Must continue to get to that 2,000th review mark! Now, my 1,992nd review: Ghetto Bird & Militant Trouble Times, released in 2000 on Big Dog Records &
AG Records! Features include Lil’ Psycho, Rick B, Mannie Boo, J.O.B., Zilla, 2-Face, Lucky, G-Boy, Ariel, J-Low, Arthur Nick & more! Start Tyme: 9:53 AM | End Tyme: 11:02 AM

Disclaimer: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion! I only please myself wit my ratings! I don’t care how lyrical you are, as long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much really love it, as it’s considered mindblowin’ when I hear it! Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song; anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it. If you sound like anything too mainstream for me, have auto-tune in your vocals, or talk about nothin’ but money (which I consider ‘typical’ topics), I’m not buyin’ it!

01. “War”
>>> Sounds like a good lil’ street beat & how y’all comin’ through on tha 1st verse, here; a N’awlinz Pac inspiration, here… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s pretty gutta with this “War”-related content; gotta stay strapped…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & this aggressive-soundin’ shit continues; gotta feel tha energy…! I like tha “leo […] zero” rhyme; pretty tough ta handle! Hearin’ tha rest of this & this shit continues ta hold it down! A lil’ long of 4:43 but at least there’s mostly positives on this track, here, courtesy of my feedback… My Rating: 4.2

02. “Trouble Times”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ street beat fa tha N.O., here; gotta dig it! Tha 1st verse iz pretty nice with how y’all comin’ through wit it; luv how y’all deliver this everyday-life content with an aggressive, energetic voice & flow! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s soundin’ good fa tha streetz; keep it up, y’all! Keepin’ this thang movin’ with tha 2nd verse & this shit’s definitely consistent fa tha streetz! It’s literally like an unstoppable amount of unstoppable quality; gotta luv it! Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & this shit’s pretty painful with tha “mom” who “lost her baby”; real deep… My mom had to get an abortion six years b4 I was born, due to not bein’ married. Also, she had a miscarriage in 2002; shit’s sad. Either way, glad y’all able to express how these “times” of darkness occur…! My Rating: 4.4

03. “Real Soldiers”
>>> Nice & upbeat beat, here; let tha energy speak!! Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s soundin’ good fa tha Gz, here; gotta get it in! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like it went by so quick? Did I hear tha right part as tha hook? Anyway, hearin’ how tha mixin’ takes over in tha beat, at 1:39; good thinkin’! Hearin’ what y’all got goin’ on with tha 2nd verse & it’s that eye on tha N’awlinz scene; good shit…! My Rating: 3.8

04. “Mama Keep Praying 4 Me”
>>> Damn, this track’s 6:17 & it sounds pretty slow, sad & sappy for this intro… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s soundin’ like a dry verse, includin’ tha female vocalizin’ in tha background… Geez, what a boring/sad hook; no depressin’ vibes fa me! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & tha content’s too sad; no comment, once again… Keepin’ this thang movin’ with tha 3rd verse & tha sadness continues… Like, a 4th verse? Why? Just anotha filler part for more sadness, here… My Rating: 1.0

05. “AG Rider”
>>> A lil’ more energy, at least; too bad it’s 5:43…! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds aight; sounds like more of a Pac rendition than soundin’ like a N’awlinz version of him… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s aight; rhymes good but I think I gon get bored b4 tha 5:43 mark hits… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse from y’all, here & it’s str8; keep tha “hustle” up, as well… Damn, an outro of 84 seconds? Why does everythang have ta be so long? Good talkin’ on tha outro, at least; keep reppin’… My Rating: 2.2

06. “Money”
>>> Beat ain’t bad, even tho I’m not big about “Money” tracks… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like a good future, based off what y’all “see” in tha future distance, here? All about thinkin’ bigger, tho…! Hearin’ tha hook & it’s that simple “money, money, money, money, money” sample (e.g., Green Machine slot machine); no comment. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay; nothin’ much ta say about this braggin’ about “Money,” tho. Hearin’ tha 3rd verse & this Pac-soundin’ verse okay, as well; once again, I’m dry on feedback, here… Damn, a 4th verse, too? It ain’t bad; just seems too long, once again… My Rating: 2.7

07. “Wanna Be A Baller”
>>> Beat not bad, tho it sounds a lil’ dry, except tha hi-hats & some sounds… Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds okay with what y’all bringin’ to tha hood, here; let it be known… Hearin’ tha chorus & it kinda sounds a lil’ betta for a sung hook, courtesy of this chick singin’; not bad… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay, as this 2000 rap from tha undaground keeps it goin’; not bad… Damn, at 3:19, tha verse ended & there’s still 2:06 left? What gives? Oh wait, more singin’? What tha hell was that 11-second dead zone? Keepin’ this goin’ with tha 3rd verse & it’s okay; just more rhymes, basically… My Rating: 3.6

