Review #3 for today iz Dem Haze Boyz, a group by tha late Tre-8, “Black & Purple”! R.I.P. Tre-8; glad I got ta buy this from Amazon! Start Time: 1:55 PM | End Time: 2:29 PM
Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “King Kong” (Tre-8 & Chuck Deasil)
Got ta play this on my radio show, dedicated to Tre-8, on June 19, 2011; lemme review this, now. >>> Tha production’s real tight wit this “what’s tha gorillas behind me” thing goin’ on wit tha hook; definitely some serious shit! Tha verses are serious, too; nothin’ but dat tight, raw shit from tha N.O. & even Houston, TX! My Rating: 4.6
02. “Southern Man” (Tre-8, Chuck Deasil, Nitty & Kill Bill)
>>> Sounds like a beat sample wit how tha beat sounds, here; nice… Tha hook sounds good wit this title and that sample. Tha 1st verse ain’t too bad although a lil’ mainstream fa me… “No matter where ya stay, ya genes stay in tha South;” good line! Tha other verses are aight but it sounds betta toward tha second-to-last one, ironically, “H-Town” style, lol. My Rating: 3.9
03. “I’m N Da Hood” (Millie, Kill Bill, Tre-8, Infared, Chuck Deasil & Lil’ F.A.I.T.H.)
>>> This sounds anticipatin’ wit this Jadakiss sample for tha beginning as well as tha beat! Tha 1st ½ of tha 1st verse’s soundin’ good and jammin’ fa dis shit, ya dig? Ooh, tha 2nd ½ of tha 1st verse iz pretty nice; likin’ this voice!! Tha 2nd verse iz pretty gutta, too; it’s all about these “hatch boys!” Tha 2nd ½ of tha 2nd verse iz consistent wit tha street content, too! I hear a gurl on tha 1st ½ of tha 3rd verse? Oh wait, they were right before tha verse; sounds like some good shit goin’ on in tha 1st ½ of tha 3rd verse! Tha 2nd ½ of tha 3rd verse iz good, too; good shit, overall! My Rating: 4.5
04. “Kill Somebody” (Tre-8, Infared, Kill Bill & Millie)
>>> Yes, some kick-ass production!! I like these lineups on tha tracks, too! Tha hook’s pretty energetic wit tha delivery and what’s goin’ on, here; definitely a plus!! Tha 1st verse sounds good; very focused!! Tha 2nd verse sounds good—they know “tha game,” here! Tha 3rd verse sounds nice, too; good contribution to tha track! My Rating: 4.5
05. “Doe Boyz” (Tre-8, Chuck Deasil, Lil’-J & Nitty)
Let’s see dis tight-lookin’ song! >>> ROFL @ tha Lil’ Wayne sample, once again!! Luv it!!! Tha 1st verse sounds good; feelin’ tha attitude and energy on tha track! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, too; “all about my bidness!” LOL, Lil’-J from Dope Celebrity? Kinda sounds like it but I don’t think they’re tha same; that’s why I ID’d him as “Lil’-J” (how it iz). Either way, nice job, here… Ooh, tha last verse iz pretty nice wit tha fastness; A++!!! My Rating: 4.6
06. “Test Me” (Tre-8, Millie & Jahomey)
>>> LOL, nice beginning (or hook?); hope to hear an attitude… Tha 1st verse has shit on lock, here; good job wit dis… Tha rhymes are soundin’ pretty nice wit this kick-assness and punchlines, too!! Hearin’ tha real hook, now, and it sounds okay for a Jamaican dude… Tha 2nd verse iz not bad but tha 1st verse was way betta! LOL, tha Jamaican dude (Jahomey?) rappin’ on tha 3rd verse? Okay, but this iz startin’ ta sound hilarious than street. My Rating: 4.2
07. “Yeah Nigga Yeah” (Tre-8, Millie & Nitty)
Seems ta be tha combo; lookin’ forward ta hearin’ wit this title!! >>> LOL, anotha one that sounds hilarious wit tha hook but this iz much tighter wit tha beat and tha consistency goin’ on!! Nice job wit tha 1st verse; feelin’ tha focused rhymes! Millie’s on tha 2nd verse and this iz betta than tha 1st verse; real consistent wit these rhymes!! Ooh, tha 3rd verse has some gangsta shit goin’ on; really likin’ what’s goin’ on, here! Tha gunshots make things betta fa tha track, especially wit how gangsta shit iz! My Rating: 4.6
½time: Pretty-good CD, here; y’all doin’ a nice job!! Definitely some non-stop-type shit fa 2011! A 4.4 CD rating for Purple Haze Production’s Dem Haze Boyz, right now!!!!
