight; a regular-soundin’ mainstream song, fa me… My Rating: 3.3

06. “Shine Bright”
>>> Not really into tha East Coast beat, again; at least this iz short… Tha hook sounds like you’re feelin’ good; decent, fa me… Tha verse aight; decent… I agree: “Sometimes, you gotta take a loss;” I took two in Louisiana, after bein’ robbed twice. That’s why, I have a job now, and am doin’ everything in my strength to get away from err-body in Louisiana! My Rating: 3.1

07. Sir Smoke A Lot (Skit)
>>> Anotha good skit from a movie. My Rating: N/A

08. “The High Life”
>>> This East Coast-soundin’ beat’s a lil’ betta, for a “high” song… Not-sourced lady on tha hook? Doesn’t even sound Louisiana or an original track; ehh… Glad you said, “Long Island,” in tha beginning of tha 1st verse (where I’m from). But, why mention, “B.O.B., Wiz Khalifa,” etc.? They’re not Louisiana rappers…; no need ta think too mainstream! Rhymes in both tha 1st verse and 2nd verse are aight; kinda mainstream, fa me, though. My Rating: 3.5

½time: I think this a good effort fa a CD, though tha scores have been decent fa me, so far… A 3.3 for tha CD rating, currently. Maybe, go back to tha Louisiana sound, and stay away from this overrated, “not” different, East Coast sound?

09. 1-Hit Wonder (Skit)
>>> Okay. My Rating: N/A

10. “Smoke Weed, Fuck Bitches”
>>> Beat’s pretty good; tha evasive rhymes on tha 1st verse sound good. If this was 2011 or somethin’, before I got robbed, I would’ve prolly been like, “OMG, I wanna smoke wit you, in tha future; this song gon get a 4.5 rating from me, and it makes me feel good!” My passionate-soundin’ dayz are over! Tha 2nd verse aight, too; I agree with you with, “These niggaz ain’t doin’ shit.” At first, I would think, “Ahh, anotha dude pokin’ at anotha dude,” but honestly, it’s tha truth! So many can’t even rely a message to DJ B-Real; it’s like, how pussy can you be to not rely a message to someone that could’ve recovered my Louisiana passion? Oh well, I’m just gonna keep fallin’ off! My Rating: 3.8

11. “Living Life”
>>> Almost was concerned that it was gonna be a jacked-beat track of tha Rich Homie Quan & Problem “Walk Thru” track… Either way, an okay 1st verse… At :42, tha beat sounds good with tha sounds, though pop-rappy, fa me… Oh, that’s tha hook; decent. Tha 2nd verse has much betta rhymes; really diggin’ these punchlines! “Mario-Kart me,” lol… My Rating: 4.0

12. “Pussy N Get Paid” (Doonie Feat. Tha Kidd AJC)
Different that you’re on tha feature, here… >>> Good intro from AJC, as well as this interesting beat… This sounds much betta from what I’ve been previously listening to, on this CD. A unique voice on tha hook, here, though I think it’s just an online voice? Neva mind, it’s Doonie; completely tricked me! Here he iz on tha 1st verse; definitely feelin’ it! Don’t even have to think any further that this my top-rated song on here! “My self-esteem high;” yup! It’s like that while I’m at work! People don’t understand why it so high! Well, I try to counterattack B-Real’s depressing, unmotivational emotions/choices. Not to mention, who doesn’t luv donuts? Great verse, Doonie; broke down how ta lay tha dick down! Here you are on tha 2nd verse, and it’s only aight. Doonie years younger than you, and he a lot better… Your rhymes are so one-dimensional, a bunch of times, here; anyone can come up with what you sayin’… Nice outro startin’ at 3:11 from a screwed Doonie! Strictly sounds like a mysterious gangsta from tha ‘90s! My Rating: 4.4

