Reviewed on 12.07.2009 (Review #353)
Back again! It’s FrankieThaLuckyDog and I got a newbie (might’ve friend requested me not too long ago?) I ‘bout ta review. Outta Alexandria, LA, this iz for Yung Jae The Prince and his CD, Street Muzik Vol. 1! Here goes my review fa Yung Jae The Prince Street Muzik Vol. 1! Start Time: 6:40 PM | End Time: 8:16 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0. Each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself with my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.
© 2009 CD Review by FrankieThaLuckyDog. Other than tha main artist or affiliated people with tha main artist, this review iz to not be used in anyone else’s words!
01. “Street Muzik Vol. 1 (Intro)” Feat. Allie Boy
Looks like it gon be an intro track! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ what you got!! >>> Sounds like a Runners beat type for tha beginning. Then, about 15 seconds later, it sounds original. You sound pretty cool for a start here. Tha rappin’ started at :42 and it sounds like you’re actually in front of tha mic spittin’ in a booth! That verse was okay for what it was; good for an intro like this though. Now, a talkin’ interlude, basically sayin’ that this mixtape iz out now. LOL @ how you’re sayin’, “Vol. 1,” almost like you’re singin’ it. Ooh, I hear a featured person on tha 2nd verse. He said his name was “Allie Boy,” so I’ll put him on tha feature. He sounds MUCH betta on this verse than you for a start. Gr8 rhymes ta explain that this iz out! My Rating: 3.9
02. “Get Off Me”
Looks like you don’t wanna be bothered… … … …Okay. Nah, I’m just kiddin’. OF COURSE I’ll review you, lol! >>> I can tell it’s original production in tha beginning based off tha quiet beat sound. Sounds a lil’ like “This Is Why I’m Hot” with its sound. Even tha flow iz a lil’ like it… Your rappin’ pretty good on this, betta than tha intro song. Glad there’s “no competition” when it’s for this Rap shit. I would say, “yea,” for Alexandria ‘cause you’re prolly one of tha only ones I know from there now. Tha 1st verse was good and tha hook iz nice too! LOL, ewe, only one verse! Tha fade-out surprised me outta nowhere! My Rating: 4.0
03. “Now Get It” Feat. Allie Boy & TJ GameWrecker
Yea! Thumbs up to havin’ some gr8 featured people (mainly their names since I neva/barely heard them)! Let’s see how good this song iz!! >>> OMG, what a BAD deal! Prolly could’ve had somethin’ different on tha beat ‘cause I just heard this from a young kid (Junie June)… Once again, we got tha “Boi (I Got So Many)” beat… Anyway, you’re comin’ through hard on tha 1st verse here. Wit a somewhat good beat, you KNOW err-body’ll come harder than tha original! LOL @ tha vocal start to tha 2nd verse… At least he’s clearer on tha mic than internet rappers; thumbs up, Allie Boy! Still comin’ through wit tha pretty good rhymes. I like how he rhymed “bruh” wit somethin’; good shit! I wonder what this TJ dude sounds like and why he’s tha “GameWrecker?” Okay, he’s definitely soundin’ good since he’s “jiggin’ and blowin’” on sum good shit! Glad you got some patnaz, ESPECIALLY on your CD! My Rating: 4.2
04. “Fool Wit It (Now Watch Me Do Me)”
I don’t really anticipate/try to like tha “Watch Me Do Me” part in tha title, so I can just imagine what this’ll sound like… >>> Sounds like a different beat fa me; nothin’ bad so far. I hear tha full title… I knew tha 2nd part of tha title was gonna lead inta somethin’ weird (lead into “…do my dance”). Not tha worst but it’s aight so far. Sounded like a really short 1st verse? Tha 2nd verse (if that’s so) iz a lil’ typical/nearly becomin’ below average. Once I heard tha “Ricky Bobby” thing, I wanted ta lower my rating. Plus, even down ta tha flow soundin’ like those bad dance songs out. My Rating: 2.6
05. “RedBonez” Feat. Allie Boy
