Reviewed on 12.24.2009 (Review #368)
Ya boy FrankieThaLuckyDog here… I’m tryin’ get this ova wit before Christmas starts! I only got two hours left so let’s see how we gon end it fa Christmas Eve! Here goes my review fa Big Shane Google Me (Hosted by DJ L-Gee)! Start Time: 10:09 PM | End Time: 11:55 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Cocaine Music”
Perfect way ta start this mixtape off! BTW, how did this mixtape become “sponsored” on DatPiff? Seems random but gr8! Once again, as I said: I’m gonna pay attention to tha rhymes and lyrics here. Likin’ tha rhymes here and hearin’ tha stroies about what you’ve been doin’ through life. I don’t really feel that hook much ‘cause it’s just a female sample although later on, it got better fa me. Tha 2nd verse iz soundin’ interesting from him here. You were “at 15 years old, bad azz;” nothin’ much ta say about that but I don’t (for some reason) understand why many people in tha world go through troubles in their teenage times. Fa me, it was only ta make friends; that was a trouble fa me and looks like it’ll be a lifetime one. I really don’t know how people easily, and typically, make friends… It’s so hard I feel like! <- To add: It was a betta 2nd listen and tha 3rd listen sounds good too! On 1st listen, it was just a 3.8. I do like tha beat fa what it iz and tha hook iz catchy so tha rating iz at 4.2 now! My Current Rating: 4.2
02. “Kitchen” Feat. Young Nisa
This looks like a catchy title wit an unknown feature for me. I thought it sounded like a gurl’s name but I think it gon be a dude; lemme find out! >>> Neva mind, it iz a gurl and she sounds hot fa tha “kitchen!” She sounded good on tha hook and she’s on tha 1st verse now! Her flow iz definitely catchy and she sounds good fa this song. Tha 2nd verse iz from you and it sounds good fa what it iz; gr8 collaboration here! My Rating: 4.1
03. “Fed Ex” Feat. Gucci Mane & Dirt Dig
Who could Dirt Dig be, lol? Let’s see what we got wit tha catchy title once again! >>> Tha beat pretty cool and tha hook sounds like it’s a swag type of song (wit havin’ err-thang). It still sounds pretty catchy and you’re on tha 1st verse here… You did ya thang, spittin’ whateva you feel on this shit, ya dig (just doin’ you)! Let’s see tha 2nd verse here… It’s Gucci and it was a short verse. He was catchy on it though. Time for tha Dirt Dig on tha 3rd verse, lol. Neva mind, I’m dumb, he was on tha hook so you know he was catchy. You’re back on tha 3rd verse, Shane. Pretty good short verse once again. My Rating: 3.9
04. “Going In”
Let’s see how you’re “going in” on this track. >>> Tha beat’s a lil’ slower here… Forget what I just said, I’m assumin’ this tha Drake/Lil’ Wayne beat. It’s interestin’ fa a freestyle; you spittin’ non-stop shit here! It sounds hotter at 1:44 wit tha “beefin’ like a tiger” shit and tha way you flowin’ here! My Rating: 3.8
05. “Can’t See Me”
You showin’ off some more of your cool here; I feel ya! >>> Sounds like an original beat here and it’s off to a gr8 start. Iz that a Bloodraw intro? Everything soundin’ random… Sounds like you’re deliverin’ some contagious shit here on tha 1st verse to tha fullest. I like tha “Big Shane” parts in tha hook, especially when it was rewound back (or somethin’) a bunch of times durin’ tha end of tha 2nd hook! Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re doin’ ya thang here! My Rating: 4.0
06. “23 24”
What could these numbaz be? Tha 24 looks like it near “24 hours” or somethin’… >>> You sound pretty cool on tha intro. Now, I hear Young Jeezy as a hook so let’s see what you got on this song… Tha rhymes here are catchy and you sound pretty good on this beat right chea. Boo @ tha “skippin’ class” though… I feel like dat iz so embarassin’! Even down ta bein’ 5+ minutes late too!! I don’t know how people do it… frequently no less!! You sound like a white rapper for tha start of tha 2nd verse, lol (wit tha “cursing” part). Tha rhymes are still good though! My Rating: 4.2
07. “Check Me Out”
Looks like a regular title… I’ll “check it out,” lol. >>> You introduced “DJ Mr. Rogers on tha beat” so this an original beat! Tha beat sounds kinda quiet (like not much iz goin’ on wit it) but it sounds interestin’. Your rhymes once again are catchy here so they get a plus from me. Minus tha “make it rain” part, tha rhymes just keep becomin’ catchy throughout this whole entire verse! I didn’t expect this ta be a whole freestyle! DEFINITELY a nice job done and I like how you ended it wit “I’m gone!” My Rating: 4.1
