Review #1,380: Big Wayne "Producer Of Da Year"

Reviewed on 3.09.2014 (Review #1,380)

Have been feeling unlucky, lately, especially that today, my car stalled out on top of a hill, and I had to ride down tha block after my block backwards, unable to stop at stop signs and shit. Oddly, before I left, I got tha files for this Big Wayne Producer Of Tha Year CD I finna review before tha car incident, and how ironic that I gon review it today. This was released on Bad Azz Entertainment in tha 3rd quarter of 2011; I’m not sure why I was never sent this CD, at tha time, especially that I had a radio show and err-thang. And, to be even more fair, no matter how hard it iz for me to handle this, right now, this review will be reviewed normally ‘cause tha CD’s before October 24, 2013, before Big Wayne blocked me from Instagram for no reason, and I have yet to be unblocked. So, I will waste a whole hour on this right now, as my choices in life have been at an all-time shithole! Can’t wait for more bad luck to come! But, I’m reviewin’ it ‘cause I neva got to review it before, and I wanna review every Louisiana CD! Start Time: 4:03 PM | End Time: 4:44 PM
3.10.2014 EDIT: Whether he got tha review or not, yet, he unblocked me from Instagram & followed me today! Gonna edit out some original stuff I said in here... Whoo! Now, we just gotta get his brother, B-Real, to do tha same! B-Real, take notes from Big Wayne ASAP!!

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

© 2014 CD Review (Review #1,380) reviewed on 3.09.2014 by FrankieThaLuckyDog.

01. “Certified”
>>> Really likin’ tha beat a lot; sounds pretty nice, here. Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 1st verse; consistent rhymes, like you comin’ through nicely wit it, as a 21-year-old. Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds good, especially that you “don’t sleep;” too bad your brother, B-Real does. SMH, I woke him up one day. Outta all tha times he ain’t answer my calls, why answer when he sleepin’? Plus, why do rappers “sleep,” anyway? Weird as fuck, but hopefully, in tha future, I would like your flipped “dollars!” My Rating: 4.5

02. “Bucking & Jumping” Feat. Money Bagz
Looks familiar, but I couldn’t find it in any of my reviewz… >>> And, of course, you on tha beat, and it sounds pretty nice, whether I’ve heard this before or not. Nice job wit tha hook, as it’s pretty energetic; good, consistent shit! And, Money Bagz on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit good shit fa tha parties. Here you are on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit good shit, too! “Rollin’ on dem jiggaz;” you got dat right! However, I neva understood your brother, B-Real, 366 dayz ago. On March 8, 2013, he was coughin’ on tha phone, and I said to him, “You need some jiggaz,” and he acted all afraid of that shit. Like, really? It’s tha name of tha label (Jigga House)! He said he wouldn’t tell me ‘cause he was with someone. I neva got ta remind him, but I would like to know tha awkward answer! My Rating: 4.6

03. “Why They Hatin’”
>>> Sounds real nice between tha beat, bassline, and how you comin’ through wit tha rap/sing-like notes on tha hook! I neva undastood tha whole “hatin’” references so many times, back then, but now, everyone hates my guts for no reason! I neva did anything, and only show luv! But, good shit on tha 1st verse, regardless. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and it’s good, but I dunno if you should reference “Pac.” Some people don’t deserved to be referenced in current music. Luckily, for me, I don’t live a world of quotes and clichés. My Rating: 4.6

04. “Go Down My Boy” Feat. Money Bagz
>>> Sounds good, once again; “ol’ scary-ass”-attacking on tha hook, here, and it sounds good. Got $$$ Bagz on tha 1st verse, here, comin’ through wit okay rhymes. Obsessin’ guns, as always… “Like a mane,” Big Wayne, “a mane!” Catchiness! Here you are on tha 2nd verse, “rollin’ off a 10 pack;” that’s what’s up! Hope you still be poppin’ ‘em today! My Rating: 4.3

05. “Ain’t No Love” Feat. Money Bagz
>>> Not sure if I recognize this either, but though you on tha beat, I’m not really into songs with singin’ samples on tha hooks… So, other than your beat, tha hook’s pretty shitty for me. Let’s see if tha verses can save it for me… Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through like, “Why I keep a mad face at all times;” I see. Of course, that’s true, but also, that’s startin’ ta be me. I hate Pennsylvania, and with job opportunities manipulatin’ and threatenin’ me, how can you not have a “mug?” A good job wit tha 1st verse, but now that I think of it, at least tha hook’s for tha streetz; not too depressing-sounding. Here’s Money Bagz on tha 2nd verse, again on tha feature, comin’ through wit good rhymes in an okay delivery. I’m givin’ this a pretty-good rating, despite my criticism. My Rating: 3.8

