Reviewed on 7.09.2009 (Review #265)
Ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog 'bout ta do tha 5th review of tha day! That's right!! This next one gon be a quick one. Can it set tha record fa shortest review of 11 minutes? It's Short T & Daddy Yo "Both Sides Of The Story"! Start Time: 8:31 PM | End Time: 8:42 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0. Each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself with my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.
01. "Both Sides Of The Story"
Tha street version (so I'm assumin' tha radio version should be coming up)! Looks like this gon be good (I like tha front/back cover of this CD/tape wit it bein' a book)! >>> Sounds like a male/female duet here. Tha 1st verse from tha female iz soundin' catchy wit those lyrics! Tha "flashlight" part was cool. Ooh, a 2nd part from tha male, comin' through hard. Tha next part from tha female was good, and now, tha male... His part iz pretty catchy this time. LMAO @ "ya old tired-ass tramp!" Tha female here, fightin' tha "tired-ass tramp" line, lol. Here comes tha male, doin' a lil' bit of a sex scene here! Tha female did tha ending good, so thumbs up on this shit! My Rating: 4.1
02. "Niggas & Bitches"
Catchy title! I expect it ta be like tha last song! >>> Sounds like a betta intro here! I really like tha beat style here, as it reminds me of some shit from tha past!! Great job on tha 1st verse from tha male! Tha 2nd verse here iz also from tha male, and it's off to a great start wit tha lyrics here! Anotha "187" part in tha verse? What does that mean? Here comes tha female, givin' it a lil' bit of a Lady Saw style wit that Jamaican voice in tha beginning! Her part was good, and tha part wit her on tha hook was nice too! LOL @ how she says "nigga" in tha title; sounds like her tongue iz vibrating! My Rating: 4.4
½time: Although it tha 1/2 point, I think tha review iz over. Either way, both them jointz were good! Thumbs up on this shit!
03. "Both Sides Of The Story (Radio)"
Glad ta see tha radio version here; might get Marywood exposure from me! See #1 fa tha review!
04. "Niggas & Bitches (Instrumental)"
How come there's talkin' in tha beginning? I thought this iz just an instrumental? Then again, tha hook has explicitness in tha sample in tha hook. I was seein' if I could use this during my radio shifts at Marywood (clean versions only, sadly). Either way, glad tha TIGHT instrumental iz on here! See #2 fa tha review!
Overall: Shit, it just tied tha fastest review at 11 minutes! Now, I have 2 reviews at 11 minutes, so thumbs up! Thanx 4 this great EP! Both songs were GREAT! Keep doin' y'all!
