Keepin’ it goin’ here, I have a new artist I was introduced to recently: J.Hu$tle! Let’s hope I can handle this mixtape ‘cause I wanna show luv ta J! Regardless of what happens, I’m already gettin’ his music on my radio show so he’ll get dat appreciation! Here goes my review for J.Hu$tle “Gorilla Hu$tle (Da Mixtape)”! Start Time: 11:09 AM | End Time: 12:25 PM


Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Be Prepared”
Oh, I am “prepared,” lol! Wit tha big-name features on your CD—from tha N.O.—this should be pretty tight!! >>> Well, not tha kinda start I expected (or wanted). Maybe, it’ll get betta but this izn’t an intro song for me. Tha rappin’ on tha 1st verse’s pretty good wit tha lyrics and rappin’ of your flow; I’m just not likin’ this beat choice. I thought afta tha 1st verse, it ended; good thing there’s anotha verse… Ugh, can’t take this beat!! Weird how there’s orgasms and shit in tha background, lol. My Rating: 2.4


02. “Time 4 Me” Feat. Byou2ful
Good thing for listin’ tha feature. This way, I know who it iz on my radio show (since I don’t like when people are unlisted). I believe this was a somewhat-aight joint when I previewed it when you sent it to me. Let’s see how it does on a review… >>> Yea, not too into tha beat start but you sound anticipatin’ in tha beginning. Iz it me or does tha beginning sound like tha volume’s at a peak or somethin’? Well, this iz betta than tha 1st song I just listened to; pretty good hook from Byou2ful. Sounds pretty good on tha 1st verse for this song’s content. This iz tha 1st time I’m hearin’ this in its full form. You even sent me a Bounce remix, which I might play dat version on my radio show. Almost sounds like a Pop-type song compared to tha intro on this… My Rating: 3.5


03. “Gangstafied” Feat. KLC, Mo B Dick, Calicoe The Champ, Reep & Byou2ful
What a lineup, lol! Tha 5:40 length explains why! Let’s see how this’ll sound… >>> Okay, I’m likin’ this smooth sound! Jacked beat or not: pretty good 90’s feel here! Tha 1st verse sounds consistent wit tha rappin’; glad tha features can help you out here! LOL @ tha contributin’ vocals from Byou2ful on tha hook. Prolly could’ve minused it ‘cause it was good as it originally was. LOL, Calicoe on tha 2nd verse here, doin’ his thang. He’s got dat voice ta hold thangz down! Likin’ his “got coke, crack, weed,” etc. line! Even though this iz kinda long, this iz a good radio song fa me. Almost good as if it was a flashback; tha features would be a main reason! I try to get as many people on tha show as possible! Sounds like you on tha 3rd verse here; feelin’ how tha verse’s bein’ delivered once again! My Rating: 4.4


04. “Duck Down” Feat. Trick Daddy & Notorious B.I.G.
WTH wit tha features? >>> Well, this iz definitely acceptable for tha beat and sample on tha hook! This was good as an original so I’m sure it’s GR8 for you too! Huh? Not acceptable ta have tha original 1st verse! No need to include Trick’s verse; it’s a “mixtape.” Shouldn’t even be 1:16:01 long anyway… Now, here you are on tha 2nd verse: Nice street content here, doin’ tha damn thang. There’s 1:43 left; hope you’re continuin’ this or else, it’s deduct—oh no, Biggie!! Wit everything I have goin’ on, I don’t need ta hear shit I don’t need ta hear! Even Trick on tha 2nd ½… Deduction due to tha extra shit not needed. My Rating: 3.0


05. “Gotta Stay High” Feat. Al Capizle
I hope this turns out GR8; you know I luv “high” songs!! >>> Intense beat start wit an intense 4:48 length! Okay, sounds REAL ANTICIPATIN’ @ :23!! Wow, you REALLY doin’ tha damn thang here on tha hook!! Almost like a Redman-type attitude wit tha “roll dat shit, man…” part!! Let’s see what we got fa tha 1st verse… Feelin’ tha “O.G.” rhymes added ta this topic! Tha 2nd verse sounds like some motivated-type shit. Gotta have “tha purp” and err-thang! Tha 3rd verse iz also soundin’ good; “gotta” feel it! My Rating: 4.5


06. “Pop My Trunk” Feat. Corner Boy P
Looks like a jacked beat-kinda song? >>> Yup, it iz. I guess tha length explains it ‘cause it’s short… This izn’t too bad for a start… Just a decent lil’ 1st verse from Corner Boy P… You’re on tha 2nd verse and it’s betta ta mainly hear you; a lil’ betta here from P. My Rating: 3.6


07. “Keepin’ It G”
It’s all “G” where you at so deliver it! >>> Tha beat sounds pretty good, I guess. Sounds like there’s a lil’ bit of Soul and Funk added to it (if it’s an original beat). Tha hook’s pretty nice wit dat “keepin’ it gangsta” shit goin’ on… You’re spittin’ some good shit on tha 1st verse here; keep it goin’! Tha 2nd verse has a nice start wit “I’m a fire hazard” line! Pretty good once again; let’s see tha 3rd verse… LOL, now, a “kush” start to tha 3rd verse, lol! Glad you switchin’ it up so many times! Good shit here wit tha “cable” and err-thang else! LOL, fade-out at ‘round :27? Hope there’s not too much silence at tha end… Oh, “some trees” ending, lol! Well, there was eight seconds of silence… My Rating: 4.2


