Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. 01. “I Gotsta Have It”
Tha title track, so let’s see what he has to offer… >>> Sounds like you’re creating a “newer” sound from MC Hammer and them, lol. I like tha “I’m long and hard like an exam” line; not bad 1st verse. Startin’ tha 2nd verse off… LOL @ “bad like a 2nd grader!” Not bad 2nd verse also. Tha beat fits pretty nice witta song like this. LOL, anotha quoted line fa me: Verse 3: “To me, you’re like Popeye: relyin’ on spniach.” I also like tha “dipped in bleech” line. Feelin’ tha 3rd verse right there. I’m hearin’ “give it up, give it up” parts during tha end. Fa a second, it reminded me of Blu Black’s famous “get it up” part. I started feelin’ this joint better towards tha end when I heard tha hook fa tha last time. My Rating: 4.1
02. “You Can’t Trust No Hoe”
Let’s see what you gon talk (in detail) about on this one… >>> I like tha “bruh” part in tha beginning. Still feels great to know that “bruh” was around back then. LOL @ tha “dick/pussy” part in ’91! LOL @ tha sexualness!! Great sexualness. You said “girbauds?” Shiiiit, even that during ’91? Holy shit, what’s wit all tha shit goin’ on here? You started “cummin’,…she swallowed it…,” and more shit you said. Wow, great shit!! It feels like tha verse ain’t endin’! Wow, tha verse went ALL THA WAY ta 2:21!! I’m anticipated to hear tha 2nd verse now! Tha beat reminds me of SWV’s “Can We” wit tha way it sounds (and that song wasn’t out back in ’91). LOL @ actually puttin’ “takin’ a shit in tha bathroom” in your song! LOL @ “nuttin’ fa life” too; YOU’RE CRAZY!!! Sorry you received “an attitude.” LOL @ “kickin’ her!” Holy shit at tha “at Christmas, I leave all tha bitches giftless” line; MEAN, but GOOD!! That verse went ALL THA WAY ta 5:08!! REAL GREAT song!! Tha way I wanna hear songs about tha females iz when they’re REALLY dirty!! My Rating: 4.6
½time: Off to a GREAT start fa only 2 songs! I didn’t think tha 2nd song would catch on tha way it did, but THANX A LOT fa tha sex terms in tha song!!
03. “Meet Me In Rubenstein”
What’s gonna happen there? >>> Nice start. I like when tha sample says that R place (in tha title). Ooh, “get ill as a bir…[?]!” Ho-ly-shit! Tha verses seem pretty good on this shit too. Yeah, you “gotsta” anything in your hands. Oh, there’s a 4th verse here, and I like tha “polos” part in it. A very short 4th verse… This stayed pretty good throughout. My Rating: 3.8
04. “I Don’t Give A Damn About Your Boyfriend”
This should be a good one!! >>> A slower beat this time… Tha flowin’ sounds pretty good wit tha slowness. I like tha “but fuckin’ you iz a challenge, and fuckin’ her iz so easy” line. Also, I like tha “ya heard me” part too. Glad there’s more sexual lyrics in this one; great job on Verse 1! Interesting “pussy” story (hiding it also from otha dudes) in tha 2nd verse! This continued to be good wit tha short 3rd verse too. My Rating: 4.4
05. “That’s Why They Sell Dope”
Tha last song, yet tha 1st time I’m reviewin’ somethin’ where every track iz at least 5 minutes long! This should be a GREAT one, so lemme hear it!! >>> Cool beat on this one. Not bad fa a start, yet good. I like tha “I want presidents in my pocket like my pants was tha white house” line!! Interesting about tha “workin’ fa white folks or sellin’ dope” line. Interesting song, so thumbs up on tha whole thing, especially tha mix of tha story/lyrical content and tha beat. My Rating: 4.0
Overall: I thought this was a good tape! Nice and raw, 90’s style! I’m lookin’ forward to hearin’ more shit from you (which I have a few more of your shit that I gon review later in tha marathon)!