08. Head Busters (Skit)
>>> A gangsta-soundin’ skit fa tha streetz, here; pretty rough, at tymes. Damn, it sounds like a war toward tha end & near-end; ouch! My Rating: N/A

½tyme: There’s parts of this release that sound good but on tha other hand, there’s parts that are too long. Also, wasn’t diggin’ tha slow content; either way, this release only stands at a 3.1 for tha average rating…

09. “Startin’ Shit”
>>> Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s pretty heated, as far as tha delivery fa this street “shit”; good shit. Oh damn, tha “jawz locked,” too; talk about focused up & turnt up! Did I miss tha hook or somethin’? Just seems like a long set of constant rappin’, here… No transition to a hook; unacceptable! Way too long…! My Rating: 2.0

10. “My Sets”
>>> Sounds like some good, energetic, No Limit-like beat & 1st verse, here; keep tha energy up! Let’s feel like we’re Fiend or Mystikal, here! Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds good wit this set-reppin’ goin’ on, here; good shit…! Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & y’all just keep tha heat for tha streetz comin’; good shit…! Lol, sounds like a dog barkin’ at tha end? Even mixed a lil’ at 3:42!! G.O.T.T.A. .L.O.V.E. .I.T.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.! My Rating: 4.1

11. “Go Off”
>>> Sounds like a nice lil’ dark beat for tha hood; good shit, includin’ tha aggressive-soundin’ 1st verse… Even tho this track slightly under three minutes long, it just seems too long with no hook; like, why be hookless? My Rating: 3.4

12. “Touch Of Reality”
>>> Beat ain’t bad/has a lil’ bit of a good sound to it…; hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s str8; good rappin’ fa tha hood, here… Let’s see if this track actually has a hook to it… Oh, of course, it does but tha catch iz, it’s a female singer singin’ tha hook…; not really for me. Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ okay, here; let’s just keep it movin’… Hearin’ tha 3rd verse and—wait, damn, it’s just an outro? Shoulda been a shorter outro; just went right back to tha hook, too… My Rating: 2.1

13. “Death Of An Outlaw”
>>> Instantly started off with tha title part, kickin’ off tha 1st verse & this good beat ta rap on; good shit… Hearin’ tha hook & it’s soundin’ like a good hook; I’ono how catchy it iz but it at least touches tha streetz… Hearin’ tha 2nd verse & it’s more rappin’ for tha lyrical headz, here; okay for me, I guess… I’m just about halfway through this track & it’s soundin’ like it’s kinda long fa me; hmm… Hearin’ tha 2nd dude on tha 2nd part of tha 2nd verse & it’s aight; basically, if you like ‘90s rap, here’s anotha voice & flow fa tha undaground… Lol @ actually sayin’, “2010,” at tha end; random year to pick for tha future? My Rating: 3.0

14. “7th Ward”
>>> Feelin’ tha energy in tha beat & intro, here; let’s see how this turns out… Okay, definitely into tha hook, here, as tha repetitiveness catches my attention; keep tha energy up, up, up! Tha rest of this continues with chants, continuous rappin’ & not really a hook. However, tha energy continues, so I feel it more than usual tracks on here… My Rating: 3.8

15. “Better Off”
>>> Not sure if I’m anticipatin’ a female singin’ on tha intro, here… Hearin’ tha beat & it’s slow/soundin’ depressin’, here…; hearin’ tha 1st verse & it’s ehh… Hearin’ tha hook from tha female singin’ & it’s not for me; let’s move on… Keepin’ this thang movin’ with tha 2nd verse & how can y’all be involved with “titties” on this sappy track? Just seems too sad, not love-makin’…! My Rating: 1.1

16. “AG Rising”
>>> Sounds like an upbeat beat ta end thangz off? Thought it woulda been somethin’ sad, again…? Hearin’ tha 1st verse & it sounds like buku energy & some aggression comin’ from y’all, here; good shit… Hearin’ tha hook & it sounds like a catchy representation for “AG” Records; props fa tha 2nd “AG”-related track… Keepin’ this thang movin’ with tha 2nd verse & it’s soundin’ good; gotta keep tha streetz on lock! My Rating: 3.7

Overall: Thought this woulda went over betta…; tha songs weren’t arranged in tha catchiest, best wayz, imo. There were a bunch of tymes I ain’t know what was goin’ on with hooks, transitions & all that. Also, tha sad vibes threw me off; y’all coulda had a betta-soundin’ release, here. Either way, props fa reppin’ tha streetz of that 504.