08. “Thuggin’ N Druggin’” Feat. Fiend & Corner Boy P
LOL, tha N.O. version of “Thuggin’ N Druggin’” since I heard a “Thuggin’ & Druggin’” from Baton Rouge rapper Delwin The Krazyman not too long ago this year! >>> Wow, gangsta-ass start wit tha shootin’ in tha beginning!! Tha beat’s pretty Southern/Country, lol. Interestin’ mix here and it must be Fiend on tha 1st verse, REALLY spittin’ dat HOT-ASS shit here!! He keepin’ it REAL, REAL consistent for tha gangstaz and tha streetz!! Wow, tha hook iz DEFINITELY on fire!!! VERY HOT here wit tha contributions of all y’all!!! Here you are on tha 2nd verse, keepin’ it G like your last song, lol! This iz DEFINITELY a plus fa you; strictly comin’ through wit tha HEAVY street shit!! Tha 3rd verse iz Corner Boy P, spittin’ some pretty good shit. I was gonna say dat it was decent ‘til I heard his “ma’fucka” attitude, lol! My Rating: 4.8


09. “D-Bag Boy” Feat. Lil’ Wayne
Yawn… I know what this gon turn out ta be… >>> Oh, thought it was “I’ma D-Boy” (which was what tha title threw me into) but it’s “Duffle Bag Boy”; hope I don’t have ta hear tha original parts… Oh no, tha hook; skipped it! That brought it to you on tha 1st verse, spittin’ pretty good shit on this beat. LOL, “money” makes your “dick hard;” lol? Funny part wit a nice lil’ verse from you. SMH, sounded like I heard a “paste sound” before tha 2nd hook. My new thing iz to skip Pop hooks like dis when I’m reviewin’ so I don’t have ta hear it, ESPECIALLY an ’07 one!! Now, let’s see what you got fa tha 2nd verse… Good rappin’; that’s all I can say. I thought there would be a 3rd verse but this stupid hook’s in tha way… My Rating: 3.2


½time: This mixtape’s off to a pretty good start; doin’ a nice job here at times! So far, 3.7 for tha CD rating; how will we continue?


10. “Say Yaah!” Feat. Dick D’arby
Thought it said, “Yeah!,” on tha title, lol. What’ll this be like? >>> Kinda Soulful for a start here… Okay, it’s soundin’ real good once I heard tha hook!! Reminded me of some Skull Duggery-type shit fa some reason, which got me anticipated! Tha 1st verse’s pretty nice from Dick, doin’ his thang! You’re on tha 2nd verse, spittin’ some “lyrical shots” at err-body; nice-ass shit! Okay, Dick’s back on tha 3rd verse, spittin’ dat hot shit; 90’s-type vocals here! Ooh, you appeared randomly on tha 2nd ¼ of tha verse wit tha “smokin’ trees” shit; feelin’ it!! Here’s Dick on tha 3rd ¼, doin’ his thang to tha fullest!! Here you are on tha 4th ¼, keepin’ it goin’; DEFINITELY plus for four parts!! My Rating: 4.6


11. In Luv Skit
What’s this? >>> I’m 16 seconds in and nothin’ goin’ on? Okay, here we are @ :19; why was there so much silence? Kinda decent wit tha acapella shit but it sounds REAL NICE wit tha “smoke” shit; it feels REAL GR8 ta hear tha inhale/exhale shit! Where’s tha inhale/exhale shit afta a few times? Hope this iz an actual song ‘cause I’d prolly rate it pretty high! My Rating: N/A


12. “Raw Material”
Well, let’s see if this continues from dat last skit. >>> Sounds like an interestin’ beat start; you sound good and high in tha intro here! Oh, this izn’t from tha last skit? Damn… But, pretty good hook here; this beat’s nice and consistent ta keep it goin’! Tha 1st verse was kinda short but I’m anticipatin’ what you got afta dat skit! Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re spittin’ some shit from tha brain, doin’ ya thang (lol @ tha rhymin’)! I believe a 3rd verse can fit here so let’s see what you got… Okay, it sounds pretty good; dat hook just keeps comin’ and it’s soundin’ GR8 when it’s delivered! My Rating: 4.3


13. “I Got Gramz” Feat. Fiend & Corner Boy P
Oh shit, GLAD it’s a real feature list!!! This iz somethin’ I’ll REALLY look forward to wit 4:08 on tha length!! >>> Ahh, duplicate beat I heard from in tha past, although I’m still lookin’ forward ta hearin’!! Sounds pretty nice on tha hook as tha 1st version I heard: Yung Yola Feat. Kydro Da Sickest “Gotta Plan”! Here’s Fiend on tha 1st verse, gutta as fuck!! Likin’ tha “comeback/boomerang” shit! VERY NICE 1st verse here!! Ooh, here you are on tha 2nd verse, spittin’ nice shit too! Ooh, Corner Boy P sounds REAL NICE on tha 3rd verse too; NOTHIN’ but pluses here!!! “Smellin’ like a pound, man!” Iz dat you at tha end? My Rating: 4.7


