Reviewed on 3.26.2011 (Review #905)
My 2nd review for today, which might be my last, since I gotta prepare for my radio show. This iz my boy Calicoe The Champ & Byou2ful “The Bold & The Beautiful (Hosted by DJ Slab 1)”! Start Time: 9:23 AM | End Time: 9:47 AM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Intro”
Iz it a long intro or a song, this time? >>> LOL, “2008”? Wouldn’t’ve guessed this was this old. Afta :47 of a good intro from DJ Slab 1, you’re rappin’, and it’s soundin’ good. Damn, I would’ve reviewed this one 1st if I would’ve known it was older than tha previous mixtape. Tha rhymes are pretty-good, here; I think I like you a lil’ betta on tha newer shit. My Rating: 3.7
02. “I Choose You”
>>> No wonder tha year… Ooh, tha voice I’m used to of yours dat I heavily consider tight! Even though this beat’s durin’ those gay ’07 dayz, I think tha shit you rappin’, here, iz nice! Byou2ful’s on this, too? I guess she’s a part of tha whole mixtape, too? That’s a plus for a collaboration. My Rating: 3.9
03. “I Done Came Up”
>>> Tha beat’s aight…; Byou2ful’s on tha 1st verse wit a somewhat-good flow, sing/rap style. Okay, here you are at :49, comin’ through wit good shit fa tha “hood,” still; thumbs up fa dis shit. My Rating: 4.0
04. “Baretta AK’s”
>>> SMH @ “Umbrella”; oh, I’m glad those sucky-ass times are behind me!! Regardless, I think you sound catchy on dis shit. I dunno about Byou2ful soundin’ like Rihanna on dis; a lil’ minus, regardless of what I expect tha content ta be! I think tha “baretta” shit’s nice, though. My Rating: 3.1
05. “Mickey Mallorie”
>>> A lil’ gay fa tha intro, here. Okay, finally, a normal-soundin’ beat and you sound good on dis…; thumbs up fa dis shit you bringin’, Calicoe! This iz mainly you, Calicoe, followed by some good scenes, too. My Rating: 4.1
06. “Beautiful Tragedy”
>>> Oh no, not this beat, lol, how random! I like how you’re deliverin’ shit fast, here; thumbs up! LOL, Byou2ful doin’ tha imitation of tha hook, again; I do like this one betta than tha “Umbrella” one; she ain’t too bad on this song, here… My Rating: 3.8
07. “All I Need”
>>> Oh no, anotha track where there’s imitation-singin’ of tha original hook…; what do you got, Calicoe? Good content; feelin’ how you bringin’ tha street shit to tha table… Even though I have a lack of interest, I give you props fa keepin’ tha rhymes comin’. My Rating: 3.4
08. “Crack Lady”
ROFL? >>> No wonder, “Bag Lady”’s tha beat, lol. Lemme hear what y’all got wit dis subject… Ooh, actually feelin’ Byou2ful’s rendition, this time! ROFL, what an interestin’ rendition wit this “too much drugs” shit and err-thang goin’ on! LOL, fa no Calicoe, this was, like, tha best song on here, so far, lol! My Rating: 4.2
½time: For mainly a jacked-beat CD, this iz valued at a 3.8 rating for me; that’s pretty-good…
09. “It’s A Rap”
“Rap” or “Wrap”? I guess I’ll go wit tha “Rap” word. >>> You comin’ through wit some gutta-ass, gangsta-type content on dis Crime Mob beat! LOL, hearin’ tha hook and it’s really “wrap” ‘cause you wrappin’ up tha scene; good shit, ya dig? My Rating: 4.1
10. “Streets On Lock”
>>> What horrible times, even if I like this song, a lil’!! Where tha fuck was my brain?!? Byou2ful sounds good wit tha rappin’, here; thumbs up ta her contributin’, as always, here. Calicoe, you’re on tha 2nd verse, comin’ through wit good shit, gangsta style, as always! My Rating: 3.5
11. “Half A Brick”
>>> ROFL, everyone calls this “Half A Brick” when it’s “Flippin’ Dat”; funny. I find it funny how people (Nina Sky) go from this gangsta shit ta good, Dance/Techno shit; interestin’ transition, lol. Anyway, you got shit on lock, here, wit tha pretty-good rhymes… Byou2ful’s on tha 2nd verse and lol, she’s bringin’ tha Nina Sky style that was originally on this track; pretty-good, although I’m not tha craziest about dis song, overall. My Rating: 3.6
12. “So Hood”
>>> Good intro; this ain’t gonna be “I’m So Hood”, right? Oh, it’s Amy Winehouse’s beat. Byou2ful’s startin’ this off and it sounds catchy, rendition style. LOL, her squeeky-clean voice sounds hot when she sings tha “so hood” part in tha hook! She holdin’ tha 2nd verse down, too, lol… You’re on tha 3rd verse, Calicoe, and it’s soundin’ good wit tha consistent rhymes. Either way, to ’07!!! My Rating: 3.7
13. “Complex Occupation”
LOL, this iz really old? My Current Rating: 4.0
14. “All A Dream”
>>> Not sure what ta say about dis wit Biggie in here and this cliché title. But, Calicoe, you’re comin’ through wit some good rhymes. Overall, nothin’ much, here, but thumbs up fa some of tha rhymes. My Rating: 3.2
15. “Strip ‘Em Down”
>>> Good start from Byou2ful, here, even though I’m not too crazy ‘bout dis beat. You’re followin’ her, soundin’ good, includin’ wit how this title’s comin’ out. Thumbs up ta tha pretty-good street rhymes, Calicoe! My Rating: 3.8
16. “Going For Mine”
>>> Sounds good wit tha start; thumbs up, Calicoe! Nice job wit these rhymes; gotta keep it G to tha fullest!! Kinda sounds a lil’ familiar but you know this iz on ‘n’ poppin’! My Rating: 4.2
17. “Great Escape”
A really-long ending song? What’s this? >>> Ugh @ tha start; why so soft and depressin’? For anotha six minutes, I gotta hear dis? Okay, not too whiny, now… Only aight but nothin’ special… LOL, you came in, outta nowhere, soundin’ a lil’ smooth, which I’m likin’, a lil’… This would be good if tha length was about ½ its size. Other than that, I dunno what I got ta say ‘bout dis one…; too long. My Rating: 2.8
Overall: This was more jacked-beat so it wasn’t even as close-as-good as tha previous CD I reviewed. Tha previous CD’s average CD rating was higher than tha top-rated song on this CD, lol!