13. “The Way I’m Feeling” Feat. Quincy Tracie & Judah T
An original production from you, once again. >>> Beat’s got a good vibe to it; might have to get used to these vocals on tha hook, though… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it sounds aight, so far, from you… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, here, and you can tell it’s a ‘90s baby, based off tha “if you ain’t gettin’ money” attitude. Really, WTF’s up with this “money” obsession? How many times does he have to reference somethin’ about “money”? And, a “virgin”’s a “virgin;” sometimes, you can’t help life, like my autistic self, at times! My Rating: 2.9

14. “J Vershae Flow” (J Vershae)
>>> Terrible start?? Damn, 28 second—oh God, it’s in tha background, too, that sample?? Too bad tha LiveMixtapes upload didn’t list this as J Vershae as tha artist, here; it ain’t hard ta tell, despite me neva hearin’ of this dude… Sounds like a ‘90s baby with tha voice, like, mid-‘90s… Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it ain’t too bad; maybe, a lil’ young fa me ta luv…? An okay song fa me, but a lil’ bit of a deduction ‘cause of that shitty sample, at times, even though it ain’t tha worst… My Rating: 3.2

15. “Summer Breeze” Feat. Young Swagga
You on tha beat, again. >>> No, not anotha sample, not even soundin’ rap, in tha beginning! What a turn off, just like all these dance-music producers tryna go country or some shit, smh! Not really diggin’ tha sample on tha hook, though tha beat’s pretty nice… Hearin’ tha 1st verse from you, and it’s more like a tryin’-to-get-away-from-depressions-type of song, here, which I neva am that crazy about… Not too bad of a verse from you… Not really lookin’ forward ta hearin’ tha Swagga dude on tha 2nd verse, though… Well, not terrible; it’s aight. I feel like this joint’s trollin’; seems too long? Like, 4:36, really? Long-soundin’ hook with barely anything goin’ on, as well as a long-ass beat outro? My Rating: 2.2

16. “Life Story” Feat. Bang & Murda Millz
>>> I like your intros on tha tracks, with tha, “…Smokin’ that good shit; Rehab!” However, this anotha slow-soundin’ song fa me, just like tha previous song… Got a lil’ betta with tha East Coast, ‘90s-soundin’ hip-hop beat during tha 1st verse… Hook’s boring fa me; bring back tha Louisiana sound! Tha 2nd verse from Bang’s aight; a better voice, and some good rhymes, just like your 1st verse… What? A normal voice from Murda Millz on tha 3rd verse, this time? I luv how he doesn’t fuck it up this time ‘cause it’s a real song… Nice job with tha rhymes, though this iz too long, overall, which makes it boring. Beat got quieter and got into tha background, durin’ tha final hook. My Rating: 2.5

17. “The World Is Yours”
>>> Like, really? Why would I have wanted to guess that this was tha Nas track, in tha background, smh? Not cool; can’t you just produce your own tracks? But, tha rhymes are consistent, ova this beat… BTW, what’s up with tha 12 seconds of silence, at tha end? Just ‘cause it’s an ending song, doesn’t mean that there should be that much silence, at tha end! My Rating: 3.6

Overall: Seemed to be just about average, fa me. Your East Coast vibe was aight; I’m not too crazy about that kinda shit, especially bein’ from that coast. But, it looks like I was right about Doonie’s song bein’ my best; nothin’ came close! Just luv how he comes through on tha track! But yea, keep grindin’; don’t get too caught up in samples and tha overrated East Coast!

Review #1,403: CMG Presents "Chapter One"

Reviewed on 5.29.2014 (Review #1,403)

It’s FrankieThaLuckyDog here, with a different kinda review. This one iz for Memphis, TN and Yo Gotti’s Cocaine Muzik Group, a.k.a. CMG! This iz their latest release, Chapter One! It was released last week, and I had wanted to review it this past Sunday, which was Team Yayo’s II Eyes’ birthday. However, work was too much, at times, and it took me ‘til now. But, thanx to tha success of Snootie Wild’s “Yayo” collaboration with Yo Gotti, I’ve branched out into tha Memphis underground scene! Shout out ta those affiliated with Team Yayo and all that! Gotta give props ta Snootie’s people fa hittin’ me up via Twitter, after all of tha support I’ve shown them! So, without further or do, let’s see how this Memphis review goes! Start Time: 6:16 PM | End Time: 7:37 PM

