Frankie still here... 'Bout to do my 3rd review today, still comin' from my marathon: Joe Blakk "It Ain't Where Ya From"! Start Time: 7:16 PM | End Time: 8:09 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me or have auto-tune in your vocals, I’m not buyin’ it!

01. "It Ain't Where Ya From"
Lookin' at it, and I see that there's a longer version later on in tha CD/tape... I'll listen to a few seconds of this one and decide which one's tha dirty version... >>> Only a few seconds in, and you said "nigga," so this iz tha dirty version. Listenin' real quick to tha otha version on here, and it's a live version, not a clean version (forgot that tha filename said it was live unlike tha track ID in my iTunes). Now, I'm anticipated, so lemme start ova! *Rewinds song back* You sound REAL GREAT on tha voice here, as well as rappin' wit your heart here; you ain't playin'! GREAT hook as well as tha beginning!! Tha beginning to tha 1st verse iz REAL GREAT; LUVIN' yo style right nah!! Real shit right here wit what goes on when you "say tha wrong thang." Interesting about "sellin' rocks" how dudes "sellin' cars" and shit to get money too. Yeah, "it ain't where ya from, it's where ya at!" I can agree wit that 'cause I FUCKIN' LUV Louisiana Rap music, and I'm all tha way in Northeast PA/originally from Long Island, NY. I can't help it, but I'm where I'm at; I'm still an influence to so many heads in Louisiana, especially Baton Rouge! I HOPE you're still alive as well as a bunch of people I was hoping was still around! Doin' yo thang on this shit, fa real; luv it! Tha rest of this shit went hard too; a REAL GREAT 90's Rap song!! I like hearin' tha "where you from, fool?" part at tha end, as well as your short, live part at tha end, where at 5:23, you said, "ya dig." My Rating: 4.5


02. "It Ain't Where Ya From (Remix)"
Right into tha remix here... I wonder how different it iz... >>> This might be tha first official "remix" song I'm reviewin' in my marathon (but I'm not 100 on that). Sounds like a clean version? Still, this shit sounds GREAT, as well tha GREAT rappin'! 2nd verse has a lot of consistent shit goin' on. This shit iz remindin' me of Lil' Boxx (young Baton Rouge rapper that's my age) wit all tha non-stop rappin'! If you're sayin', "hum brah," in tha hook, that's REALLY watz good. You know I'm gonna fuckin' luv tha rest of ya music! Nice remix, although tha original was better. My Rating: 4.3


03. "Hair Piece"
What do we got wit this song here? >>> Tha beat sounds pretty good, and tha flowin' iz still good. I don't know what else I can say fa now... I don't like tha "ahhhhhh, ..." part that one dude in tha background keeps doin' every 2 lines. Yea, I've been pretty tired of this song; can it end now? It finally changed up at 3:59... My Rating: 2.4


04. "Niggas Dying Young"
Could be good, but for me? Let's see... >>> Still, there's an annoying person every 2 lines? It sounds like someone wining... But tha 1st verse will let me give tha otha verses a chance; interesting hook. That's a true 2nd verse you spittin'; too many people go a lil' crazy in this world, sadly. I can't deal wit tha background (wining) vocals, but I'm tryna focus on them lyrics. Good 3rd verse too on this. Interesting "red neck" outro, lol. My Rating: 3.7


½time: Well, it's like 50/50 fa a start: REAL GREAT "It Ain't Where Ya From" single, although a lil' bit of a stumble on #3... #4 was okay, but I hope things get real better!


05. "Enemy To Officer Friendly"
Looks like a good title, lemme see... >>> Sounds like an "evading tha trigga" song. Didn't expect tha sample in tha beat, but it sounds good. LOL @ tha person that came outta nowhere afta tha hook and said some random shit. Tha hook was pretty good too. Let's see what this 2nd verse iz about... More police rhymes... I like tha "get that shit on fuckin' video tape" part! Good 2nd verse, and tha 3rd verse, let's see... Good "keep drawin' blood from me" part. You're anotha rapper that's expectin' to die? I don't like thinkin' that some of y'all would be like that (when you said "'til they put tha glock ta me"); it just iz scary thinkin' of it. Really, I HOPE all y'all rappaz I'm reviewin' from my marathon are still alive! Great 3rd verse too! LOL @ tha repetitive "...hurtin' on yo ass, man" part repeating at tha end. My Rating: 4.0


06. "Bring Dat Money Home"
Interesting title; I should luv it... >>> Catchy hook wit tha title! You doin' yo thang on tha beginning of tha 1st verse! I felt tha 1st verse; tha beat iz okay here. Tha 2nd verse was pretty good too on this. Hearin' tha 3rd verse, and I thought it was someone different at first, but it's you. LOL @ tha "sellin' bakin' soda." Liked tha 3rd verse too. I like tha "get a rock..." part at tha end; great outro! My Rating: 3.9


07. "It Ain't Where Ya From (Live From Christopher Holmes Projects)"
Let's see this live version, clockin' in at almost 6.5 minutes... >>> Soundin' pretty good live. It gives me tha feelin' of wishin' that I was there!! I like tha "niggaz 'bout to get jumped!" part from tha crowd, nice and loudly, at 1:43! Thumbs up to tha "quick buck" part from tha "rock" and tha "sellin' VCRs" shit again! Tha crowd seems to be gettin' me in a great mood. Tha "3rd ward got it too" part at 3:07 (from tha crowd yellin' it out) sounded NICE! Towards tha 5:20 mark, just tha crowd goin' NUTS wit tha title (when they say it) iz just a great feelin'! My Rating: 4.4


08. Let Me Holla
Tha last one... Wit exactly 4 minutes on tha length, how will you do? >>> Bad start... Okay, at least this ain't a song, and just shout outs. LOL @ "DJ Lowdown wit his black-ass" wit tha "wit his black-ass" part at 1:02. Heard tha "from LSU" part at 2:19. I WISH I could have went to a Louisiana school to get my college degree up and shit, but it's whateva; I can't do anything about it. As long as I'm gettin' my Digital Media degree at my college in Northeast PA, I'm good 'cause my commercials, reviewz, and all that good shit pays off fa me 'cause I LUV IT WIT A PASSION!!! LMAO @ tha dogs barkin' at 2:46! I like tha "ya heard me" part at 3:01 from tha "Memphis" peeps. FUCKIN' LUV tha "hum brah" part at 3:15; it's SO FUCKIN' COOL to hear "hum brah" on a 1993 release!! Great shit!! Nice ending to this wit "fuck dat nigga," lol. My Rating: N/A


Overall: Pretty good CD/tape. Most of tha songs I pretty much was really feelin', so thumbs up to you. I think you're a REAL GREAT Louisiana rapper, and if you still around, keep doin' yo thang! I think I got otha shit from you comin' up in my marathon, so I'mma be excited fa dat!
