Before
I get into tha next review, I gotta say, R.I.P. & happy birthday to tha
very-special, Sheen~Marie, from Louisiana,
who was beaten & burned ta death, back on February 19, 2011! Now then, in
other news, I just found out yesterday dat I finna be an uncle in 2014!! Talk
about gettin’ up there!! Just like this next person, who I finna review: Kevin Gates Stranger Than Fiction, wit dat Bread Winners Association! Let’s
see how I gon feel about Gates, Summer 2K13 style! Up early doin’ this review
‘cause durin’ tha afternoon, I finna go with my stepmom to Brooklyn,
later today! EDIT: They left without me 'cause they thought I'd be bored, smh! Start Time: 8:36 AM | End Time: 9:32 AM
Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0
– 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!
I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long
as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and
then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a
song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6
rating, I pretty much really love it,
as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I
hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type
before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything
after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening
to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or
talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’
topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was
robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you
“got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done
business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

“4 Legs & A Biscuit”
Mmm… Like I mentioned yesterday, I tied my peak “weight” (like your song) from 2007, yesterday: 117! Let’s see how delicious we start this CD off… >>> Likin’ tha beat, here! Sounds like a new start, since school’s starting again—not that I’m enrolled or anything, but this gets my All Or Nuthin’ excitement back, outta nowhere! Really feelin’ tha lyrics, here; glad they didn’t keep you in “jail!” But, will you grow back tha dreads? I like how you randomly said tha title… My Rating: 4.6

“Get ‘Em”
Here
we continue! >>> I like how this sounds, but this hook sounds a lil’
mainstream-brainwashed fa me… Really, on a sellout level wit tha hook’s lyrics!
Example: Tha “I’ma let them rubber bands go” part sounds like you rapped it
like a pathetic mainstream rapper (e.g., Travis Porter or someone). Also, tha
“Michael Jackson … Thriller”
reference’s sellout-y for me. 50/50 wit tha lyrics, wit tha 1st
verse… Tha 2nd verse ain’t too bad, either… It’s like, will we eva
hear a Guss beat again, or did he get kicked to tha curb? Despite my criticism,
I still really like this for a good rating. My Rating: 4.0
03.
“MYB” Feat. Starlito
Let’s
see our first collaboration on this CD… >>> Ooh, likin’ this beat
start a lot!! I like how it sounds like you’re rappin’ this in a grimy, dark,
tip-toe way; really feelin’ how you sound on here! Great job wit tha 1st
verse; very interestin’! Starlito on tha 2nd verse, and it sounds
like a jail friend/close friend/family member of yours, or somethin’? Just like
you, they sound good, too! Hearin’ you on tha 3rd verse, here, still
soundin’ hoarse and great. You even “got [someone] pregnant”? Sounds crazy, but
after findin’ out that I gon be an uncle from yesterday, from my
gonna-be-20-year-old-sister-in-law, it’s crazy! My Rating: 4.6
04.
“White Tan”
Looks
like a summer anthem? >>> Surprisingly, anotha nice beat, here! I really like how you’re rappin’ on this;
sounds like you’re on a treadmill, Gates!! Hearin’ tha hook, and this sounds
catchy fa a… drug song? Tha 2nd verse’s startin’ ta sound good, too;
whoo, gotta feel this! Also, nice length on these songs; they’re not too long
and not on a boring level! My Rating: 4.5
05.
“430am”
Was
up at this time almost tha other night, watchin’ Fear Factor! Let’s hear what we got, here! >>> Wow, you
still say, “bruh,” and not make 100% Louisiana
music? Sounds like you moved past tha word “bruh,” but it’s great that you
still say it! Nice conversation in tha beginning; sounds like you got a lotta
“love,” here! Hearin’ tha 1st verse, and wow, you exploded outta nowhere!! Definitely nice how that conversation
got you pissed!! Now, onto tha hook:
Nice wit tha times! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; a lil’ bit of
catchy vocals and a flow and then, tha yellin’, lol! My Rating: 4.4
06.
“Die ‘Bout It”
Dark
title, with a length of 4:30; hope it pays off… >>> Feelin’ tha beat
start; wow, beat’s progressin’ to be good durin’ tha 1st verse! And,
here you are wit some consistent, dark, street rhymes, throughout tha 1st
verse!! Who knows, one day, you may do a collaboration wit me, since I neva “lie in [my] rhymes!” Feelin’ tha
hook, too; such strength in tha word, “die!” Ehh, you’re swervin’ wit tha
quality, here, wit tha “bands.” I dunno… Okay, you’re swervin’ in tha right
direction wit all tha other rhymes right after; catchy, alternatin’ flow!!