I like tha “z” in tha title, but you’re gonna have ta explain greatly in tha song ta make me like it! >>> I heard a “HiTz Committee” intro in tha beginning so I’m assumin’ it’s a jacked beat. I neva heard this beat yet but it sounds betta than tha last song! Tha hook iz pretty catchy and this style gives it a near-Louisiana style here. Tha 1st verse iz here and it’s definitely for tha “RedBonez” here! Pretty good so far… Let’s see how good Allie Boy’ll be… Oh wait, that’s you on tha 2nd verse. You’re pretty hungry on tha 2nd verse; suck on sum “RedBonez,” lol! Okay, here he comes on tha 3rd verse! I like how his voice stands out on tha track. More on tha “hungry for sex” tip here. He doin’ a good job wit what he’s doin’; glad it’s his “philosophy!” My Rating: 4.2
06. “Jockin’ Me”
This could be anything… Who and why would someone “jock you?” Curious… >>> Tha beat iz slowly gettin’ familiar… Actually, not 100% sure on it but it’s just okay for a song of yours so far. Not really feelin’ tha snappin’ in tha beat and tha hook iz too simple. Not too hype on tha lyrics on tha 1st verse; very simple here and sounds like a mainstream song now. At least tha 1st ½ of tha hook iz a lil’ on tha cool side… Only one verse? LOL, that doesn’t exactly help… My Rating: 2.9
07. “Born A Stunna” (Key Key Feat. Allie Boy & Yung Jae The Prince)
How come you’re featured on your own song? Or iz it Allie Boy Feat. you? For a 5:55 song, I BETTA like it!! >>> Tha intro sounds pretty good for a start. Tha hook sounds cool and wit “stunna” bein’ in tha title, I can tell this iz on a Louisiana level! Tha 1st verse soundin’ good, doin’ ya thang. Only “19,” huh? That’s cool that I’m older than you! Now I KNOW you’ll like what I’m doin’! Once again, it sounds like you on tha mic in a booth spittin’ this; I can picture it! Pretty good 1st verse; how will tha remainin’ parts of tha song go? On tha 2nd verse also. I’m assumin’ this iz your song so I’m just gonna take you outta tha “feature” since this iz your CD. Good rhymes for tha 2nd verse. What’s up wit tha “goons 12 years old, all pullin’ triggaz?” Why they like dat at dat age? Tha 3rd verse iz from Allie Boy and I’m likin’ him once again!! He’s such a standout on tha tracks! Glad he’s got a voice like this and deliverin’ some hood shit! I like tha “don’t let dat green grass fool ya” line, lol! LOL, what’s up wit tha voice? Oh aight, it’s you. So really, you didn’t do tha beginning of tha song… You DO sound good on this 4th verse; I gotta figure out who’s on tha 1st and 2nd verses as well as tha hook. Glad you deliverin’ tha catchy shit; I’ll put you back in tha feature since this iz that one dude’s song! My Rating: 4.4
EDIT: Couldn’t find tha main artist in your top friends but durin’ tha 2nd verse, she (didn’t realize she was a female at first) said, “Keke,” so I’m assumin’ that’s her name.
08. “Get Ya Mind Right” Feat. Key Key
Oh, there we go! Tha lady from tha last song iz on tha feature this time. *Goes and correct her name* Now, let’s see what you and her got on this one, even though we’re Allie Boyless… >>> Not really likin’ tha beat choice (I think it was a Trick Daddy song from last year) ‘cause I’ve heard it a few times. Let’s see how good y’all do though… Okay, tha beginning sounds pretty good from you. More on tha fightin’ tip wit tha “left jab” and all dat. I like tha Baton Rouge song references and all dat durin’ tha near-end of tha verse (e.g., “Out Da Box” and “Watch My Shoes”). Pretty good hook also; at least it’s energetic! Here’s tha 19 year old a.k.a. Key Key on tha 2nd verse! She did a nice contribution to this song, ya dig! Oh damn, didn’t realize tha song ended so soon… My Rating: 3.8
½time: Nice start so far. You get props for bein’ a rapper. No need for anyone ta hate on you, ya dig! Tha average CD rating iz currently at 3.8.