06. “Other Shit” Feat. Money Bagz
Anotha feature? Wow, real close connection on this CD, I see? >>> Anotha familiar-like song, but I don’t think I’ve heard…? Good beat and good hook from you, here. Here’s tha 1st verse from you, already on an “anti-social” tip, just like 2013! Once again, anotha consistent verse. A longer song, here, as you’re on tha 2nd verse… Pretty gutta wit tha “40 glock” and shit like dat. I wonder, you think I’ll eva make it to Louisiana? I dunno if I’ll eva get a family member to agree to come with me, take off of work, and have money to spend, there. This iz Year #8 of my Louisiana connection, and still, I haven’t made it down there, yet. Here’s Money Bagz on tha 3rd verse, comin’ through wit some remedies, such as “smokin’ blunts;” nice. Good job wit tha verse, $$$! My Rating: 4.2

07. “My Life” Feat. DJ & Mike Jr.
A newbie for me on tha feature… >>> A longer joint wit you on tha beat, of course… Tha feature’s a singer, and it sounds pretty nice; sounds pretty close to a Boosie vibe, though why tha remaking vocals of tha “my life, my life, my life” shit? It still sounds good, though, for a Baton Rouge perspective. And, here’s this DJ Mike Jr. on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit a sing-rap-like verse; good job! “Gunplay,” huh? Who would’ve thought that’d be a rapper name, and he would take my full attention away from Louisiana? Anyway, okay rhymes; not a fan of tha “money” shit, though it’s ‘pose to be 2011, here, so I’m not ‘pose to mind it, much. I wound up gettin’ robbed $555 from Skies (I spelled his name wrong on purpose, so nothin' of his comes up in Google, but you spell his name (figure this spelling out) Ess, Kay, Why, Zee, E), like, a month or two later, after this CD came out, sadly. We all take losses, and with Louisiana, I’m expectin’ to take 100s of losses? Here you are on tha 2nd verse, soundin’ okay, but too much “money” shit fa me. Even when you “was a lil’” kid? Can we go back to tha dayz where our parents bought us shit and we saved our “money”? Here’s tha 3rd verse from someone; have no idea who it iz, but it sounds like a great, Baton Rouge-like dude. Oh wait, I thought tha feature’s name was “DJ Mike Jr.”, but I didn’t see tha comma. I guess, it’s DJ for one feature, and Mike Jr. for anotha one? Either way, neva heard tha both of ‘em, but this 3rd verse iz pretty nice! Great dude; haven’t heard anything or his name come up since… Hope he’s still active? My Rating: 4.2

½time: Real nice-soundin’ CD, so far, like always! You already know what it iz! You always provide consistent production, as well as great rhymes—betta yet, your voice always sounds great, no matter what, when, or where! A 4.3-rated CD, currently!

08. “Legz Open Like Garage” Feat. Quante & Yung Damon
Not sure if I heard these dudes on tha feature, but this looks like a nice title, though it looks like there’s a word missing at tha end? >>> Good beat; a singin’ hook, again, and it sounds good fa havin’ “stamina” and “energy!” Okay, no cut-off words on tha title; catchiness! Here you are on tha 1st verse, comin’ through wit your catchy voice and, just, livin’ tha BR lifestyle! Sounds good, but don’t you think havin’ kids really distracts your full attention as a rapper/producer? I know it really screws up B-Real a whole lot. That’s why, I’ve been heavily influenced to definitely wait for sex, relationships, and most definitely, kids! My career and consistency comes first! Glad I got my Master’s Degree at 24! Anyway, tha 2nd verse sounds nice, here, wit this other feature; good, catchy joint! Long joint and only two verses? Didn’t quite bore me, but it’s nice, includin’ tha ending wit tha echo/acapella! My Rating: 4.1

09. “They Be Talking ‘Bout” Feat. Doodie Da Juvie
>>> Sounds like a nice vibe, kinda like tha early ‘00s of Louisiana; nice job wit tha production, Big Wayne! And, tha hook sounds good; feelin’ it! Tha 1st verse sounds good. Doodie on tha 2nd verse, and just like his name, he definitely iz tha shit, here, wit this consistency!! Whoo @ tha non-stop rhymes, content fa tha streetz, and consistency!!! My Rating: 4.3