14. “Y We Still Talkin’” Feat. Calicoe The Champ
Looks good on tha title here; sounds like an attitude ‘bout ta apply! >>> Sounds REAL TIGHT for tha start so far; feelin’ pretty anticipated!! LOL, this iz a pretty nice hook here from you!! You have a STRONG attitude and just doin’ tha damn thang fa tha undaground here!! Nice job on tha 1st verse and I’m DEFINITELY lookin’ forward ta hearin’ Calicoe!!! LOL, it’s still you on tha 2nd verse, keepin’ it goin’ here! Shit, yea!! Calicoe on tha 3rd verse!! He sounds GR8 ta collab wit you on dis shit! LOL, you stole his shine on tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse, makin’ it sound more like a collaboration! My Rating: 4.5


15. “What U Get”
Looks like anotha attitude; lookin’ forward! >>> Nice beat start… Oh, tha hook’s like A+ wit how it sounds!!! Gutta-ass shit comin’ from you right here!! You’re REALLY gettin’ betta wit these songs as tha mixtape slowly ends!!! I like tha “smokin’” start in tha 1st verse; keepin’ it REAL G here!!! Tha 2nd verse iz also soundin’ pretty good; I like tha “Dirty Harry” quote! Glad you fuck wit all these people ‘cause they REAL GR8!!! Very strong attitude and perspective on tha 3rd verse when it comes ta “how much you can do before jail!” My Rating: 4.7


16. “Make It Or Take It” Feat. Al Capizle & 6th Ward Pook
Wow, what an anticipatin’ lineup!! >>> This sounds like Early 2000’s/Late 1990’s wit tha Cash Money sound in tha vibe!! Nice-ass hook here and tha 1st verse’s just REALLY holdin’ it down!!! Really likin’ tha “my nigga” shit goin’ on here; VERY consistent!! This would be a BITCH ta radio edit wit all those “my nigga” parts; who knows what songs I’ll get on tha radio ‘cause I do like a bunch more than “Time 4 Me”! Tha 2nd verse iz DEFINITELY nice too!! Let’s keep dis REAL HOT shit goin’!!! Tha 3rd verse iz also real nice here; all y’all doin’ it BIG!!! Tha content’s just SO GUTTA for tha N.O.!!! My Rating: 4.7


17. “Give It 2 U Raw”
Anotha “raw” title; lookin’ forward!! >>> Okay, we’re keepin’ tha REAL HOT shit comin’!!! Tha beat’s pretty nice here and you’re doin’ a NICE job wit tha attitude here!! VERY consistent on tha verses here wit tha gutta-ass sounds of you!! You REALLY progressed from tha start of this mixtape!! It’s like ALL tha ratings were double tha first song!! My Rating: 4.6


18. “They Want Beef” Feat. 6th Ward Pook, Lil’ Keedy & Twizzy
This iz ANOTHA REAL HOT lineup!!! Lil’ Keedy had died? When? Neva heard of him… I KNOW dis gon be REAL TIGHT!!! >>> Oh, back to tha jacked beats here, but on an ’03 level! Odd ta hear this appear twice within like a month that I have reviewed, when it’s seven years old (damn @ tha age; time flies!). Tha hook sounds pretty nice here and this beat iz classic! Definitely a GR8 1st verse right here!! Oh, it sounds like you and one of tha collaborators doin’ tha damn thang together on tha hook!! It sounds like it’s even goin’ through tha 2nd verse a lil’ bit ‘til Bar #3! My Rating: 4.4


19. “A Time 4 Dis”
How will we end it? >>> Sounds like a catchy start; almost thought it was B.G. wit tha “wahhh”! A 2 Da J in tha intro here? He sounds pretty catchy wit how he’s deliverin’ tha intro! I don’t know why he ain’t on tha feature but he doin’ a NICE job here wit you!! I think he was on anotha song on here but I don’t rememba which one… He sounds GR8 on this 1st verse wit this G-shit!! Tha hook’s pretty catchy here; I’m likin’ “dis” “time” shit, lol! Tha 2nd verse sounds pretty raw too!! Wow, A 2 Da J’s REALLY holdin’ this song down, lol!! LOL @ tha “I smoke so much weed;” just GUTTA tha way dat came outta his mouth in perfect English, lol!! My Rating: 4.6


Overall: Wow, just wow!! This mixtape started off as just a decent mixtape for me, wit only havin’ a 3.7 average CD rating. But then, tha 2nd ½ took off and EVERY song rated 4.3 and higher!!! That’s BIG right there from an N.O. cat!! Thumbs up, my boy!! You should DEFINITELY like this review ‘cause tha average CD rating managed to JUMP up a ½ point, which iz rare that a jump like that happens!!!
