Reviewed on 7.20.2010 (Review #558)
Tha 2nd review I have for today iz a lil’ ova a year old; it’s Box “The Boxter (Hosted by Kool DJ Supamike)”! Start Time: 12:05 PM | End Time: 12:44 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings (if a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it) so any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Freestyle”
>>> No beat, lol? Good-ass rhymes except tha rhymin’ of “Jigga City” wit “Jigga City;” thumbs up! My Rating: 4.6
02. Supamike Intro (Say Hello)
Yawn… >>> WTF @ this beat? It’s REAL old and I definitely didn’t like it; why iz it here? My Rating: N/A
03. “Box On Da Grind (Player Anthem)”
I like tha title here; let’s see what’s good! >>> I don’t think this was tha same beat as tha last one, since this iz tha UGK one from ’07. I don’t really have anticipation on hearin’ this beat bein’ resurrected (although it ain’t dat bad; I feel dat ’07 has been dead for a long time now)… I don’t like freestyles on this beat at times ‘cause tha intro’s like ova a minute and it’s heavily boring… WTF @ all tha “Memphis, TN” bringin’ back? It was like 7x… Pretty good freestyle, regardless… Damn, this iz 4:35 on tha length? Kinda long… Should’ve been short like tha 1st freestyle, which was MUCH betta! My Rating: 3.2
04. “Freestyle (Dufflebag Boy)”
“Dufflebag” shouldn’t really be a compound word, lol. I guess this mixtape’s from ’07 or somethin’ since this iz anotha ’07 beat… >>> See, this sounds betta and has a much shorter length! Good lil’ freestyle here… My Rating: 3.9
05. “‘Bout My Paper”
An original track, as Los iz on tha beat here! Let’s see what’s good… >>> Sounds pretty good; nice job on tha hook. Good representin’ fa what you do on tha 1st verse, ya dig. Tha 2nd verse sounds good as you just continue ta hold dis joint down! Tha 3rd verse’s good too; can’t complain wit dis joint. My Rating: 4.2
06. “We Ain’t Playin’ (Make It Rain)”
I hope it’s not “MIR” beat… >>> Boo… I shouldn’t even leave feedback OR bring back those thoughts of tha past!! LOL @ tha hook soundin’ like a BR hook… I like tha “B iz for…,” “O iz for…,” and “X iz for…” parts; that’s good. I have to admit dat tha verses are gr8! My Rating: 4.0
½time: A 4.0 rated CD so far accordin’ to tha average CD rating; pretty good so far…
07. “Freestyle (Can’t Tell Me Nothing)”
This crosses tha line! >>> No comment for tha beginning… Good rhymes but I really can’t take this serious… There were other beats out there! My Rating: 2.5
08. “Brain Storming (White Girl)”
Ugh @ these ’07 beats; why no ’06 ones, lol? >>> LOL @ tha “tits” shit in tha hook; how random! Pretty catchy for a freestyle on an ’07 beat; good rhymes! My Rating: 3.5
09. “Hold Up, Wait” Feat. Byou2ful
A feature and someone I’ve heard from a different CD recently. Let’s see what y’all got! >>> Finally, original beats! She sounds good on this shit wit you; good hook! She’s on tha 1st verse and it’s cool… You sound like you’re focused on tha 2nd verse here; good shit. Good ending too to make dis catchy. My Rating: 3.9
10. “Ain’t Nuthin’” Feat. Suge
Let’s keep tha new jointz comin’! >>> I thought tha beat was gonna be gay but it’s pretty cool here… B On Tha Track did this beat and tha hook sounds cool. Tha 1st verse sounds good… Tha 2nd verse must prove dat dis iz “‘07” wit tha “’07 inspection.” Tha verse sounds good too… Tha 3rd verse sounds like it’s catchy on dis beat. I dunno if this joint’s soundin’ kinda long though… My Rating: 3.8
11. “Down On Ya Knees”
Let’s hear dis. >>> Sounds like a Southern sample, lol. Dukie did dis beat and it sounds like you have an IL Duce sound here wit how you’re rappin’ on tha 1st verse. Tha 2nd verse’s pretty good too… I like dat “leave you defenseless” to start tha 3rd verse off! Tha 3rd verse remained to be real good! My Rating: 4.1
12. Cameron Morales (Intro)
LOL, an intro this far down tha mixtape? >>> Sounds good… Oh, this izn’t a person (I thought it was a name)? I thought this person was here but it’s gonna be a dedication. Not really lookin’ forward… My Rating: N/A
13. “Cameron Morales”
>>> I can’t handle death-type songs, especially wit some like 70’s shit in tha background for a sample; double no-no for me. Kinda repetitive wit tha title too… At least you don’t sound depressed on tha mic. My Rating: 1.6
Overall: I think you do good on tha original tracks. Not bad of a mixtape although I wasn’t too pleased wit those gay ’07 beats…
Rankings (according to my ratings):
11. “Cameron Morales” 1.6