10. “Moe Love You Show”
Ain’t dat right, Big Wayne? Tha “moe love [I] show” seems to keep makin’ me go into bad directions. But also, think, can you believe I’m showin’ “you” “love” wit this review, right now, despite you blockin’ me from Instagram, while reviewing this? Unbelievable, right? There’s no one like me! I guess I’m so vulnerable wit this kinda shit? >>> You got this right wit “tha moe love you show, they don’t return it back.” That’s an issue I’m dealin’ wit right now, and iz a main reason why I can’t get to Louisiana/travel by myself. I’m feelin’ tha rhymes about you talkin’ ‘bout people “actin’ funny.” Tha 2nd verse sounds like you rappin’ about B-Real, fa 2014, though that’s not what it’s exactly about; it iz, in my case, though. I heard B-Real “laughed” about me, yesterday. Like, he took all my “love” that I showed, such as buyin’ back his stolen equipment, puttin’ him in playlists, givin’ him awards, bein’ in 30-degree weather of snow by doin’ live reviewz of his CDs, and more, and I get “laughed” at, now? My bad fa showin’ “love!” But, sadly—I dunno what tha fuck’s wrong wit me—I still try and “show love!” Don’t ask me why; I’m a mess, and I need help, desperately! My Rating: 4.2

11. “Trippin’”
>>> Catchy hook, here, and tha beat’s nice! Tha 1st verse sounds nice, here; good job wit all tha “trippin’” shit dat people be on, such as myself. Yea, Big Wayne, I’ll admit it: I’m such a fuckin’ asshole, right? I have problems; my autism gets in tha way! Who wanna fuck wit an autistic person anyway, right, in this undaground of Louisiana? I feel like there’s no room fa autistic people like me, sadly; it’s too strange fa y’all, and tha amount of perseverance I have fa Louisiana, y’all can’t handle. I gotta quit focusing on Louisiana and find anotha place! Just wait, when I get that job! It’ll be game over fa Louisiana! Anyway, tha 2nd verse’s good, too. My Rating: 4.4

12. “Asking How I Do It”
>>> Sounds like a slightly-faster beat; sounds good! Tha hook’s pretty catchy; just “do [yo] shit!” Tha 1st verse sounds good, here; how do you get “dawgs,” a.k.a., people dat roll wit you? It’s so hard fa me; err-body got a schedule! Only one verse, here? It was soundin’ good, but nice, quick taste! My Rating: 4.4

13. “Nani Goat” Feat. Strokes
Already know this one. It was a lil’ over four years ago when I found it on your YouTube. It made my 1st Tha Louisiana Archives compilation, too. We already know you & K.T. did a nice job wit this beat, describin’ these “goats” and all dat. Great collab and “I’m callin’ out to all goats,” as Strokes says on tha 2nd verse! More of tha review on tha Tha Louisiana Archives Vol. 1 review, but honestly, can you be 20 again, please? My Current Rating: 4.8

14. “Fucked Up” Feat. Big Poppa
>>> Nice wit err-thang you on! Feelin’ tha “fucked up” vibe of tha hook! And, tha 2nd ½ of tha hook was random wit background sounds, but it still sounds good… Tha 1st verse iz nice; I like how you said, “bruh,” twice. Glad you “stay fucked up;” good shit! Even ended tha 1st verse wit “bruh,” too; nice, “bruh!” This could be anotha familiar-soundin’ joint, but I’ll just review it; whateva… Poppa on tha 2nd verse, here, comin’ through wit lots of shit ta offer. Okay, good shit fa tha clubs; can’t deny it. BTW, Big Wayne, when I stress you out, do you get “fulla [more] pillz?” My Rating: 4.5

Overall: As always, this was anotha classic CD of yours! You always come through wit one of tha best, southern voices, as well as who you feature on your tracks! Surprised there was no B-Real, here? I guess I got a break today! Can’t believe though you blocked me, I spent a whole 41 minutes reviewin’ your old CD! Would you do somethin’ like this, like, leave your kids for an hour, and do Level-related shit for an hour? Think of how fucked up I am!! Anyway, don’t hate me anymore! We all go through shit! Time to come to tha rescue, or I’m just gonna keep hating myself, and chasing bad luck!
3.10.2014 EDIT: And, I'm so glad we're connected on Instagram, now. I'm glad I took a shot at reviewin' this CD, yesterday! I guess it worked out in both our favors?