08. “Fresh (Million Bucks)”
Looks like a typical subject and/or title… >>> Sounds like tha beat iz similar or somethin’… Tha lyrics are just decent this time. It sounds like a mainstream type of approach here wit tha freestylin’. U “gone” again, lol. Huh, anotha random person at tha end? Magno…? Talk about random but pretty good. He sounded cool via tha phone that he was on! My Rating: 3.6
09. “5 Star” Feat. Lil’ V & Killa Kyleon
And Killa Kyleon iz anotha random encounter here on this mixtape! I’ll keep lookin’ forward to tha random shit here, lol! >>> LOL, it had ta be dis Yo Gotti beat? I think it’s like ewe that he got noticed off this song when he had otha songs within tha past six years! But at least you soundin’ betta on tha 1st verse here! Iz this anotha (just) freestyle? Then again, you said you got a lotta instrumentals when you were talkin’ before tha Young Jeezy hook came on within that Young Jeezyish song. Tha verse switched to Lil’ V and tha flow sounds catchy. Tha rappin’ iz consistent here… Now we got Killa Kyleon here on tha 3rd verse; I still recognize dat voice from when I first heard it six years ago on my college station (how weird of my college station)! Too bad his part was short ‘cause it was tight. My Rating: 3.8
10. “Dope Boy Fresh” Feat. Lil’ Cali
LOL, no longer Boosie in tha ID, lol! Anyway, it was a pretty cool song and had a gr8 1st listen; check this out: Good start, “Wipe Me Down”ish wit tha hook a lil’. You’re on tha 1st verse and soundin’ good wit tha rappin’ style! Great 1st verse from dat boy Big Shane! I would’ve neva been able to picture what this song would’ve sounded like; glad I’m hearin’ it! I wonder what Cali has to offer! Cali’s on tha 2nd verse here… Of course, nothin’ but a GREAT flow wit tha rhymes and lyrics; CRAZY!! I like how tha title was said right after Cali’s verse! My Current Rating: 4.3
11. “D.O.A.”
I know you D.O.A.’d already so that’s watz good! How did you handle it as a song? >>> Sounds like you got a delivery here for this shit right here. I like how you ended tha verse wit “let’s get a moment of silence.” Tha singin’ sounded weird on tha 2nd hook… After 1:45, it starts ta get tight wit tha “tacos/Nachos” shit! My Rating: 4.1
12. “Walk Wit A Dip”
I gave this original version a pretty good rating/review when I first heard it in March of this year but for some reason, when it went mainstream earlier in tha Fall, I ignored it. It was cool dat it went mainstream though but somehow didn’t exactly fit me. Let’s see what you do on it… >>> LOL @ tha “bullshit” tag about certain DJs before tha 1st verse started! Sounds like you doin’ ya thang wit tha rappin’ here consistently! Sounds pretty tight around 1:37 wit tha “toastin’” shit! Gr8 endin’ flow! My Rating: 4.2
½time: You’re doin’ a pretty good job here wit an average CD rating of 4.0; keep it up!
13. “You’re A Jerk” Feat. Lil’ V
How about “You’re,” not “Your?” And this should be a definite no fa me! >>> Good thing it only 2:04 on tha length! All tha fast rappin’ from Lil’ V on tha 1st verse but it doesn’t work here; a minus fa me! You on tha 2nd verse and it’s just okay. Although gr8 pace and err-thang, once again, I’m not big about this song. My Rating: 2.0
14. “Dead Wrong” Feat. Trey Songz & Young Nisa
LOL, where did Trey Songz come outta? >>> This iz a pretty interestin’ beat and tha hook sounds cool wit Trey Songz on it; he did his thang! How did this collaboration come about? You’re on tha 1st verse and you still got your fast rappin’ goin’! Pretty good shit right chea! Tha Nisa gurl iz on tha 2nd verse here and it sounds like she’s squashin’ some bullshit! Interestin’ way she delivered tha verse; she did a nice job! You’re back on tha 3rd verse and it sounds like you got quality thingz ta offer ta people; that’s good. My Rating: 4.3
15. “Everybody Else” Feat. T-Pain
WTF @ tha feature? >>> And what “video” were you in “wit T-Pain,” lol? Okay job on tha 1st verse. T-Pain doesn’t make sense in my opinion of what he’s sayin’ in tha hook vs. tha song’s topic itself. Tha 2nd verse fit for tha song itself… Okay, it ended. My Rating: 2.4
16. “After The Club” Feat. Tank
Anotha unexpected name comin’ outta nowhere on tha feature… I wonder how this collaboration came about. >>> Did he say, “Keep tha Auto-Tune off my voice?” If so, thumbs up! This a slow song wit an okay hook… He even singin’ on tha 1st verse, doin’ an okay job. It doesn’t sound “clubbish/after partyish” though wit tha lyrics… What’s wit him again on anotha verse? He’s on tha 2nd verse? I’m assumin’ this has ta be jacked or somethin’… Here you finally are at 2:51. Again, anotha okay verse but it fits good fa tha song. My Rating: 2.5