Likin’ tha intro to tha 3rd verse, as you’re hangin’ wit this
“Stroke” dude, whoeva they are… Well, no verse, just an outro of you talkin’…
Ehh, okay. My Rating: 4.4
07.
“Strokin’”
Speakin’
of… >>> Not really into tha beat tag, at first, especially since
there’s not much hype in this beat…
Well, startin’ ta pick up toward tha middle of tha 1st verse… Sounds
like some good rhymes, here, fa grabbin’ a virgin? Catchy hook wit tha beat,
too; I like how you say tha title. You must’ve gotten a female wit this hook by
now, right? Shout out ta you fa havin’
“a lotta tattoos.” Could just imagine what I looked like if I had a bunch of
“tattoos”? Didn’t realize how much you were still into sex, lol… My Rating: 4.3
08.
“Thinkin’ With My Dick” Feat. Juicy J
Speakin’
of tha ending of tha previous review, once again… Wonder if this gon be good…
>>> Feelin’ tha beat start, as it reminds me of tha intro to Pretty
Lights & Talib Kweli “Around The Block”, a lil’! Nice job wit tha random
hook, here. Kinda reminds me of how J Buc was like on his “Stuck Up”: “I don’t
wanna hear shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!” Yea, hearin’ tha 1st
verse, and it sounds like some influence from that song!! A lil’ catchy, but
I’ll always think of “Stuck Up”! Got Juicy J on tha 2nd verse;
couldn’t exactly tell it was him, at first. Glad he don’t sound wack wit a wack
flow or whateva! Good shit, too! Nice collaboration, overall, even wit tha
“Stuck Up” sound-alike! My Rating: 4.4
½time: Wow, very good CD so far, Gates!! Despite you bein’ bigger than before,
this CD has a 4.4
score for my CD rating, currently!!!! Really feelin’ these new producers on tha
tracks, as well as what you’re bringin’ to tha table!! Keep up tha great work!!
09.
“Change On Me” Feat. Percy Keith & Mista Cain
Let’s see what kinda collaboration we got here,
vs. tha mainstream, Juicy J one… >>> Okay, beat’s a lil’ on a typical,
mainstream rap sound… Good rhymes, includin’ how tha beat gets quiet, here and
there. You said it: “Born in 1986;” that makes sense ‘cause peeps that you
first rapped with, such as Yung Sicka, are born in ’85… Tha hook sounds good,
but I can’t understand all these ‘close friends’ and “neva change on me”-type
lyrics… Almost thought it was you on tha 2nd verse, but it’s Percy
Keith. Sounds good fa this; blends in wit you, a lil’, though some of tha
flow’s soundin’ like that boring, mainstream-like shit that’s out now (wit tha
background ad-libs)… What about, “Ya Boy Earl, you betta not change on me”? Did
I miss hearin’ him? Now, random rapper, Mista Cain, on tha 3rd
verse; where’d he come outta, here? Ehh, why “bitch”-related rhymes? Sounds
like somethin’ for tha streetz that turned into somethin’ fa tha hoes wit tha 3rd
verse; kinda threw thangz off… My
Rating: 3.8
10.
“Tiger”
Like
Katy Perry, will this have some “tiger”-like, “Roar” controversy, lol?
>>> Damn, anotha beat tag in tha beginning? When will that faggy trend
go away?? Sounds like tha other beat, only wit betta sounds… Hearin’ tha 1st
verse, and it sounds good wit how you’re comin’ through wit some nice rhymes,
here! Ooh, tha hook, I’m definitely
feelin’ how you comin’ through as “a
tiger!!” They need ta photoshop your picture on a “tiger,” Gates!! Tha 2nd
verse sounds pretty consistent, too, strictly deliverin’ these rhymes!! My Rating: 4.3
11.
“Smiling Faces”
>>>
Likin’ tha intro wit you sayin’, “bruh.” Oh, just as I was gettin’ into tha 1st
verse, you’re gettin’ nice and hoarse again, wit how you’re comin’ through wit
tha great delivery!! Tha hook sounds
catchy; sounds a lil’ random, at first, but it’s catchy, especially how you say
tha title. I like how tha 2nd verse’s soundin’, wit this smart
person, “psychology,” and all dat! Whoa @ tha yellin’ durin’ tha 2nd
verse; great anxiety, but a touch of strange wit how you comin’ through wit it!
I think it’s a real good thing,
though! Shows how different you are wit screamin’ on tha track! My Rating: 4.2
12.
