Resumin’ my Louisiana Reviewz Marathon with this next release: Black Souls Entertainment Survival, released in 1999 on Black Souls Entertainment & was produced by Platinum Ghetto! Start Time: 2:00 PM | End Time: 3:00 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. B.S.E. “Access Denied”

>>> I’m likin’ tha dial tone as a part of this upbeat beat! Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it’s soundin’ good, fa this N.O. rap! Tha dude on tha 2^nd part sounds pretty good ta hear, as well… Hearin’ tha dude on tha 3^rd part and it sounds a lil’ deeper in his voice; not bad… I’m likin’ how tha dial tone changes to that old-soundin’ Internet connection, durin’ his part! Tha 4^th dude’s soundin’ consistent wit tha rhymes; good shit…! Tha 5^th part’s a chick, soundin’ nice, here; good shit, Black Souls Ent.! My Rating: 4.3

02. B.S.E. feat. Mystikal “Survival”
>>> Good intro from Mystikal, here… Tha beat sounds like a combination of NYC rap vs. tha Louisiana swag, here; let’s see what this got… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it’s a good lil’ NY-soundin’ vibe… I like how tha B.S.E. chick says, “I’m high,” lol; good parts from B.S.E., here… Also, at 1:22, a nice lil’ “beware” from Mystikal (just like his “Beware”)…! Tha 2^nd verse instantly came on, after a short hook (which was good for what it was); this sounds lyrically nice… Mystikal’s nice and hype, as always, on tha 3^rd verse; definitely nice…! My Rating: 4.3

03. Taffy “One Bad Bitch”
>>> Tha female from B.S.E., here, soundin’ good on tha 1^st verse, on this beat… She likes bein’ called “O.B.B.” ‘cause of tha title; good shit… Hearin’ tha hook and it sounds nice wit a dude doin’ tha background vocals/title part… Tha 2^nd verse sounds nice ta hear, as well; not bad, overall… My Rating: 3.8

04. Adam Smooth “Paradise & Torture”
>>> Anotha beat on a NY tip, here; not too sure how interested I’ll continue ta be… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and tha rappin’ and everything’s NY to me; let’s continue… Tha hook sounds random to blend in, here; not bad, just nothin’ to really say ‘bout it… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and tha decent/good rhymes continue, here… My Rating: 3.6

05. Taffy feat. Fiend “Soldier To Soul”
>>> Back to tha nice, Louisiana-soundin’ beats! Sounds like a catchy anthem, based off tha beginning… Hearin’ Fiend on tha 1^st verse and I’m feelin’ his jammin’, aggressive flow…! Got Taffy on tha 2^nd part of tha 1^st verse, here, comin’ through wit an okay set of rhymes. Luckily, tha beat saves her ‘cause if it woulda been that NY shit, this woulda not’ve been fa me… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s nice wit tha both of them on this; good shit! Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and her fast rhymin’ does “sound like Twista,” even tho she denies it; good shit, tho! Hearin’ Fiend on tha 2^nd part of tha 2^nd verse and he’s got this grimy shit on lock; No Limit-soundin’ vibes, here…! A long, extended hook, here, “all about tha money;” good ta end it, I guess? My Rating: 4.4

06. Moon “Do You Like It Rough”
>>> Oh no, here comes tha NY-soundin’ beats; let’s see how tha rappin’ will go… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and tha rhymes are consistent/not bad; let’s see how this continues… Tha hook’s simple; I’ono if this sounds like a song fa tha ones that “like it rough,” tho… Tha 2^nd verse ain’t bad, here; kinda boring, overall… My Rating: 3.4

07. Moon & Chief “Can You Come”
>>> Betta-soundin’ beat, here; let’s see what gon come outta dis one… Sounds like a consistent-soundin’ 1^st verse, here; nice… Tha hook sounds okay; it’s simple, once again… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and it for tha ladies, here; not bad… Hearin’ tha 3^rd verse and it ain’t bad, as well; a lil’ long fa a song, overall? My Rating: 3.0

