Review #685: Pyrex Radio & Staxx On Deck Ent. Presents "G-Shit Vol. 2"

Reviewed on 12.17.2010 (Review #685)

Next up, Pyrex Radio & Staxx On Deck Ent. Presents “G-Shit Vol. 2. Thanx fa dis, JP. I believe these next coupla CDs gon be from ’09. Start Time: 11:32 AM | End Time: 12:36 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. T Mck Of Staxx On Deck Ent. “G-Shit Vol. 2 (Intro)”
>>> I neva got Vol. 1; wonder why… My Rating: N/A

02. Dayton Family “Hand That Rocks The Cradle”
>>> Beginning sounded kinda Poppy but it sounds REAL NICE on tha 1st verse!! Almost reminds me of my boyz tha Graveyard Soldjas!! Iz this really an ’09 song? Tha rappin’ style reminds me of tha 90’s… Ooh, I heard, “tha ‘96”! Sounds like dis bound ta be a compilation of shit from back in tha day!! Wit Don Dre’s “Dope Game” song, I wonder if he got ideas from this song ‘cause they sound similar on tha hook? Tha outro made me think tha next joint was from ’07 wit tha Collie Budz beat… My Rating: 4.7

03. Spice 1 “East Bay Gangsta”
Spice 1 ain’t a Louisiana artist but it does look like dis gon be from tha 90’s; interestin’… >>> This iz nice… once again! Glad ta hear somethin’ real like dis on here! Tha hook iz real nice; definitely good shit here! Of course, crazy flow and crazy content here! My Rating: 4.5

04. B Legit Feat. E-40 “Can’t Stop Me”
Let’s keep it goin’!! >>> This one sounds like Texas or somethin’. Again, mo great, down South-type shit from tha undaground/90’s! How tight dat it took ova a minute fa tha 1st verse ta start! Tha content here iz definitely nice; always inta dat street shit! Sounds like E-40 on tha 2nd verse? I gon source him! Tha 3rd verse iz soundin’ good between tha alternations of rappin’! My Rating: 4.3

05. T Mck Checks In (Part 1)
I wonder what tha idea of oldies was? >>> This intermission’s kinda bleh… My Rating: N/A

06. Master P “Dead Presidents”
Not bad on tha beat here but he got this shit on lock wit his rappin’ fa tha ‘95! I like tha fast rappin’ from :26 - :32! Tha 2nd verse sounds good, reppin’ TRU to tha fullest! Very consistent goin’ on here wit tha verse (I don’t know if it transitioned to tha 3rd verse or stayed on tha 2nd verse); a lot goin’ on. My Current Rating: 4.1

07. Ice Cube “Once Upon A Time In The Projects”
LOL, I guess this ain’t too undaground after all… >>> I rather’ve this compilation stay more on a Southern vibe. Good fa what it iz… LOL @ “smells like he took a shit in his lil’ draws!” My Rating: 4.2

08. Juvenile Feat. Mannie Fresh “Roll With ‘Em”
>>> I dunno if I heard dis one but it’s soundin’ pretty tight for tha beat start. This iz a catchy song fa tha 90’s… Mannie Fresh featured on tha 3rd verse here, doin’ his thang. My Rating: 4.2

½time: Didn’t expect dis ta be a 90’s compilation, released in 2009; tight shit! So far, y’all lookin’ at a 4.3 fa dis CD!

09. UGK Feat. 3-2 & F.L.A.J. “2 Real”
Now tha feature iz listed? >>> Good, Southern shit… My Rating: 4.0

10. Rev Dayton Vogue Jr. & Deacon Dick’em “Live From Last Baptist Chuuch”
I couldn’t tell where tha title started on tha ID on tha back cover… >>> Sounds like a weird intermission. I’m not gonna count dis as a song… Startin’ ta get pretty gay toward tha end. My Rating: N/A

11. 2Pac “Outlaw”
ROFL, even he’s on here? >>> Anotha good addition ta dis CD. I think it’s pretty sad wit today’s music how everyone sounds tha same—shitty. It sounds like back then, err-body sounded tha same—in a GR8 way! A feature on tha 3rd verse… Most of these songs/artists are so long ago to where I don’t know some of ‘em. My Rating: 4.3

12. Crime Boss “Recognize”
>>> Kinda typical, 90’s style here that iz kinda boring fa me. Even though it’s, like, a “smokin’” song, it just doesn’t sound dat special fa me. Finally, rappin’ @ 2:32. My Rating: 3.5

13. C-Bo Feat. Mississippi “Money By The Ton”
LOL, a rapper by just tha name of Mississippi? >>> This has a good vibe ta it; nice old school here. Not really likin’ tha singin’ for tha hook; could’ve been somethin’ else. My Rating: 3.8

14. L.O.G. “G’s & Soldiers”
Ooh, some L.O.G. on here! I have played him on my radio show here and there. >>> This iz dat definite, tight shit! He representin’ here on tha track; dumb shit! Good shit all tha way ‘round! Tha hook definitely defines what it’s like in tha Boot! My Rating: 4.4

15. The Last Mr. Bigg “Hoe Check”
Iz this tha Mr. Bigg dat was on dat “Poppin’ My Collar”, Three 6 Mafia joint? >>> Sounds like it has a Louisiana feel to it in tha beat. For a “hoe” joint, this iz DEFINITELY catch! Sounds like T-Lo might’ve been influenced by him ‘cause T-Lo sounds a lil’ like him? Also, it sounds like Choppa, too. Definitely anotha catchy joint all tha way ‘round! My Rating: 4.4

16. T Mck Of Staxx On Deck Ent. “G-Shit Vol. 2 (Outro)”
>>> How do those people in tha outro get shouted out? What did they have ta do? My Rating: N/A

Overall: Pretty good; it would’ve been betta if it was all Louisiana.