“Patrick Swazy” Feat. Dreco
I
dunno about a name on tha title, but, I hope this feature pays off…
>>> Ehh, boring, mainstream-soundin’ beat, here, but tha hook picks it
up, as it’s catchy! “Patrick Swazy!” I like how you deliver this, but it’s got
a “Bandz A Make Her Dance” flow on tha hook, here… Will Miley Cyrus twerk ta
this? I say, yeah! Tha 1st verse sounds pretty good; nothin’ much ta
say… Huh? You said, “dreads,” on tha hook? You ain’t got them, but I wish you
did!! Okay, here’s this Dreco dude on tha 2nd verse, and I ain’t
feelin’ this at all. This iz what tha bullshit mainstream music sounds like,
wit tha flow and tryna-sound-good lyrics… Only a lil’ bit of it’s aight, but
that verse ain’t fa me… LOL @ you sayin’ “Dreco” on tha 3rd verse,
Gates… Okay, great job wit tha verse, but it’s startin’ ta get strange wit tha
really-fast rappin’, semi-yellin’, and a ton of random lyrics! My Rating: 3.7
13.
“Snake Nigga” Feat. Migos
Still
don’t know these features; where did they come from? >>> Ehh, what’s
up wit tha Mike WiLL Made It-like beat tag in tha beginning? Unoriginal,
already!! Oh God, WTF?! A “money” hook, mixed wit this Ca$h Out-like flow?! Pathetic hook!!! Wow, major thumbs down ta Migos on tha feature!!
Ugh, tha 1st verse, too!! How can you even put “mama” in a song like
this? People need ta stop bein’ mama’s
boyz!! I always remember when I was 12, and I asked my cousin—who was younger
than me—for where my mom was. He was like, in a thug perspective (‘cause he
lives in NYC), “Why?” From there, it’s almost like, uncool ta bring up your mom in shit. Now, I’m hearin’ it from
peeps like these peeps in their 20s?!? Hearin’ you on tha 2nd verse,
Gates, and, at least, you have some tight rhymes, here… I’ll give you your
props… Noooooooooo……………, again, this
Migos dude’s on tha 3rd verse, too?! Did a knife go down someone’s
throat, yet? Bet those brainwashed, people who flash money that ain’t got it
prolly bump this song on repeat, smfh!! This almost feels like it was Migos
song featuring Kevin Gates ‘cause of tha two verses and hook from him. Doesn’t
sound like somethin’ you claim as ‘your song,’ Gates! You should be ashamed that you included this on
here!!! My Rating: 1.1
14.
“Careful”
Ugh,
can I recover from that, with no features?! >>> Whew, back to normal!!
Feelin’ tha beat, and it sounds like you’re startin’ tha 1st verse
off nicely! LOL, tha hook sounds a lil’ cheesy wit tryna “be careful,” but it’s good, either way, wit how you’re
comin’ through wit it! Nice 2nd verse, too; keep my interest up!
Nice outro, too… My Rating: 4.0
15.
“Money Magnet”
Not
my kinda title, so let’s see if you can hold it down by yourself… >>>
Boring, mainstream-like sound, here, on tha beat… Your rhymes ain’t bad on tha
1st verse, comin’ through wit some street shit. Tha hook sounds a
lil’ catchy, but c’mon wit tha “money” obsession! I dunno how serious I can
take some of this shit—not sayin’ you’re not real. You’re real, but as far as
dudes takin’ this shit serious. I bet they prolly quotin’ this or somethin’:
“I’m a money magnet; I’m a money magnet.” LOL, was that a chicken sound in tha
beginning of tha 2nd verse, lol? Either way, nice 2nd
verse… My Rating: 3.5
16.
“Don’t Know What To Call It”
What’s
wit this title again?? >>> Disgusting beat tag shit in tha beginning…
How many songs you gon have wit this title/topic? Hook’s okay; it’s not like I
haven’t heard it… Tha 1st verse has a lil’ bit of a catchy vocal
effect in it and then, you took it off. LOL, if only other rappers listened…
Good rhymes, but you speedin’ up wit tha rhymes outta nowhere… This shit was
way better before your mainstream appeal. Sounds like you took one of your
“Don’t Know What To Call It” songs and turned it into a mainstream vibe. I
mean, listen to this beat, mixed wit how you comin’ through on tha hook…
Hearin’ tha 2nd verse, and it sounds good, so far… Ehh, not tha best
song fa me, overall. My Rating: 3.4
17.
“Angels”
>>>
Likin’ tha consistent rhymes fa tha start, here… I hear a hook, here and there
and then, it’s back to tha verses… I like how you got angry—but faster—toward
tha ending verse… Kinda gay that you ended it with, “…A name for it, but I
don’t know what ta call it.” Ehh, kinda a random way ta end this CD, but it’s
still pretty good. My Rating: 3.6
Overall: Thought this was an
excellent CD!! Kinda got weaker toward tha near-end, which prevented your CD
from gettin’ four stars from me. Next time, think about lettin’ certain
features in!