01. Yo Gotti Feat. Wave Chapelle “Talk 2 ‘Em”
A track by Nonstop, here; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this, especially with that remade name, on tha feature, lol! >>> A calm, piano start, here… Hearin’ Gotti on tha 1st verse… Okay lyrics and flow, but it sounds catchy. Tha hook ain’t too bad, though it didn’t seem like a transition… Now, hearin’ tha Wave Chapelle dude on tha 2nd verse… Sounds better than Gotti, here; feelin’ tha consistent, faster-version-of-Problem-kinda voice… I have to say: I’m startin’ to hate that word, “Hitta;” just say, “Nigga!” Would’ve been an okay rating ‘til tha 2nd verse picked it up! And, nice ending ta complete an intro track! My Rating: 4.0

02. Snootie Wild Feat. K Camp “Made Me”
I think I had remembered googling this randomly, like, two months ago… Big Fruit doin’ tha beat, here (“Money Baby”… “Beep”, lol!). I know this dat fiyah!! >>> First time I heard Camp, I thought he was super gay with tha voice and shit on “Money Baby”. But, he started becomin’ addicting after “Cut Me Off”! Tha hook’s pretty catchy from him, once again! Background vocals sound like Ca$h Out, here… And, wow, gotta luv Snootie on tha 1st verse!! I literally thought I was listenin’ to Kevin Gates, again, just like my first listen of “Yayo”! “Get it out tha mud like it taste like gravy;” Snootielicious, lol? Really feelin’ tha catchy-ass flow and great rhymes!! Great street shit! Yes, a 2nd verse from Snootie; get it in!! LOL @ tha lack of rhymes from 2:12 – 2:24; it was a catchy part, though! #GoMode!! Oh yeah, as far as this beat, it aight, but when you got Snootie on it, as well as Camp, it’s a win! My Rating: 4.6

03. Snootie Wild Feat. Fabolous, Jadakiss, French Montana & YG “Yayo (Remix)”
Yeah!! Just debuted on Music Choice last week, and it seems like we got tha world at our hands, with tha hottest joint of tha year!! Been fallin’ behind with listenin’ to some songs, lately, so this gon be my first official first listen of tha remix! Just like tha original, it’s produced by K Figz! >>> I dunno about French Montana and his, “Hahhh,” intro on every song, now… And, with this song, here’s tha original hook; gotta still luv it!! Maybe, tha catchiest voice of tha year, fa me!! Fab on tha 1st verse, here; consistent rhymes! He got shit on lock, here; he can handle a hot joint, without a filler! LOL, tha 2nd hook had a background vocal from Yo Gotti (“I am…”). Surprised they didn’t keep him on tha remix, but it’s time for my homestate of NY to takeover? LOL, 2nd verse iz Snootie’s original 1st verse! “Wappo!!” I know every word, and sing it so many times, while drivin’! It gives me that energy at work! They be like, “You been up since 3:15 AM; how you so wide awake?” Tha answer: “Prrrrr!!!,” it’s “Yayo”!! Tha 3rd hook: Y’all even got tha beat goin’ into tha background and shit, too; nice! Here comes Jada on tha 3rd verse: Of course, he knows his “yayo!” He even know of “Type Of Way”, too, lol; err-body on they southern knowledge! LOL @ his “yayo”ness toward tha end of tha 3rd verse—you know, tha bitches! Get it? Like that “White Girl”? Got YG on tha 4th verse, and he has a great, consistent verse! His mainstream singles can be played out and ehh, but hearin’ this shit and it sounds much catchier!! Really feelin’ all tha “oooooh” shit during tha 4th minute!! What catchiness!! And, French Montana jumped in for a—I’ll consider it a 5th verse; catchiness, again! “Buku,” right? Yeah! “Chicken noodle,” too, lol? Lots of “yayo” catchy, consistentness!! LOL, best thing: When Snootie was on 106 & Park, 23 dayz ago, I had a customer that I said, “How may I wake up your Tuesday?,” and they were like, “With cocaine!” I then said, “Yayo, huh?” I made them their coffee, and I was like, “Since you said, ‘Cocaine,’ you have a yayolicious Tuesday,” lol! Got a good laugh; neva thought “yayo” would come into play at my job, especially in a greeting!! But, tha original version of this gets a perfect rating from me, since it’s immortal! This remix should fall right behind it, though! My Rating: 4.9

