Review #1,362: Big2 "Far From Perfect"

Though I’m on a “Louisiana diet” from music and shit, I got one CD I gotta review, real quick: 380 Muzik’s Big2 Far From Perfect. I have ta agree wit tha title, here: I’m definitely far from perfect, mainly in this music industry. I honestly can’t wait ta fall off, so random people with no money/bullshit can leave me alone! Start Time: 5:27 PM | End Time: 6:15 PM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you use tha word “swag” frequently, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money and hoes 100,000x (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it! After I was robbed by an artist who claimed they “get money,” hearin’ about how much you “got money” and anything “money” really bothers me. If you have not done business wit me before, I won’t tolerate “money” talk in tha music!!

01. “Honest (Freestyle) (Intro)”

Really? >>> That first few seconds didn’t sound like it, at first, but it’s “Honest”… A lil’ long on this intro… After 55 seconds, here comes tha start… I dunno, I’m not feelin’ some of tha lyrics, especially that you start with “money;” really? Prolly should stick to writing tha rhymes down. People that claim to “not write down” seem to be one-dimensional with tha rhymes. Tha 2^nd verse has anotha bad start: “My main bitch wanna fuck me;” anotha typical topic… Aight, cuttin’ this after all tha “you a broke boy” shit. My Rating: 1.1

02. “Solo Dolo”

From an “Honest (Freestyle)” to an original production from this JD dude? >>> This iz much better for a start; let’s hope your lyrics don’t ruin it, though tha hook’s nice, so far… Tha 1^st verse sounds good wit tha “purple lean.” Does every song have ta have somethin’ about money in it? Sounds like, in typical peoples’ perspective, that it’s embarrassing to not rap about money or hoes, smh? Not really feelin’ tha 2^nd verse’s lyrics, as it’s on that typical shit. Definitely wait to be a dad; don’t need anotha teenage dad tryna rap/teenage rapper tryna father! That’s anotha main reason why people fall off! This wasn’t too bad, but mixed after I heard tha 2^nd verse. My Rating: 3.6

03. “Same Ol’ Shit”

JD on tha beat… >>> Nice beat, but I think you contradicted yourself with your own title, here: Lyrics sound like tha “same ol’ shit!” It ain’t too bad, though, but nothin’ special, like tha title explains. Tha 2^nd verse iz also boring; blah, blah, blah… Next time, don’t call tha song somethin’ that contradicts a good rating! My Rating: 2.8

04. “Loaded”
>>> “Club banga;” why no listed producer, then? Guess it’s an online beat… Either way, I’m definitely feelin’ tha content on tha hook with tha “jiggaz” and shit, though it’s on some internet-rap sound, here, as you’re not really known… Tha 1^st verse’s aight…; hook sounds tha best on this track, here. Tha 2^nd verse ain’t too bad, either; damn, you ruined it: “Pocket fulla money;” why? I have to admit, I like tha “jumpin’ around like some bunnies” line. My Rating: 3.1

05. “Bonnie & Clyde”
>>> Sounds like somethin’ Big Wayne shouldn’t rap about, but does (gangsta bitches who hold you down). Damn: “I let her count my money;” hate “money” shit, and it goes back to soundin’ like tha Big Wayne song (“Gangsta Bitch”). LOL, sounds like “We Bunny,” almost, with how you say it; bunnyful! Now, gangsta shit on tha 2^nd verse? Real mixed up wit tha content, here; sounds like everything typical thrown into every verse, which bores me… My Rating: 2.5

06. “Touched Up” (KZ Feat. Jizzle & Big2)

>>> Do I really have ta sit for tha whole 4:59??? When people gon put out an album again? Tha hook has some nice energy with this online beat, but with my interest in tha ‘random’ underground of Louisiana rap steadily deteriorating, I prolly would’ve loved this in 2009, compared to now. Tha 1^st verse from KZ’s okay; nothin’ terrible came outta tha verse, luckily. Tha 2^nd verse from Jizzle’s okay; it fits tha song, at least. Feelin’ how you comin’ through on tha 3^rd verse, 2! See, tha aggression’s here, and I’m likin’ how you say, “bruh,” twice! Just don’t ruin it wit any ‘money’ shit… Okay, thank God, there was no ‘money’ shit, and you did a nice job! See, this was worth my listen, at least! My Rating: 4.1