09. “Fuck Friend” Feat. LovaBoy Slim
Nearly looks like a jacked beat title; lemme see if I have correct guesses on this… >>> LOL @ your horny start. Not 100% sure on tha beat and it’s okay so far. Tha hook sounds somewhat good. Tha guy singin’ in tha background a lil’ weird for me. Sounds like he comes outta nowhere like every four lines. Tha lyrics are like too on tha introductory level, like, “Let’s start a conversation.” This must be a complete stranger you’re tryna talk to. Tha singer even iz on tha 2nd verse wit his singin’; somewhat “bone-feelin’/goosebumpy” for people ta hear but I ain’t gonna say anything about it. Even takin’ ova tha 3rd verse for LovaBoy Slim. He must like tha song more than you, lol. Neva mind, it wasn’t a verse (sounded like it), it was just an ending. My Rating: 3.2
10. “Bitch Get Out My Face” Feat. Key Key
This should be gr8 wit Key Key on it! >>> This beat nearly sounds like tha “Get It Bitch” beat… Sounds like a good hook. I prolly could’ve asked for a harder hook on tha flow and err-thang but it’s okay for now. You’re “teachin’” as tha “teacher” on tha 1st verse, all “out yo body” and err-thang; lol!! I like how you said, “I don’t care how you like my fuckin’ attitude! Bow, bow, bow, bow!” Now THAT’S tha attitude I wanted fa tha hook! Here are tha Keys (lol) on tha 2nd verse! She sounded pretty good on her part. Thanx fa mentionin’ someone “in tha club by themselves” all stranded and shit! Kinda short; I thought there was gonna be a 3rd verse… My Rating: 4.1
11. “Respect My Mind” Feat. Lil’ Quex & Allie Boy
I like that name, Quex. A “Q” and an “X,” lol! This I have a feelin’ gon be good!! >>> Sounds like a good beat start here. Why was this CD removed from DatPiff? Luckily, I downloaded it early! Soundin’ like a “150%” street level here on tha hook doin’ tha damn thang. You sound pretty good on tha 1st verse here, Jae. Gotta luv when rappers say “Louisiana” in their songs; it sounds GR8 hearin’ tha BEST music place in tha world for tha undaground, ya dig!! I actually like tha hook a lot finally; good shit! LOL, here’s tha Quex dude on tha 2nd verse! He sounds cool and I’m glad he introduced his name in tha intro of his verse! He “jiggin’ out his socks,” so you KNOW he on his shit! LOL @ him “laughin’ at you broke niggaz” (how he said dat); he’s unstoppable in his mind so ERR-BODY gon “respect his mind!” Likin’ that his verse iz pretty long; it’s STILL goin’!! Here comes tha typical standout voice on tha 3rd verse, Allie Boy!! Interestin’ rhymes goin’ on here and soundin’ gr8! Liked tha elements of “cold” and “hot” around tha 3:30ish mark! One way ta make a song REAL “hot” iz by includin’ elements of ice, water, fire, earth, wind, lightning, you know, like Final Fantasy and RPG games! My Rating: 4.5
12. “Real Recognize Real” Feat. Allie Boy
You must be B.F.F.’s wit Allie Boy I assume? That’s watz good! Y’all should do tha damn thang here! >>> Huh, what’s up wit tha slow song? Maybe you’re tryna go a slow street level fa this song? Allie sounded a lil’ odd on tha hook singin’ but it was somewhat good overall. He’s on tha 1st verse and it’s soundin’ good. Glad he’s rappin’ on this song ta keep my rating pretty neutral/good! Nice job on tha 1st verse; tha 2nd hook sounds betta wit you on it, Jae. And speakin’ of your good hook, you’re on tha 2nd verse! This iz soundin’ betta from tha intro! Keepin’ it street and “recognizin’” your “realness” in tha 2nd verse; that’s watz good! My Rating: 4.0
13. “Sets Up” (Allie Boy Feat. TJ GameWrecker)