08. “I Got It Right” (Tre-8, Fountain, Millie & Chuck Deasil)
>>> Sounds like a really gay hook ‘til I heard tha title; now, this iz way too hilarious, plus gay, lol. This ain’t my style at all; can barely fuck wit tha verses, too… My Rating: 2.6
09. “Come On” (Millie, Tre-8 & Chuck Deasil)
>>> Okay hook; thought I’d be afraid… This sounds like it could be mainstream or somethin’, which izn’t too special for me… My Rating: 3.4
10. “This Time” (Chuck Deasil, Millie & Nitty)
Damn, no Tre-8? >>> I like how this title sounds in tha song; not bad… Tha verses sound a lil’ mainstream but this sounds good fa tha hood… Tha 2nd verse sounds a lil’ betta, here… I knew tha 3rd verse from Nitty was gonna be somethin’ hot; glad he seems ta always impress me! My Rating: 4.2
11. “Ain’t No Games” (Tre-8, Lil’-J, Nitty, Chuck Deasil, Shorty D & M.Dot)
>>> LOL, some good, old, Crunk sample on tha hook (Crime Mob)! Sounds like somethin’ that could be an anthem; if only there was a crowd cheerin’ on this… Definitely a nice job wit these rhymes; lots of nice shit goin’ on, here! Too bad tha M.Dot iz not M Dot (without a period) from Baton Rouge… My Rating: 4.4
12. “You Know How I Play It” (Tre-8, Fountain & Nitty)
>>> Yes, anotha Wayne sample on tha hook; gotta luv this entertainin’-ass shit!!! Tha 1st verse iz pretty tight; definitely feelin’ what’s goin’ on, here!! It’s all about tha gangsta shit to tha fullest! I’m likin’ tha 2nd verse, too; lol @ tha classic-soundin’ “friggy-friggy” shit, lol! Of course, Nitty should do tha damn thang on tha 3rd verse? Yes, definitely!! Really feelin’ his gutta side, once again!! My Rating: 4.7
13. “Cocaine Residue” (Tre-8, Millie, Infared, Kill Bill & Lil’ F.A.I.T.H.)
>>> “X-O on tha beat”… Nice lineup, here; really feelin’ tha 2nd contribution! Gotta luv when rapid-fire rhymes come outta nowhere!! This iz a good collaboration and nobody stops wit comin’ through wit heat!! I guess that’s why tha title’s “Cocaine Residue”? You know what it iz!! My Rating: 4.3
14. “Cameras Flashing” (Millie, Lil’ F.A.I.T.H. & Tre-8)
>>> Not really into tha gurl on tha hook…; tha beat’s aight, too… Tha hook’s startin’ ta sound more sour; rhymes are only okay and nothin’ special. My Rating: 2.8
15. “Get Stupid With It” (Tre-8 & Yung Quake)
A bonus song featurin’ Yung Quake; an upcoming album called “Louisianimal”? Will we hear it now dat Tre-8 passed? I think so ‘cause I know there are people behind him! >>> This sounds good; you know I like dis kinda shit… Tha 1st verse’s soundin’ pretty serious; kinda sounds like tha M Dot I know of wit tha voice and how Tre-8’s comin’ through wit dis! Tha 2nd verse iz pretty nice, too; lol, non-stop wit tha gutta shit! Thought there was gonna be no room fa Yung Quake but he’s here, doin’ tha damn thang wit his rapidness and tight shit!! My Rating: 4.5
Overall: I thought this was a nice CD, overall…