07. “Lately”
>>> A lil’ off-beat start, as well as a poppin’ “P” sound in “pissed off,” lol. I have trouble wit tha “P”s when doin’ voiceovers… Glad this iz a life song; tha content can be boring, but I’m likin’ tha hook. “Lately, I been fuckin’ wit Satan;” I dunno, but I like that. Tha 2^nd verse sounds like me, just on January 3, 2014: “I had a dream” that Katy Perry died, but instead, I woke up ta Ceddybu dying; weird. Not bad, overall; seemed like this takes tha cake, too. My Rating: 3.8

½time: So far, I’m feelin’ like this CD’s worth three stars; not too bad. At times, I don’t like tha typical content, especially braggin’ about “money” and shit. However, tha near-end of tha 1^st ½ picked up with tha collaboration and how you sound on tha tracks.

08. “Have It On Ya Mind”

JD beat. >>> Nice beat, and a cool-soundin’ hook, tryna evade tha “iron.” Not bad wit tha 1^st verse, here; let’s see how tha 2^nd verse sounds… “Swervin’” and “crashin’,” here; not bad… My Rating: 3.7

09. “1234” (Johnnieboi Feat. Big2 & Fred Lo)
>>> Izn’t this old? Tha list of people on tha song makes it look new, but I think I’m confusing it with your 1^st song, from years ago? Either way, nice hook on this good-soundin’ online beat. Tha 1^st verse sounds okay for some internet rap; gotta feel tha “pillz” shit! Tha 2^nd verse from you ain’t too bad; good “pill” shit. Glad you & Fred Lo be on dem jiggaz! Tha 3^rd verse from Fred Lo sounds good on this beat; it’s jammin’—oh wait, as he says, “jiggin’.” Wow, cold ending; ended outta nowhere. My Rating: 4.2

10. “Servin’ Junkies” (Kaydee Feat. Big2)

JD beat. >>> Likin’ tha beat start a lot, so far; let’s see how this sounds… A nice intro from Kaydee, and tha beginning sounds good wit you on it. Good 1^st verse from you, and now, some Kaydee… Good voice on tha hook, though it sounds really random wit how he sounds on tha track, overall. Okay, here’s tha 2^nd verse from him… Still a random sound, but it ain’t too bad… Ehh, a lil’ typical toward tha 2^nd ½ of tha verse, here… No transition, here, as it’s a neva-endin’ verse? Sometimes, I can’t tell, but decent, overall. My Rating: 3.5

11. “Thank God”

JD beat, again. >>> An okay beat/hook, so far… Hearin’ tha 1^st verse, and though you said, “Gettin’ paid,” I’ll let that line slide, since it wasn’t too cocky with how you said it. However, if there’s anotha ‘money’-like rhyme in this song, I’ll criti—fuck, “Tryna see 100 racks;” nooooooooooo!!! Tha 2^nd verse ain’t bad, so far…; not bad, overall. My Rating: 3.0

12. “Manish Fa 2”
LOL? >>> Not really anticipatin’ a used Mouse beat fa an internet rapper like you; let’s see… Tha hook kinda sounds like somethin’ Juvenile would come up wit, here. I know my head’s not all tha way connecting wit this beat, at tha moment, but if this a Mista track or somethin’, I should completely criticize it reappearin’. Wow, this was short; not bad, overall, but I was into tha hook and how it sounded! My Rating: 3.4

13. “Dem Niggaz” Feat. Fred Lo & Tre Kool
JD beat. >>> Not bad wit tha beat, here; sounds like you’re comin’ through nicely on tha 1^st verse… Tha 2^nd part from Fred Lo ain’t too bad, here… Tha hook came outta nowhere; sounds good. That Tre Kool dude sounds good on tha 3^rd verse; pretty good wit tha rapid-soundin’ rhymes! Not corny-fast like Kevin Gates, but that good shit! My Rating: 3.9

14. “Bulletproof (Freestyle) (Outro)”
>>> Not bad, so far… Kinda boring wit tha cocky attitude during tha 1^st verse. What if I said that tha bitches haven’t come my way, yet? Hearin’ this closely, and it sounds like tha Foxx song on tha hook. Weird, especially since I previously didn’t know tha title; didn’t realize he jacked tha beat, too. Tha 2^nd verse ain’t too bad, either… My Rating: 3.2

Overall: This “mixtape” got better toward tha 2^nd ½; not bad, overall. Catchy, but I’d stick to 100% original production. In my opinion, jacked beats are kinda done, don’t ya think?