04. Zed Zilla “Moment Of Silence”
Before I read tha ID of tha track and check it out, nature’s calling; I have to take a shit! BRB! *Takes a shit at 6:33 PM* *Returns at 6:37 PM* Nice and quick! Now, let’s see, here… *Checks ID* Aight, a DJ Swift production, here; let’s hear this Zed Zilla! >>> Almost an odd vocal start, fa me, within a mainstream perspective… This iz just aight fa me, so far; a lil’ one-dimensional… Tha beat kicked in at :37 and sounds slightly better… Tha hook was decent, and this 2nd verse’s aight. He sounds a lil’ like Young Thug, but less-autistic-sounding… Tha 3rd verse’s a lil’ betta with tha “pure cocaine” shit, but c’mon, enough wit so many “money” references! Iz it me, or did every single rapper on tha planet start includin’ “money” in every fuckin’ song, since I got robbed? Was that a sign of somethin’, smh? A 5th verse? Lots of verses; not too crazy about it, especially when social media (“Instagram”) comes into play… An okay rating from me, overall. My Rating: 3.1

05. Yo Gotti “Been Thru It All”
Should be good, though, no producer listed? >>> I can’t take a song with a pitched-up sample serious, though this sounds good. Likin’ tha beat, and even that distracting sample can make Gotti sound good, on tha hook. Tha 1st verse sounds good; feelin’ tha lyrics about bein’ “thru it all.” It’s sad when I go through so much in tha music business; I feel like “I done been thru it all,” too, and my excitement/passion goes down! But, I’m still hangin’ in there… Tha 2nd verse sounds catchy, too; all about reppin’ them streetz! Tha 3rd verse sounds nice, too; I don’t mind this repetitive title, either… My Rating: 3.8

06. Yo Gotti Feat. Wave Chapelle “Different Ways”
A Nonstop (not a compound word, this time?) production, this time, just like tha 1st joint! Hope we get that same magic, if not, better! Go, Wave Chapelle…! >>> Not bad start; sounds like one of those realer southern songs, based off tha beat… I like tha “vision in tha same kitchen” part from Gotti, on tha 1st verse; all about dat yayo! Hearin’ Wave on tha 2nd verse; almost sounded like Jada, a lil’, with tha voice. But, it’s back ta his voice, and it sounds consistent; I don’t mind this shit… Soundin’ a lil’ like 3D Na’Tee, with tha consistent rhymes; can’t deny it! Surprisingly, I like tha intro song a lil’ betta… My Rating: 3.9

07. Wave Chapelle “Like Me”
Yes, a solo joint, produced by Coldway! I don’t think he needs Gotti on tha track, just like with Snootie! It’s all about unleashin’ yourself, by yourself!! >>> Not sure how this gon go; sounds like some East Coast shit in tha beginning of tha beat, here… Kinda good fa some Herbology-like, MCU-type shit, though. Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and it’s not bad; good rhymes. Let’s see if it can be a lil’ catchier… Prolly could’ve been a lil’ catchier without tha “money” shit; fuck! Tha hook aight; kinda sounds one-dimensional, at times, with tha typical lyrics… Tha 2nd verse—ugh, too much money references! I do like tha “I’m just focused like a camera lens” part; decent verse. Yeah, “money” shit became uncool after November 17, 2011; it’s not like tha “Macarena”’s cool anymore, right? Get it right! And, wow, you’re “only 19?” Didn’t think you were this young… Tha ending outro-verse was aight; almost got scared with tha voice alternation… Either way, can be a lil’ catchy, but it loses some points—tenths of points—from me, due to too much money references. My Rating: 3.4