Ooh, an Allie Boy song!! Lookin’ forward ta hearin’ this one wit tha TJ dude again! I guess we’ll have ta be Yung Jae The Princeless for 2:53, but you should be back on tha next song! >>> Sounds like an above average beat start. Allie sounds pretty good on tha 1st verse, spittin’ sum street shit! Allie doin’ tha damn thang on tha hook too; I like how he comin’ through, ESPECIALLY applyin’ tha typical Baton Rouge style hook formula of havin’ tha 2nd ½ of tha hook repeat! Good job wit tha hook and now, tha TJ dude on tha 2nd verse, REALLY comin’ gutta here!! Glad he’s tha “swisha sweet spokesman” too; that was a nice part! Tha rest of tha 2nd verse was good too, includin’ tha jiggalatin’ part near tha end of tha 2nd verse! Nice cold ending too although it would’ve been cool if I would’ve gotten ta hear tha hook once more! My Rating: 4.3
14. “Mz. Wet Wet” Feat. BE from TTE
I wonder what this’ll be? Are you gonna use a jacked beat? How did this become a bonus song? Lemme see… >>> LOL, sounds original wit tha “this anotha club banga, fool” intro! I thought this was gonna be soft, but wit RJ on tha track, this could go hard!! DEFINITELY a nice beat start here and tha beginning of tha 1st verse sounds good! This iz some GOOD shit right here!! What does water smell like, lol (since it said, “She smells like water,” in tha verse)? Nice job wit tha 1st verse as it was gr8 and tha hook iz catchy; kinda reminds me of Jigga City shit! I believe this iz you on tha 2nd verse, Jae. Yup, you said, “Take a picture of tha prince,” so I know it’s you! Why would you mention tha “Stanky Legg?” Pretty good 2nd verse; glad you sounded good on it. My Rating: 4.4
15. “On Dat Liquor” Feat. Allie Boy
Gotta have ANOTHA Allie Boy collaboration!! This should go hard like tha last song!! >>> This has anotha HOT original start!! A lil’ stealin’ of Derty’s part from “Uh Oh” in tha 1st ½ of tha hook. Who would’ve thought that song would get in tha mainstream? If I had a radio shift a year ago, I would’ve been tha 1st one ta play dat on tha radio! Then again, I’m tha 1st one ta play like ova 100 songs already on my show and counting!! As for tha song so far, afta tha hot hook, tha 1st verse iz soundin’ gr8 wit you on it! Sounds like you’re crippin’ wit your “blue flag.” I guess props on your unexpected tough power, lol! Ooh, Allie Boy on tha 2nd verse and he fresh wit his “white tee, blue jeans;” thumbs up! Gotta like tha “jiggin’” vibes ta this song too! Nice job collaboratin’ here once again, Allie Boy! My Rating: 4.4
16. “Swagg It Out” Feat. Allie Boy & Key Key
Gotta have tha two of them on a track again! Just like tha last two songs, this one iz a bonus as well! Tha bonus songs seem ta be nearly tha best ones on this CD; keep ‘em up! >>> New production here so that’s a plus! I thought I heard a title like this one day so I don’t know how special it iz. A lil’ simple on tha intro and on tha 1st verse wit tha simple/typical club/swag lyrics here. What’s up wit obsessin’ tha “doin’ your own dance” thing? Does your heart beat crazy to dance? LOL… Okay 1st verse… Tha hook sounds gr8 wit Allie Boy and you collaboratin’ wit it; I like tha “dawg” parts in tha hook and it sounds pretty good overall. Here’s Allie on tha 2nd verse soundin’ pretty good. Ooh, some tokin’ lyrics wit tha “puff, puff, pass;” that’s watz good! Nice job from Allie Boy on tha 2nd verse doin’ his thang once again!! Glad he was on here so many times!! It was like 50+% Allie Boy on tha features which was gr8! Now, tha final verse of tha mixtape from Key Key! She still comin’ through pretty good on tha track! Her “system fulla kryptonite,” so she DEFINITELY jiggin’ out her fuckin’ body, lol!! She did a nice job fa a ½ verse! I like tha ending ta end it all wit all tha “now, swagg it out” shit. My Rating: 4.3
Overall: Well, thanx to tha bonus songs, tha average CD rating went up an extra point (from when it was 3.9 before tha bonus songs) ta get it to a 4.0! Aren’t you glad you’re worth 4/5 stars? Anyway, pretty good mixtape! Some of tha beginning songs were a lil’ iffy on tha start, but your boyz and Key Key managed ta help you do tha damn thang and make a gr8 ending! All of y’all keep up tha gr8 work!
