Review #707: Lil' Boosie "Incarcerated"

Reviewed on 12.19.2010 (Review #707)

Review #9 for me today iz Lil’ Boosie “Incarcerated, which Music Choice: Rap has been randomly playin’ tha “Better Not Fight” song for a while, lol. Start Time: 8:46 PM | End Time: 9:43 PM

Quick Note: I rate each song from 1.0 – 5.0; each rating iz my own opinion!! I only please myself wit my ratings!! I don’t care how lyrical you are! As long as it’s jammin’ enough for me to like it! I look for beats, then vocals, and then lyrics. To determine my favorites, I will differ tha 4.0 ratings. If a song gets at least a 4.0 rating from me, I love it already. If at least a 4.6 rating, I pretty much REALLY LOVE it as it’s considered “mindblowin’” when I hear it. Any song can earn up to a maximum of a 5.0 rating. Anything I type before “ >>> ” iz what I’m sayin’ before I listen to tha song. Anything after I type “ >>> ” iz what I think of tha song while I’m listening to it.

01. “Devils” Feat. Foxx
Startin’ dis thang off! >>> Savage and Da New Kidd doin’ a nice job on this beat here! Sounds pretty nice wit tha tight content you have goin’ on here; good shit! Tha hook’s real catchy, lol. Here comes Foxx on tha 2nd verse, spittin’ some hot shit! This song definitely has real shit ta offer; you know what it iz wit those “devils”, lol. My Rating: 4.5

02. “You Don’t Know”
BJ did this beat, a.k.a. Tha New Orleans Runna. Let’s see how it gon sound! >>> Sounds good fa a start; gotta feel tha Baton Rouge vibe in tha beat! You sound catchy on tha hook—minus tha Biggie flow. Tha 1st verse sounds pretty good; lots of shit goin’ on in your world. Keepin’ tha personal shit goin’, tha 2nd verse iz pretty good, too; keepin’ it consistent. Tha 3rd verse sounds good, too; you representin’ fa tha people in jail, too. My Rating: 4.3

03. “Betrayed” Feat. Webbie
Big Korey and Mouse on tha beat here; how will it go? >>> I’m really likin’ dis start; sounds pretty tight! From tha ATL to tha 225 wit tha beat combination, it’s soundin’ pretty nice here! You have some good, street rhymes goin’ on in tha 1st verse; definitely likin’ what’s goin’ on here! Tha hook’s real catchy, too; you got shit on lock! Tha 2nd verse tight, too; nice job, Boosie Boo. Webbie’s on tha 3rd verse, collaboratin’ good wit you. Good ta hear from Webbie here and there, ya feel me? My Rating: 4.4

04. “Chill Out”
Mista Raja production; let’s hear it… >>> Good vibes here in tha beat and it sounds like you ready ta spit some shit. Tha 1st verse good and tha hook sounds good wit how you say tha title and how tha beat sounds sound! Tha 2nd verse good once again! You really got a lotta followers so it’s a plus ta put it in a song! Sounds like Lil’ Trill on tha 3rd verse, just comin’ through wit some pretty-good shit. I won’t source anyone ‘til I officially know; does he say, “nigga,” yet? My Rating: 4.3

05. “Bank Roll (Part II)” Feat. Webbie & Big Head
LOL, who are these producers? T-Turn on tha beat? Let’s see as well as tha collaboration. >>> Different and smooth here for tha South. Pretty good 1st verse and tha hook’s nice and catchy, ya dig? Webbie did a nice job on tha 2nd verse, representin’. Big Head had interestin’ rhymes ta offer on tha 3rd verse; nice and consistent… My Rating: 4.2

06. “How We Do It” Feat. Webbie & Lil’ Trill
Miami producer Bigg D on tha beat, lol? Let’s see how it goes dis time. >>> Sounds like a mainstream anthem for tha Rap world; good shit. LOL, how random: “hoes lick my nutsack.” Webbie holdin’ tha hook down nice on dis beat! Webbie’s even on tha 2nd verse, doin’ a nice job once again! This must’ve been recorded in 2009 ‘cause Webbie said, “by 2010, I’m tryna have…,” lol. It all good though ‘cause you know dis shit iz tight. Trill doin’ a pretty good job on tha 3rd verse wit his fast rappin’. My Rating: 4.3

07. “Cartoon” Feat. Shell & Mouse
LOL, this CRAZY song dat Mouse produced!! You KNOW dis shit’s OFFICIAL!!!!! Sounds anticipatin’ wit tha beginning! Catchy-ass song wit this title, too!! Well, Shell’s on tha 1st verse, doin’ a nice job! ROFL @ all these “cartoons”! Mouse’s on tha 2nd verse here, ROFL! Good shit here! Time fa Boosie on tha 3rd verse… Mo good shit that’s followin’ tha content and tha title’s topic! I REALLY luv how this blends wit pillz, lol!! My Current Rating: 4.8

½time: DEFINITELY nice CD right here from you, ya dig? So far, you’re at a 4.4 for tha CD rating; keep it goin’!! PURE QUALITY HERE!!!