08. Snootie Wild “Stackin’ & Flippin’ It”
No features!! Whoo!! TK on tha beat; I know I’m anticipated fa this, though it’s a money title!! Let’s see tha difference of catchiness, though, between this and Wave Chapelle’s solo joint! >>> Wasn’t feelin’ tha beat tag from TK, though. However, this iz a pretty hot beat; gotta luv it! Really diggin’ tha different-soundin’ voice on tha hook, this time, Snootie!! Much catchier, here, despite tha “money” shit! Yeah @ tha 1st verse; gotta luv how Snootie has such a unique, diverse voice!! Tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse’s pretty catchy; lots of consistent rhymes! Tha 2nd verse’s pretty catchy; oh, this beat’s killa!! Goes great with Snootie just lettin’ out that unique voice!! It’s all about tha voice, here! Remember: Beats, vocals, then, lyrics; always!!!!! Five exclamation points!! My Rating: 4.7

½time: I have ta say, this a pretty great compilation album, so far! Gotta feel how y’all comin’ through! Nothin’ but luv, right chea! Tha average CD rating fa this CD’s currently at a 4.1; we can keep it up! “Stack” tha rating and “flip” tha script!!

09. Snootie Wild Feat. Zed Zilla “No Kissing”
Wow, didn’t expect anotha Snootie joint so fast!! TK on tha beat, again! I bet I gon hear that stupid beat tag, but I bet this…should…—hopefully…—be…good…, hence this title…? >>> Thumbs down fa tha beat tag, but yeah, tha Kevin Gates-like voice, again, lol! Catchy hook; gotta luv it! Snootie can “flip” tha script and try to keep my luv fa tha track up, even if tha anticipation’s low! Tha 1st verse’s pretty catchy; I’m feelin’ tha street beat, too! I almost thought this was gon be an R&B track, or somethin’! Good shit on tha 1st verse, Snootie! “So-oul!” “No-oh;” we already know how great he iz with tha two “oh” rhymes/words (“No-No”)!! I always wonder: Was Kevin Gates an influence on Snootie? Kevin’s two months and 18 dayz older than Snootie; could be? Got Zed on tha 2nd verse, and I’m feelin’ tha voice; I don’t mind all this fuckin’, here. I like when it’s descriptive (e.g., “Fuckin’ on tha bed; I just cummed at 12:34 PM,” or somethin’), not when it’s one-dimensional (e.g., “Bitches on my dick; I got hoes,” or somethin’)! My Rating: 4.6

10. Snootie Wild “Want U 2 Kno”
Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Again!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quantum Sound!!! How ‘bout that?! My anticipation, deep down inside, feels like I’m on 15 creams & 15 sugars!!! >>> Now, this sounds more R&B… Ehh, I hate when there’s uncredited vocalists on tha hook; screws up my anticipation! So far, this aight, but I’m sure Snootie gon refresh my expectations! Okay, this iz more on tha R&B side…; Snootie sounds catchy on tha 1st verse, and just like Gates, once again! That Gates-like voice’s always catchy, fa me! Tha 2nd verse’s catchy; really diggin’ tha flow! Not sure if this gon be that kinda song that’ll grow on me, so it’s only slightly above-average fa a first listen… My Rating: 3.6

11. Yo Gotti “Dot Com”
I like tha producer’s name, here: Countdown Productions; this may be tight? Not sure if I can anticipate this kinda title, especially with a mainstream artist? >>> Beat’s pretty nice! See, TK, no beat tag needed! Feelin’ tha 1st verse from Gotti, here; diggin’ tha street shit, too! See, Gotti don’t need ta say, “Money, money, money;” he can just keep bringin’ up drug dealing, and it’s definitely worth it/not annoying! Nice beat sound, before tha hook!! Hearin’ tha hook and it’s catchy! Almost sounds like a Kevin Gates voice, like Snootie! Snootie’s ghost, lol? No social media shit, here, even though he’s always said, “Instagram,” in a bunch of recent songs! Well, whataya know? He said, “Instagram,” on tha 2nd verse’s beginning! LOL, I shoulda kept my mouth shut! But, it was nice; best Gotti song on this CD? Prolly iz! Kinda blah, blah @ tha outro, here… My Rating: 4.3

