My 7th review for today iz MTA (Mixtape Assassins) a.k.a. Da Ryden High Boyz “Buzz In Da Streetz Vol. 1” off Ryden High Records. BTW, “Ryden” iz really ‘pose ta be spelled with an “in” at tha end; I guess y’all have your own way of spellin’ it, though. Really, “en” means “already done,” which there aren’t too many words that really end in “en”; it’s like, tha (Already Rode) High Boyz when there’s an “en”, lol. Anyway, no tracklisting, as it was just a CD; it gon have ta be a blind review. Start Time: 8:39 PM | End Time: 8:56 PM


Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

What will this sound like, since y’all are from Baker, LA? >>> Tha intro almost sounds like Drake and his “Forever” beat but it ain’t jacked at all, overall. This sounds like “gumbo” and “ridin’ high”-type shit goin’ on. LOL, I’m likin’ dis! “Tha gumbo blowin’ thru da wind;” interestin’ ta hear dat Louisiana content! Good song right here ‘bout tha “gumbo” and shit! Tha 2nd verse’s soundin’ good and Southern, too. Wish I’d have an official title fa dis so I can put it on my radio show! My Rating: 4.4

>>> Or maybe not, since this iz an official jacked—“This Is Why I’m Hot”—beat (smh @ me writin’ dat title, still); I assume dis iz from ’07 or somethin’? Those shitty-ass, worst times eva? I like tha “here comes tha bayou beast” shit goin’ on here. Not bad, overall; tha beat turned me off, though. My Rating: 3.7

>>> LOL, each beat’s gettin’ older and older. Although ’06 wit dis “Side 2 Side”, I’m way above these dayz now!! I like tha content; sounds interestin’ but rather hear it on an original beat!! Good rappin’, though… My Rating: 3.8

>>> Now, it’s ’01 wit “Until The End Of Time”; thought we were gonna be in ’04 but we jumped far back. I’m likin’ tha dark voice startin’ dis shit off. Tha rappin’s good and tha content gives some interest… My Rating: 3.7


½time: A 3.7-rated CD, so far. Thought this would be original beats since I have a hard copy of it.

>>> Back to ’05 wit “Get Ya Hustle On”; sounds decent… I like tha way y’all rappin’ dis shit; all about tha “kush,” ya dig?! My Rating: 3.6

>>> Sounds like an Usher beat intro or somethin’, whateva dis iz/was. I dunno what ta say about dis; good rhymes, once again. My Rating: 3.3

>>> Don’t really recognize this beat but it’s okay for a start. I have nothin’ ta really say ‘bout dis decent joint, too. My Rating: 2.9

>>> Here comes tha ’07 again wit “Naw Mean”… A cliché, somewhat-childish-soundin’ “do you see what I see” shit in tha beginning. Almost sounds like “R.I.P.,” lol. I think this iz catchier than some of tha other shit on here. My Rating: 3.5

>>> Not “A Bay Bay”, especially dat stupid-ass 5:04 length!! Too cheesy and typical to tha original version. Tha voice iz definitely a plus but nothin’ special when it comes ta makin’ a song… My Rating: 2.8

>>> Don’t recognize dis beat but it’s pretty nice… SMH @ a “dance” ta end dis decent/somewhat-below average CD. “Shimi”? I think I like “shimi-ing” but this ain’t that interestin’/not too bad, either. My Rating: 2.6


Overall: As said before, decent, but nothin’ special due to tha boring jacked beats.