08. “Thugged Out” Feat. Foxx
G5 Kids beat. I think I know dis one… >>> Yea, I do. Wait, Foxx’s on it instead of Money Bagz & Quick? This iz different… Foxx doin’ a nice job here wit his consistent rhymes! Of course, you do a nice job wit tha hook, “thugged out” style, lol! Glad dis shit hit stores now so people can hear it! LOL @ tha “hammer, same shape as Louisiana” part; good sht, Boosie! You held tha 2nd verse down (as always)! LOL, Foxx on tha 3rd verse, too? I don’t get why they didn’t wanna give Quick & Money Bagz some exposure. It’s like, we don’t have to live in a Pop/semi-Pop world, smh. It’s still a pretty good verse, though. My Rating: 4.4

09. “Better Not Fight” Feat. Lil’ Trill, Webbie, Foxx & Mouse (Trill Fam)
A.K.A.: Trill Fam. LOL @ Beanz & Kornbread for tha producers. I would always think it’s Mouse or somethin’ but it’s someone different. Lemme get tha full review of dis joint. >>> LOL, it’s about time Music Choice: Rap got some new heat! Gotta luv dat hook! You’re doin’ a nice job on tha 1st verse, too; consistent rhymin’ and created songs to tha fullest!! LOL, Lil’ Trill wit his “mosquito” rhymes in tha 2nd verse, soundin’ pretty poisonous, lol! Webbie’s on tha 3rd verse, keepin’ it consistent… again, lol! Mouse doin’ a nice job wit dat hook; he just keeps it rollin’, rollin’, rollin’! Foxx wit his crazy rhymes during tha 4th verse; DEFINITELY official!! My Rating: 4.5

10. “What I Learned From The Streets” Feat. Shell
Dat Boi Chyco? Who’s dat for tha producer? Anyway, looks like it’s pretty tight wit Shell on dis shit!! >>> Thought I saw dis shit before but it’s new; I feel anticipated! Slow start wit you spittin’ some good rhymes, wit an attitude, in tha 1st verse! Tha hook’s definitely official wit “learnin’” thangz. Tha 2nd verse iz good; you got a lot of shit ta offer for “tha streetz” here, my boy! REALLY lookin’ forward ta hearin’ Shell!! Here he iz, spittin’ dat real, street shit! Nice and smooth wit tha flow and keepin’ it G; dumb shit! My Rating: 4.3

11. “Calling Me”
DJ Infamous & Laurent Cohen produced this one. Tha featured artist has “dread” in their name? Shit yea, this must be pretty tight, then! >>> What nice production sounds in tha beginning! A song for tha ladies dat sounds pretty tight! Good shit here! Tha production, content, and y’all make dis shit on ‘n’ poppin’! Good shit you got goin’ on here in tha 1st verse. ROFL, “she put ice on my nuts;” you and tha penis area! ROFL!! Keepin’ it goin’ wit tha 2nd verse wit “eat tha dick while I’m playin’ Madden;” OMG! Where’s this Dred dude? Did I miss him? Or do y’all sound tha same? Well, I didn’t hear a Yung Dred dude so I gon have ta take him out tha ID. If this iz an error, let me know so I can fix it/hear a correct version; whateva. I’m usin’ Wikipedia for all tha info in this review. My Rating: 4.1

12. “Do It Again” Feat. Lil’ Phat & K.T.
Tha last song was tight. Anotha song wit dis kinda content? I dunno how special it’ll be ta have two in a row… >>> Not really likin’ dis beat intro; too soft. I rather hear tha X-rated shit just like tha last song. This iz Big Wayne on tha beat? Shit no, can’t be… This iz really not for me at all; K.T. doesn’t sound too good on tha hook either. I thought I was gonna see an automatic five-star rated Boosie CD for a second, lol! Maybe next time? Lil’ Phat actually has a good verse, too. This could’ve been an easy 4.0 rating if it wasn’t on this weird-Pop shit. My Rating: 2.6

13. “Long Journey” Feat. Webbie
Not another disappointment… BJ’s back on tha beat; can’t be too bad. >>> At least there’s a Southern vibe to this beat! Ooh, this iz a good, Southern-styled jam. I’m likin’ that there’s “journey” in tha title so it sounds like I can in vision me drivin’ somewhere! Tha hook’s a lil’ different but sounds pretty good… Webbie did a nice job on tha 2nd verse, holdin’ it down on this “journey”! Nice job on tha 3rd verse, too. My Rating: 4.3

14. “The Rain” Feat. Lil’ Trill & Locco
Only heard some of it; neva heard tha full thing. I don’t even wanna hear tha full thing but here goes nothin’… >>> Willy Will & Halo; who are they as far as producers? Perfect ending song but not for this CD; this CD was not depressin’! So spooky wit Locco on tha hook; who would like dis/take dis serious? Lil’ Trill’s verse aight; didn’t make a change to my rating. Tha beat ain’t even too bad for a depressin’ song. That hook just gets to me, though. My Rating: 2.1

Overall: Prolly tha best, most-consistent Boosie CD I heard in a while! I know tha shit from tha really early dayz must be betta than this. But, this has ta be tha best shit I’ve heard from you within tha 2007 – 2010 era! Keep it up, incarcerated or not, lol!