12. Zed Zilla “REALest”
Not really a fan of this kinda title, especially when tha word, “REAL,” iz in uppercase letters! That title/content’s been known to contradict people’s attributes…, one person I’ve dealt with specifically, recently, too! And, no producer listed? I dunno what gon come outta this… >>> Beat start sounds like it can be jammin’… I hope this content doesn’t ruin anything… Beat’s pretty smooth on tha 1st verse; feelin’ it, so far! Nice start with tha “pound, a whole thang… A key” shit! Tha flow’s catchy; Zed feelin’ good on tha track, here! Catchy hook, but shitty content fa me, like, “REAL”-ly!! Why does everyone think they “tha REALest”?? I just let my talent let itself out, without braggin’ about it! Tha 2nd verse’s aight. Kinda got 50/50 fa me, around tha 2:13 part, between tha “ooh” shit (great) and tha shit about “REAL” and “bitch” combinin’, or somethin’ (one-dimensional). I’m diggin’ this 3rd verse; almost sounds like a different version of Rich Homie Quan? I guess ‘cause you said, “Let’s get this party started,” like his “Party” song? But yeah, anything with “est”-ending words got uncool around, like, 2011, when I dealt with fake artists that had “est”-ending words, or auto-positive words to describe them! Plus, WTF @ “I’ve neva been a hoe;” that’s tha most-contradicting shit eva!! They’ll say that, but when I need help with somethin’, they can’t relay a message! It’s like, you go from “claimin’” you got guns and pop, but you can’t relay a message? Sounds like, “Always been a hoe,” ta me! But overall, this was catchy; I fucks wit it… My Rating: 3.8

13. Zed Zilla Feat. Yo Gotti & Lil’ STL “Mama Told Me”
Terex Productions, here… Let’s see how this gon go with a collaboration… >>> WTH @ tha 1st second? Sounds like one of those Kevin Gates-inspired styles, on tha hook; diggin’ that voice. Ahh, Yo Gotti started tha 1st verse with, “Mama raised no hoe;” WTF with me openin’ my mouth? Not that Yo Gotti’s a “hoe,” but it’s stupid how I mentioned that, and then, it got mentioned in a song, right after! Either way, good beat and nice shit from Gotti on tha 1st verse, here… But yea, tha hook’s real: “These fuck niggaz ain’t yo homies;” I learned it tha hard way! After thousands of iPod/playlist spins, 100’s of $$$ spent on awards, countless time spent on trying to enjoy certain underground artists, everything turned into a regret, pretty much! Anyway, tha 2nd verse’s pretty catchy from Zilla; nice rhymes and voice ta go with this! My Rating: 4.1

14. Wave Chapelle “Wavy Baby”
Melvin Thomas on tha track; looks like it could be a fun, catchy song? >>> Doesn’t really sound too fun in tha beginning; more of a lyrical song? Matta fact, a mainstream-soundin’ song, here; one-dimensional, so far… Not too bad of a 1st verse, overall… Okay, tha hook’s more on that catchy shit that I anticipated, even though this still an aight joint. Sometimes, I don’t jump with too much excitement when tha production sounds like it’s East Coast-inspired… Tha 2nd verse’s aight, too… LOL, from 2:08 – 2:20, it’s like, how many lyrics can fit into four bars? Decent, here. My Rating: 3.5

15. Wave Chapelle “Magic”
Supa Producer (one-dimensional name?) on tha beat… >>> Beat start sounded a lil’ exciting, though I think this gon go with tha previous joint, and be a lil’ less-rated… Catchy rhymes in tha 1st verse; lots of great-rhyming words… Kinda a duplicate sample on tha hook, here, as a decade ago, it was Do Or Die & Kanye West who made “Higher”. So, tha hook’s pretty much terdtrocious, fa me… Tha 2nd verse’s ehh, fa me; that “stackin’ money” shit in tha beginning kinda made me lose interest… My Rating: 2.5