08. Agony A.D. “Afterways”
>>> Beat’s okay; kinda dry… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it’s okay fa tha ‘90s, here… Tha hook sounds kinda quiet; not too interested… Tha rest of this iz ehh…; not too interested in this plain-soundin’ song, overall… My Rating: 2.8

½time: A 3.7-rated CD, so far; not really into tha NY-soundin’ shit and some of it sounds kinda dry. A few good features lightened this CD up; let’s see how it continues…

09. B.S.E. “Holla”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ N’awlinz-soundin’ beat; good lil’ hook… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and as soon as I heard y’all say, “Wodie,” I already regained interest; southern twang at its finest! Got tha 2^nd verse goin’ on, here & it sounds nice; glad this beat’s givin’ y’all life on tha track! Sounds okay when Taffy comes in to rap; not too bad, overall… My Rating: 4.1

10. Adam Smooth “Eroticism”
>>> Beat ain’t too bad, here… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it’s ehh; not too sure, yet… Hearin’ tha hook and I’m diggin’ tha erotic female/vibes; good hook! Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and it’s okay; a lil’ boring/plain wit tha delivery, tho. Tha rest of this ain’t too bad; I really only like tha hook, tho… My Rating: 3.5

11. Taffy & Moon “The Come Up”
>>> An okay/cool beat, here… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse from Taffy and it sounds okay… Tha rest of this mainly okay; don’t have to say too much, since nothin’ really sparks my interest… My Rating: 2.9

12. Mystikal “Handle Ya Biz”
>>> Now, this much betta!! Beat’s pretty laidback but tha 1^st verse’s aggressive as fuck! Tha hook’s pretty nice; glad he “don’t stop” and “can’t stop!” Tha 2^nd verse’s pretty dope, as well; keep it goin’, Mr. Kal, lol! My Rating: 4.4

13. 6x9 “Life”
>>> “Dedication, determination…;” sounds like a motivational intro? Smooth lil’ anticipatin’ beat, here… At :46, tha beat kicks in and sounds more like a mix between tha NY & NOLA vibes… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it sounds cool, on an undaground tip… Hearin’ tha hook and it’s simple/quick to bypass… Hearin’ tha 2^nd verse and yeah, gotta “shmoke a blunt!” Good job wit this one, here… My Rating: 4.0

14. 6x9, Taffy & Smooth “Thief In The Night”
>>> More on tha NY tip, again, but has a similar mix of tha previous joint’s elements… Tha 1^st verse ain’t too bad, here…; tha hook sounds a lil’ cool wit this title… Tha 2^nd verse don’t sound too bad, as this joint continues ta progress… Keepin’ it goin’ wit Taffy on tha 3^rd verse, soundin’ okay; mainly, there’s nothin’ really wrong wit this one… My Rating: 3.7

15. Tha Black Flag “Pressure”
>>> Okay rhymes, here… Oh, this only 1:13 on tha length; short & sweet, I guess? Beat cool ta rap on, too… My Rating: 4.1

16. Uptown Desparados “Gangsta Shhh!”
>>> A smooth lil’ beat ta end thangz off, here… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse and it’s more on a quiet tip, wit tha flow; ehh, let’s see how this continues… Tha hook just let’s tha title be known; more on tha slow, laidback “Gangsta Shhh!,” tho… Tha 2^nd verse ain’t too bad, here; let’s finish dis off… Hearin’ tha 3^rd verse and it’s aight, here… Finishin’ off wit a 1:16 beat outro, as well; not bad… My Rating: 3.3

Overall: Prolly tha 1^st review I’ve eva done where tha start time & end time both end in 00/lookin’-like-rounded numbers, lol… Either way, this was mainly an okay compilation from tha B.S.E. clique… Sounded its best when Fiend & Mystikal made appearances. Other than that, a lil’ too much NY-soundin’ vibes clashin’ wit tha N.O.; still betta than average, tho…