17. “Throw Me Cash” Feat. Lil’ V
Betta not be gay. >>> I should’ve known it was “Throw It In The Bag” on tha beat. Pretty long intro here… Tha rappin’ iz okay here for tha 1st verse; decent lyrics. Tha lyrics are typical for tha 2nd verse from Lil’ V so I don’t have ta really say anything about it… I don’t have really any interest in tha 3rd verse; just regular random rappin’ from you. My Rating: 2.7
18. “California Love” Feat. Lil’ V
LOL if you go 90’s wit a jacked beat! >>> LOL, not exactly Tupac & Dre but it’s Marlena Shaw, lol!! Music Choice Electronica had a Diplo/Mad Decent remix of this song that I played last year; good choice wit tha EXTREME randomness here, lol!! Tha 1st verse (Lil’ V) sounded pretty catchy; he did his thang. Nice comeback to this mixtape in tha RIGHT random direction!! Here you are on tha 2nd verse and it sounds like a betta flow here. Tha lyrics are still kinda typical though… Tha hook bein’ just tha “California Soul” song/title iz cool. Tha 3rd verse sounds pretty damn fast here, lol!! Pretty good shit from Lil’ V really rippin’ tha shit up!! LMAO @ tha quality of Spark Dawg on tha phone towards tha last 12 seconds!! Good check in though! My Rating: 4.4
19. “Transform Ya”
Good thing for “California Love” fa cheerin’ me up real quick ‘cause this gon be anotha set of broken glass!! >>> Tha rhymes are at least a lil’ betta than some of those otha freestyles on here. Tha “so bad like Michael” part kinda played out now… My Rating: 2.9
20. “Drop City” Feat. Lil’ V & Settaman
I hope this iz good! >>> Beat iz decent and tha hook’s pretty good… It’s slowly becomin’ more catchy as I hear tha flow that’s applied! You sound pretty good on tha 1st verse, alertin’ all cities that you’re here! LOL @ tha start to tha 2nd verse here; sounds pretty good!! Nice job wit tha flow and tha real consistent lyrics!! Tha 3rd hook sounds a lil’ off beat in tha beginning? Let’s switch it up to tha 3rd verse right now… It’s okay fa what it iz. My Rating: 4.2
21. “Mitch Tha Man”
What could this exactly be? >>> Sounds like a newbie on tha beat or somethin’? Glad it’s original! Tha hook was good fa what it iz. Tha 1st verse sounds like you got a lotta pluses wit your swag and err-thang you got; that’s good. You keepin’ this shit catchy so that’s a plus! Tha 2nd verse iz here and you still keepin’ it fresh wit your fresh, lol. Still keepin’ this joint runnin’ wit tha 3rd verse too! My Rating: 4.1
22. “Going Thru Things”
Like what? >>> Good, it’s not depressin’! Nice and upbeat here wit a pretty “tryna be anti-strugglin’” type of hook! Sounds like you’re feelin’ good on tha 1st verse here thanx ta this Rap shit! Tha 2nd verse sounds like you’re always on a non-stop grind wit what you do (as well as gettin’ random people ta be on your mixtape/songs, lol)! My Rating: 4.0
23. “102” Feat. Cain & Chaos
Interestin’ names for tha featured artists! I should look forward ta this one!! >>> Cool beat intro here so this should be good! One of tha featured dudes iz in tha beginning and soundin’ pretty good! I was just ‘bout ta say, “What does tha title mean?” I think I caught it as a “speed” in tha car? Either way, it’s a good title. You’re now on tha 1st verse, Shane! Tha verse flowed through pretty good. I look forward ta tha next verse, ya dig! Sounds like a white rapper on tha 2nd verse but soundin’ pretty good fa this joint. Tha joint continued ta sound pretty good throughout tha rest of it. My Rating: 4.0
24. “What U Gon Do” Feat. Young Nisa, Giovanni & Maxx Calzz
Tha last song has ta be ova six minutes long? LOL… >>> Sounds like a good beat and an okay catchy hook. Tha hook sounds like it could be mainstream-borderline though. Tha 1st verse iz here and I like tha “lotto ticket” part; you KNOW I luv my tickets!! Nice job, Shane, on tha 1st verse, keepin’ this shit on and poppin’! Tha Nisa gurl again iz comin’ through pretty nicely on this shit right chea for tha 2nd verse! Let’s see what we got fa tha 3rd verse… Nice job on tha flow here! It looks like tha 4th verse leadin’ inta a “yes or no” debate, lol. Once again, good job deliverin’ this song and it breezed by fa a 6:00+ song! My Rating: 3.7
Overall: This CD was pretty good minus some of tha songs! Merry Christmas and keep doin’ ya thang wit this Rap shit, ESPECIALLY on original beats!!