16. Yo Gotti “Lay It Down”
Megaman doin’ tha track, here; time ta end it in a mainstream perspective? >>> Damn, anotha uncredited voice on tha hook? Nice “bang bang” shit in tha hook, but tha voice doesn’t sound that great… Then again, this on a mainstream tip, with Gotti as tha artist… I’m feelin’ tha beginning of tha 1st verse, with tha “high-speed chase,” as well as tha “faded” shit. Was that Boosie when Gotti was talkin’ ‘bout, “Boo,” on tha 1st verse? Prolly not… Nice real-life scene on tha 2nd verse; sounds more than one-dimensional, here, y’all! Gotti definin’ a lil’ bit of a scene… Kinda feelin’ that voice on tha hook a lil’ betta, now. Ooh @ tha beat climax on tha 3rd verse; real nice! And, good rhymes from Gotti on tha 3rd verse, as well! My Rating: 4.2

Overall: I thought this was a nice lil’ compilation album, fa a mainstream release! Cocaine Muzik Group in tha buildin’! Of course, as I expected, Snootie had tha best appearances, with his unique voice, flow, lyrics, content, and song styles! Surprised one of them was rated under a 4.0, lol! But, err-body, keep up tha great work! Yo Gotti & CMG are on top of 2014!!

R.I.P. Video #34: Cash Money Vamp

Recorded May 26, 2014

Broadcasting from my backyard in Peckville, PA, it's FrankieThaLuckyDog here, reporting anotha tragic loss in tha Louisiana rap community.

According to tha New Orleans Police Department, Cash Money Vamp, born Clarence Wilson, was murdered last night, just after 8 PM. Wilson was shot multiple times in tha neck on Chef Menteur Highway at America Street, in New Orleans, Louisiana, who was later pronounced dead after bein' taken to tha hospital. Tha killer iz yet to be identified, as they are a part of a sketchy set of five shootings from yesterday.

Wilson was tha cousin of both Bryan "Birdman" Williams & Ronald "Slim" Williams, who are known for establishing New Orleans label, Cash Money Records. Wilson was also an avid club promoter; he was only 43 years-old.

Let's take a moment of silence to remember Vamp, right now... *MOMENT OF SILENCE*

Just as I was gettin' up today, I had went on Instagram and saw from my round, Fila Phil, that Vamp had been killed, last night. I wish tha shootings in Louisiana would end, and that everyone would be about they own business. We're in this to help err-body out, not be jealous or take anotha one's life! Once again, this iz FrankieThaLuckyDog here, reportin' anotha tragic loss in tha Louisiana rap community.

Review #1,402: DJ Tank Presents "Back To Business Vol. 1"

Reviewed on 5.25.2014 (Review #1,402)

Here comes anotha one! DJ Tank Presents Back To Business Vol. 1; anotha bounce mixtape fa me ta review! Start Time: 6:21 PM | End Time: 7:40 PM

01. 10th Ward Buck “Fifty Four (DJ Tank Mix)”
Whoo @ Buck’s return! >>> Sounds nice and old-styled, as well as havin’ Jill Scott “He Loves Me” in tha background, again, lol. Diggin’ tha hook; energetic bounce music, once again! Sounds like some Rihanna & Mikky Eiko “Stay”, in tha background, too; ehh, but for tha most part, this iz good. My Rating: 4.2

02. Kelly Rowland “This Is Love (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> Not bad; pretty fast with these bounce vibes… My Rating: 3.2

03. 9th Ward Judy “Ride It Like A Horse”
>>> A Linkin Park “In The End” beginning, again, lol… LOL @ tha repeatin’ hook wit tha Linkin Park sample!! “Ride it—ride it—ride it like a horse!!” Damn, back to tha “Stay” background music? Either way, great ta hear this Judy!! My Rating: 4.4

04. Sevyn Streeter “It Won’t Stop (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> Kinda boring and long…; no interest, here… My Rating: 1.4

05. Flo’esha “Boom Boom (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> This ain’t bad; ahh, tha John Legend “All Of Me” beginning beat… I like that “loosen dat booty” part, as well as remakin’ a lil’ bit of “Rump Shaker”, at times. Ehh, not bad, here. I thought it was a chick on tha song, when I saw tha name. Seems stale to have tha beginning of “All Of Me”’s vocals in this, at times. My Rating: 3.6

06. Fantasia “Lose To Win (DJ Juive Mix)”
>>> I’m not her biggest fan, so this iz barely aight fa me… Ehh, fuck it, but it goes okay with this mixtape… My Rating: 2.1

07. 9th Ward Judy “Where Is D Shafers”
Some of tha parts of tha titles are cut off, so I’m not sure what to put, at times… >>> Sounds good, but why tha “I Hate This Part” sample, all tha time? Ahh, “All Of Me” again! Either way, decent… My Rating: 3.8

08. Jessie Powell “You (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> Nice intro from Juive… Boring, long intro? It’s 1:10 long—ahh, it’s 6:19 on tha length? Pretty gay, for tha length! Sorry, but this iz completely pointless; I’m just starin’ inta space… My Rating: 1.0

09. Big Choo “Is It The Shoes (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> Nice with tha “The Next Episode” beginning part, in tha intro’s background, here… Nice bounce beats; let’s see how this can progress… Kinda boring, but it’s okay… My Rating: 3.4

½time: It’s only okay, so far; a good portion of it seems boring, after bein’ kinda long and draggin’… Either way, a 3.0 for tha CD rating, currently.

10. Mariah Carey “Bye Bye (DJ Tank Mix)”
What a random song, lol! >>> Pretty hyper, though I dunno about this 5:07 length! It’s good fa what it iz, but no five minutes, please; three would be fine! My Rating: 2.7

11. Big Freedia “I Guess This Is”
>>> Sounds good, so far, for a start. See, it’s only 2:42; perfect length! I like tha ‘90s background music, such as Janet Jackson’s “Again” (?) & “Love You Down”, also… My Rating: 3.7

12. Sevyn Streeter “Next (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> At least this iz shorter, but it’s still boring fa me… My Rating: 1.8

13. Blakey B “3rd & G (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> Not PCD again! LOL @ “google dat ass up,” repeatin’! No @ tha “Stay”, again! Really could’ve done without tha samples; they turned me off, once again! My Rating: 2.5

14. Allure “Lately (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> This one’s long, but at least it’s a ‘90s R&B song, with some bounce beats added to it. My Rating: 3.5

15. Clacka “Run Up In A Hoe (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> Nice ‘90s vibe in tha vocals, once again, here, bounce style… Why it sound like MJ at tha end? My Rating: 3.3

16. Keri Hilson “Make Love (DJ Tank Mix)”
>>> Damn, 4:30 on tha length? Pointless, once again! My Rating: 1.0

17. DJ Nneka “2012”
Can’t go back to that year, sadly. :( >>> Okay, so far; I like tha “my pussy, your pussy, my pussy, your pussy…” part at :37! Nice and hyper/fast! Such an obsessive woman, here, lol! “P-U-SS; P-U-SS!!” LOL, “In The Air Tonight” randomly came in tha background at 1:40; so random! And, at 2:03, real throwback with “The Best Of Me (Remix)”, Pt. 2, whateva it was from Mýa & Jay-Z! My Rating: 4.0

18. Pleasure P “Did You Wrong (DJ Tank Mix)”
I luv how this title’s not cut off… >>> Original version was already boring; not really inta this, though tha bounce beats aren’t too bad… My Rating: 2.6

Overall: Unfortunately, this didn’t turn out to be a great review. I mean, for a lower rating than usual, this ain’t complete trash. I wouldn’t mind listenin’ ta this, randomly, but as far as scores go, they’re not for quality. I got bored too fast after tha lengths, some of tha samples, and some of tha songs that were remixed. Either way, keep doin’ yo thang, Tank!
